@TheSaltysack Well since you said please lol. It could possibly produce 7 volts but heating it with a torch would destroy the unit itself. The main weakness with a TEC module is probably the way the individual cells interconnect via solder joints. Get it too hot and its done for. Also you need some pretty impressive temperature differentials between both sides to produce any usable power, so just heating one side or just cooling the other won't produce much.
I've always thought these things were really, well...cool! How much current does it take and where can you buy one? I've seen these in those portable refrigerators for use in the car, but I don't think it has enough capacity to air condition a room. It would be nice if it could because there wouldn't be any compressor sound when it's running.
PS I'm working on rewiring my MOT bank this weekend so I should have an HD HV video up soon next week.
@CameramanLink this little guy im guessing takes about 3A @ 12V. you can get them online at numerous sites, but i got this one outta a minifridge too! and as you said i doubt it would air condition a room, BUT if you get a couple, and place them next to a really cold wall or even an open window fitted with a board that has them mounted to it, the temperature diffrence would give you current in the winter! (depending on where you are lol)
@codemsan Thanks! I might do some experiments with these and post videos about them. I wish there was a way to make these things really powerful so they could make electricity for a house. Like you said, in the winter it would be free power basically.
I just finished re-wiring the MOT bank from your schematic and it's almost time to try it out :)
@CameramanLink haha no problem! i wish they were bigger aswell, so you could side your house or at least just your roof with them and the difference, especially in cold areas, would hopefully put out enough power for at least half your house! thatd be cool!
dude can you power a rc car with it can it make 7 volts if you heat it with a torch plz respond
