Yes, this was a special super fight with knockdown karate rules.

They used the seidokaikan variation of the knockdown karate rules, not the original kyokushin version of the rules.

this was a superfigth with seidokaikan karate rules, held at one of the first k-1 events.

Seidokaikan is a kyokushin offshot, and k-1 was created by seidokaikan people as a offshot from the seidokaikan challenges (seidokaikan vs kickboxing, seidokaikan vs savate etc etc).

Andy left kyokushin the year before, and joined seidokaikan (who used almost identical rules, being a kyokushin offshot) because they allowed pro fighting, where kyokushin only allowed amateur competitions.
