It's kinda sad to see what Renegade's career became after they dropped the "Ultimate Surprise" gimmick. They basically fed him to rising talent on the grounds that they were defeating a former champion. They didn't even attempt to put any effort into him once the face paint was gone.

Doink was a joke that everyone loved. How can you not like a clown? Renegade was a rip off of Ultiomate Warrior. Not a parody. Not for comedy, a straight rip off. And he was poor in the ring with no mic skills. How would that would in ECW?
the whole "ripping off the ultimate warrior" thing was Biscoff and Hogan's idea anyway. he could've found something new to do in ECW. judging by his attire in this match, it looked like he was finished with the clone wars. also, Sabu botches moves in every match he has
At least Sabu can still put on a great match. Sabu, whilst very botchy, is very innovative. Renegade is just another plain, generic, muscle bound freak that couldnt stand out from the other plain, generic, muscle bound freaks. With WCW and WWF both shoving these guys in our faces, ECW was different. Hiring Renegade would have been a disaster.
well ECW should've listened to you before they put the belt on Mike Awesome. and renegade had more moves than ultimate warrior. you just gotta watch more of his matches other than the ones where he's just a jobber
Mike Awesome was incredibly gifted for a man his size. You cant compare Renegade to Mike Awesome. Awesome was actually a decent worker. And Renegade may have had more moves that Warrior, but that's not saying much
Renegade won the Television title in WCW while Mike Awesome fucked fat girls, dressed in a leisure suit, and faked being canadian while in WCW. no wonder he hung himself
Mike Awesome won the ECW World Title twice, and ECW tag title, and competed in all 3 of Americas top promotions. Renegade fucked no one, owned no suits, and no promotions wanted him. And at least Awesome made it to his 40s. Awesome has also had some amazing matches, which cant be said about Renegade.
He had match of the night at the first One Night Stand, Renegade's never had match of the night, not even on Thunder. And that match at One Night Stand was amazing, if you thinked it sucked then fine, but the masses would disagree. Mike Awesome's work has ALWAYS been better than Renegade's.
