Mary was a wonderful mother and a great wife but after Acts chapter 1 there is no mention of her in scripture. I would say that Joseph may not have been around at the time of the events of the crucifixion and resurrection. We don't know because scripture is silent. Joseph was also a godly, righteous man. They fit into God's plan. I do not agree with you but we could go on forever. We just see things differently. Protestants and Catholics disagree on this issue and let scripture speak.
It is believed by others that Michal was childless because of direct decision of the Lord or David excluded her from marital relations. Deal with the context of what has been written. What has David and Michal have to do with Joseph and Mary who had children and a family. All you have to do is read the context in the light of other scriptures. Jesus was the firstborn of Joseph and Mary. Marriage is an honorable thing as well as having children. Jesus was called a firstborn child.
@tacikcim like I said, the term brothers and sisters of Jesus do not mean brothers and sisters as we know it today.... Lot, for example, is called Abraham’s "brother" (Gen. 14:14), even though, being the son of Haran, Abraham’s brother (Gen. 11:26–28), he was actually Abraham’s nephew....
Matthew is talking about a whole family. Two parents and their children. Are you trying to say that Mary had no children after Matthew 1:24,25 tells you that Joseph did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn which tells you she had other children and Joseph had sex with her. That is why people get married or at least one of the reasons and it should be. I don't understand the point when scripture tells us that Peter was married. A bishop should be the husband on one wife.
@tacikcim Consider this line: "Michal the daughter of Saul had no children till the day of her death" (2 Sam. 6:23). Are we to assume she had children after her death? You are reading the bible with todays language....
If you look at the New Testament epistles there is no mention of Mary as I said before. Matthew 13:52-57 tells us that Jesus had brothers and sisters. Mary was their mother and Joseph their father. The context of those verses show us that they were a family. James, the writer of the Epistle of James, was a brother to Jesus. Mary was an obedient servant as well as her husband Joseph. There has only been One born outside the slave market of sin and that was Jesus. He delivered His people from
@tacikcim the term brothers and sisters is different from one language to another. Even the first Christians talked of Mary as "virgin". Brothers in one language means the same as cousins, ect...in our language. Lot, for example, is called Abraham’s "brother" (Gen. 14:14), even though, being the son of Haran, Abraham’s brother (Gen. 11:26–28), he was actually Abraham’s nephew....
stevesylvia - Thank you again. Mary was the mother of his humanity. Matthew 1:24, 25 tells us that Joseph did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. Joseph knew her sexually after that as indicated by verse 24. Her perpetual virginity does not come out of scripture but was borrowed. Israel knew that one day the Redeemer would come and Mary knew that also that is why she would rejoice in God my Savior. To make Jesus her heavenly Son is a broad reach. It is idolatry.
stevesylvia Thank you for addressing my comment. We disagree. Mary isn't God. Isaiah 44:6. She was not blessed above women but among women. Isa.44:6. After Acts chapter 1, Mary is not mentioned in scripture. She needed redemption as she was born into this world just like you and I. The only one born without sin was the Lord Jesus. Nowhere in scripture is she given worship. The apostles and prophets all testified in scripture that life and salvation were in Him and Him alone. Hebrews 1
@tacikcim I never said Mary was God.....Your opinions are welcome, but as I said, Mary never said she needed a redeemer. We do not give worship to Mary, that is reserved only for God. History tells us that the first Christians believed that Mary remained a virgin, and considered her to be their mother. That is based on the teachings of Jesus who told the Disciples "behold your mother..." We never said Salvation is in Mary, that is a lie taught to you by those who hate Catholics.
The reason Jesus Christ came into the world was to save sinners like me and you. Mary was not sinless. There is one mediator between God and man and that is no one else but the Lord Jesus. Jesus was born outside the normal conception in that He didn't have a sin nature. Mary said that her soul doth magnify God my Savior. He was her Deliverer in all circumstances. Read the Book of Hebrews where Christ is exalted as the mediator of the New Covenant. He is the only one that can save.
@tacikcim Mary called Jesus her Saviour, not her Redeemer, big difference. Remember that in the old testament, the Ark of the covenant was kept away from human hands...so too Mary was kept from sin through her Saviour Jesus. A saviour is one who keeps us or a person who rescues you or keeps you. A redeemer is one who buys back someone... as Jesus did at the cross.
