Glam? Thrash? War? Nice excerpt from the book of a 1000 cliches on dysfunctional marketing. Corporate business and payoffs, the one consistent thing in the music industry. Play, use or buy your way in.
Hair and Thrash may have been enemies in the past but this does not matter now and they are both a hell of a lot better than the crap that passes for music these days.
I will say, "Power Metal" to me rivals "CFH," "Vulgar," and "FBD" and I think it was a great mix of Metal Church, Leatherwolf, and Accept, but "I Am the Night" and "Projects in the Jungle" had some great Def Leppard-meets-TNT and Shy-esque tracks like this. But, aside from "Biggest Part of Me," "Metal Magic" sucked.
Don't get me wrong, this seems like a great track but why does the singing sound so quiet and distant? It just doesn't sound right...Terry screwed up or the recording studio did or it's just this youtube version...
i seen anthrax live open for judas priest they are awesome the greatest metal will not be forgotten to the true fans of real metal the new age stuff on the radio is crap there is still new metal cooming out but not on basic radio
Great Fucking Song But The Singer is horrible. This is my Favorite Pantera song through and through but I wanna punch the Vocalist in the mouth. Dammit Phil!!!!! Why couldn't you sing on this album?! lol
@kDIMI7 I know I know it's not Terry's fault I just don't know why he sounded so soft on THIS SONG! "Forever Tonight" has to be the best 80's ballad ever written, i Don't know :)
I prefer this Pantera to the later stuff mainly due to this stuff being recorded in the 80s. The 80s kicks so much ass that no other era of music can come close to the sheer brilliance of the 80s.
lol pantera denies all these albums, when i showed a good buddy of mine who passed away in 2007 these tapes back in 2005 he did not believe it was dimebag. most people have not even heard these albums. but they rock pretty hard. i wish dimebag would of rerecorded some of these jams later on before dying.

it's unfortunate that pantera is ashamed of their 80s albums, ok its glam, but it's still better than poison and those cherry pie boys. it is really too bad that pantera themselves have consistently claim cowboys from hell as their "official debut", and completely disowned their 80s catalog. Pantera's 80s albums will be forgotten and obscured as they probably won't ever get a reissue.
I love how this album shows how heavy they were and how melodic they could be as well. It had the crunch and balls out riffs from Right on the Edge to this airy feeling on Forever Tonight. Tasteful solos and vocals along with a solid foundation....I get a kick out of the one sided idiots that bash this time in the band's existence. They obviously don't understand musical integrity.
I'll admit they had a few good hits in the 90's but I personally like their earlier 80's material better. They did do a kickass version of "Cat Scratch Fever" though :)
I love this song as well as their other 80's material. Who knew they were capable of doing such awesome songs that totally blow their 90's stuff out of the water? Really!
i think this song is awsome!!!!....i got in a rguement with someone who said that "c.f.h."was there first album and that pantera would never do something like this!!!i proved that fucker wrong!!!..anyways i think this song gives charecter not just a hard hitting in your face also a soft side as well
They had fucking four full length professional albums that could go right up there with Ratt or Dokken in the 80s. Fuck who says CFH was the first album. Phil was already on one album before CFH.
Well, I agree with some comments that this is a good song. But to say that those who can't respect this ain't true pantera fans is going a bit too far, I think.
These vocals are really weak. Really weak. I love 80's hair metal. I listen to Van Halen, Journey, and even the really old original itinerations of Alice in Chains, but this. This? This makes Wham! seem like the straightest dudes this side of a Prince music video.
Yet another gem of a song and guitar work/solo from the pre-Atlantic records era "cowboys from hel". Love the tapped harmonics (a la eddie van halen)......Awesome!!!!!!!!
