@northholt he made the airline what it is today the biggest in europe and chances of crossing the atlantic and providing passengers with what they need for a cheap price so how is he a prick
I was originally referring to the similarities of the 200 to all 737's, this includes the overhead panel which has hardly changed. The NG is just a direct improvement on the 737 classic 3/4/5, and if you're as familiar as me with both the NG and the classic you will know only minor tweaks have been made in the flightdeck, and don't be distracted by thOSE nice LCD displays. It contains the same data but displayed differently. Performance has mostly been altered.
The 737 NG isn't all that different from it's 737-200 grandad, and boeing only had to make minor adjustments to compete it with the a320.
If you remove many of the glass displays the old layout becomes obvious.
In fact many of the switches, packs, bleed air, throttle quadrant, centre console, are exactly like they were on the 737-200, and more so on the classics. Pressurisation, cabin alt, DC/AC digitised and automatic. The 737NG has been performance improved and shows the 737 can compete.
Actually its very different, a lot of the NG is made from composite materials for example. When comparing to the 737-200, it has the obvious CFM-56 engines with the quirky shape due to a design flaw. The throttle quadrant might look the same, but now it has digital autothrottle. Then there's the obvious mandatory change to parts like the rudder servo, which sadly claimed hundreds of lives.
At the end of the day no-one cares whether or not you think the 737NG is a shit aircraft
In my opinion its brilliant and more importantly it has a good range, cheap to run & comfortable!
The A320 & 737-800 are direct competitors, the Airbus is better in some ways and the 737 is better in others. You cant just say that one aircraft is shit when you cant provide a good reason!
Well it has a better range than the 737 and has much better safety and flying features. There are bound to be differences as the 737 was first produced in the 1960`s whereas the a320 was produced in the 1980`s
Anyway, the 737 looks like shit,...lets face it,... compare it with the A320 and the engines are way to close to the ground and look/are small,...it has a pointy nose (1960's design) and then cardboard-pax plug-door type,..puuleaaase! It swings open like a normal house door,...hahaha. When I taxi behind it it always hangs to one side... ciao amigo!
I think most narrowbody planes' cockpit is like this in size. If you're thinking of an A320 cockpit, it's about the same size as 737. I would hardly call NG old fashioned considering the amount of technology on it compared to the analog 737s. All commercial planes have lots of switches even the A380.
Offcourse my friend... I am a Captain on the A320,.. trust me, the 737 is a joke... hahahaha, look at all the switches, what a mess! 743=747-300,??...hahaha also steam-gauges! hahahaha, I love Airbus, as simple as that!
No its not airborne, he just set off the GPWS, all engines are at idle and only the master power is on. Also you can see the guy walking on the ground in the sun visor, plus this isnt even Ryanair, or if it is then they are all suddenly foreigners...
probably true about that last comment there. its rather hard to actually hear an Irish or even English person on Ryanair these days. but i dont mind a bit of cultural diversity =D
I was like wtf, you guys have windshear warning and the co pilot smiling

A direct comparision between the A320 and the NG 737 should only be made between a pilot was has experienced flying both, which sadly isn't me.
The A320 flightdeck layout is very ergonomic and hasn't really altered since it first rolled out, LCD replaces CRT and perhaps minor alterations.
The 737 NG is a direct improvement of the 737 classics, although not a direct replacement.
New more efficent wing, engine, higher mach and service ceiling, digitised flightdeck, LR GPS with IRU's.

The A320 has more range than ANY 737.
MarkvsZach 3 years ago
No it doesnt, the 737-700ER has a range of 5100Nm - enough to make any transatlantic journey.