Show me where in the bible, chapter and verse, where it says Jesus was Marys Deliverer...It's not there...
Mary was born without the stain of original sin so therefore Full of Grace and didn't need to be redeemed as you say. Also when her time on earth came to an end she was assumed body and soul into heaven. Regarding all those comments on your channel..some people will never get it. May our beloved mother Mary in heaven watch over you Steve.
I hate false doctrine. It burns me like an ember burning out of control because I love my Savior Jesus Christ so dearly I hate to see his glory, honor, and majesty robbed.
Why am I angry? because the Roman Catholic church has "taken away my Lord" and replaced Him with vanity, greed, and the worship of a false goddess.
Have you ever tested what the church is telling you by the Word of God?
@kasper9016, what makes you think Mary was sinful? The Scriptures never say she needed a Redeemer. What the bible clearly states is that Mary said Jesus was her Saviour. Two very different words...
@stevesilvia well in genesis 3 Adam ate the tree of knowledge of good and evil and at that point sin ented all humankind........Roman chapter 7 espicially explained about this sin.....anyway...this says that all humans are sinful in nature.....and without exception....Mary as well......Jesus was the one only who never sinned on the earth becoz he had both humanity and divinity....that's why he was the only one capable of dying for our sins....
@stevesilvia basicly humans were once belong to God....but when sin entered.....we no longer belong to God...."Redeem" as in paying a price to get something that originally belong to the person.......in this case, the price is Jesus's unsinful blood......so that's why Mary also needed a redeemer since she was part of the human race :)
@kasper9016, you can't have it both ways....follow and read and quote Scripture correctly....The bible states that Mary said Jesus was her Saviour, not her Redeemer. Don't think you can add words to the bible here...
@stevesilvia my statement was pretty straight forward.. human flesh is sinful in nature........according to genesis.....and there is no exception except Jesus who had both divinity and humanity(of he is God)....redemption, i would say it's part of the salvation.....or 1st stage of full salvation
@stevesilvia now Genesis talked about God wanting Adam to eat tree of life..........from here we see the salvation is spritually organic.....and it's logic....having God's life means having the same nature as God (unsinful of course)......
@stevesilvia Mary needs salvation means she didn't have God's nature......she had a "human" nature and a human life...so she definitely needs redemption just like u and me in order to be reconcil to God. 1 or 2 verses can not explain God's salvation....u need the entire bible
@kasper9016, sorry, the bible never says that Mary needed a Redeemer. Your interpretation of the bible is useless here. Your idea that Mary was like you or me is false, Mary was chosen by God for a reason. This is what we believe. Did you know that the first Christians also believed this? It is recorded in their paintings, dated to the first few hundred years after Jesus was crucified.
@stevesilvia All i can say is that what the early Christians knew were shallow and not up-to-date. They knew nothing about divine trinity, justification by one, regenartion of spirit. All they knew was what they heard...Paul's 12 letters to 12 early churches were mostly about complainning the degrading problems they had,
@kasper9016 (by faith*) meaning that early Christians did not have a proper understanding of Christ's teaching. Today bible is everywhere and still a lot of Christians just never read it and just stick with their shallow understanding of the truth. ok i am done here...arguing is a sin. :)
I am a Christian, therefore unwilling to trust and accept doctrine that is not of God. I am not trying to be mean to you, I am just telling you the truth. The Roman Catholic Church is a giant pillar in the earthly kingdom of Satan and sadly, many sincere people have been deceived into accepting it as the 'true church'.
So much anger and hate in your words...Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it. All I am saying is that we love and respect Mary as the Mother of Jesus.
Powerful scripture, good music, disgusting imagery of the cultic Mary of Roman Catholicism. A truly twisted view of Mary that would 'pierce her heart like a sword' if she were to know that is taught of her.
Thank you for your comments, but remember, it's not so much what we believe, as much as it is how we live. Mormons and Catholics have more in common than most people believe. The Greatest is respect for our Mother.
Mormons? Please tell me where that came from. Did I miss something? Mormonism is completely based on a angelic revelation given to a 14 year old boy which accepted a cursed gospel.
