I payed $1200 for a new AlienWare PC, all my hardware top of the line.. of course AlienWare. Then $60 for a new copy of GTA:IV.. I bought the PC so i could play the game at full quality settings, HD and all..
All that money wated, when i could of bought a Xbox360 and plugged it to my 52" HDTV and played the game at its full quality without wasting so much cash.. get it?
AlienWare is overpriced. And you don't need a PC anywhere near top of the line to get better performance than a 360 or ps3. on most games, the console graphics are equal to medium-ish settings on the PC version. not to mention they have lower frame rate.

Dedicated servers are banned in this game. It means you will play online in some random kid computer while he downloads porn on the background 10 minutes before he goes to bed, by which time you'll get "server disconnected" message. He owns you.

What the producers don't consider in this is all of the people making custom maps who end up working for them. Without modding, there is no choice other than to sit there mindlessly playing the game. Soon consoles will have only one button so everyone can play.

Ya, I think this move was plain stupid for IW. I'm a console gamer, but this move just reverses what gaming is supposed to be heading towards. We want consoles to have freedoms like in PC games, not restrict PC games.

You probably don't know what the significance of dedicated servers means, because you're 12 and play on an xbox your parents bought for you.
In which case none of this concerns you, because you're quite willing to spend mommy's money on DLC that could be made for free on the PC.

AHAHAHA, I know how important dedicated servers are, I just prefer consoles because installing/un-installing and patches make it a pain, I remember when the currrent Bf:2142 patch came out, too many bugs.
The thing is, the pc version is already delayed to the 20th, making them change it more will push it back even more

Yea, patches are annoying, but I'd rather have patches than stuck with a shit game. Also, apps like Steam make patching a lot easier, and much faster.
Technically, Modern Warfare 2 hasn't been delayed to the 20th, but I'd rather it would be if they'd add dedicated servers.

I play a long time and a lot of FPS. I play on my gaming rig and never will switch to consoles.
FPS are best played on pc and other shit i dont need...:)

I don't understand PC gamers.. i was one too, until i bought a Xbox360. Let me explain something i hope you understand.
I payed $1200 for a new AlienWare PC, all my hardware top of the line.. of course AlienWare. Then $60 for a new copy of GTA:IV.. I bought the PC so i could play the game at full quality settings, HD and all..
All that money wated, when i could of bought a Xbox360 and plugged it to my 52" HDTV and played the game at its full quality without wasting so much cash.. get it?

AlienWare is overpriced. And you don't need a PC anywhere near top of the line to get better performance than a 360 or ps3. on most games, the console graphics are equal to medium-ish settings on the PC version. not to mention they have lower frame rate.

Im not much of a pc gamer but when I heard this shit im surprised! Is IW filled with morons or they hate anything thats not a 360? Pc games keep getting shafted and thats why I stopped gaming on pc's.I feel sorry for pc players they wont be even able to enjoy gaming now...

Most PC Gamers don't have issues with console gamers. We recognize each as a gaming platform, and don't belittle the other.
Unfortunately, there are those on both ends that bash the other. Come on fellas. Those of us on PC are getting screwed over, most are talking of going back to BF2 and waiting for BFBC2 now. Consoles, you're great, a lot of fun, and have your place. But for those of us that have a preference (not a sin) for PC, we have more than a valid reason to be irritated.

those massive servers on pc are cool, but pc gaming cant compare to xbox or ps3, because they are built for that purpose, and if u arent getting it just for losing those servers, then u r just incredibly sad

Yes consoles are streamlined for gaming but don't confuse that with being better. Essentially, the are closed system computers you cant upgrade. Nothing wrong with that just different.

CoD:MW2 is coming out for PC, yes. But they upped the price and removed dedicated servers.. That's a hint dude.. they don't want to invest in PC players if they're gonna pirate there shit. Soon enough.. PC gaming will be gone with the wind.. it will be a sad day indeed...

The point is that most console users still do not pirate their games or obtain illegal copies. Plus the DLC sales are probably way higher on consoles as opposed to PC, its no surprise that IW is favoring consoles over PC for MW2

Dedicated servers are banned in this game. It means you will play online in some random kid computer while he downloads porn on the background 10 minutes before he goes to bed, by which time you'll get "server disconnected" message. He owns you.

with the iwnet the system is gonna be exactly the same as console.. i dont see the point in getting pc version anymore.. .. damn i guess im going to have to buy the ps3 one afterall tho i nvr liked shooters on colsoles.. with some exceptions like uncharted/deadspace

Funny stuff Pfunk! Yeah, looks like IW is biting the hand that fed them. Look at the success the mods brought to Valve - how much did they make porting the CounterStrike mod to the consoles? If they'd locked stuff down, they'd never have made any of that coin.

As for this situation... I think I'm more sad about it, than mad. MW2 looks to be a great game and I was looking forward to playing it, but without dedicated server support, I'm simply not going to buy it.
Listen servers are a joke when compared to a good dedicated server. I'm use to lag free gameplay with great ping times... I'm not willing to give that up.
