  • in the beginning you were playing time to kill from overkill?

  • ohh wow a kramer pacer??

  • awesome! been looking for a comparison all over the place, can you tell me which got more sustain and gain?

  • Bill ;)

  • if anyone had a brain they would know that dime reversed his bridge pickup, so when all you posers are ordering and finding these pickups. make sure its installed correctly.

  • @aryo666 Thanks for helpin me out!

  • are the l500xls active or passive?

  • @starkid5150

both L500xl and Sh13 are passive

  • gotta love those Kramers

  • where might one find the bill and becky one online?

  • @manontheroad

you can order at their website, wildepickups

  • @manontheroad The Bill and Becky is available @ wildepickups, absolutely amazing sound for only $60, if you really want to get that Dimebag sound flip the L500XL around 180 degrees placing the hot coil away from the bridge, that is how Dime did his. In an article that I read he stated that when installed with the hot coil close to the bridge the pickups were a little squirrely for his taste, I don't know the difference because I just installed mine with the 180 flip awesome sound indeed!

  • @manontheroad You can also buy Bill Lawrence USA pickups from Musicians Friend, they are made by Jzchak Wajcman Bill's former partner and co-founder of Bill Lawrence USA,both the BL USA and Wilde pickups are made to the exact specs of the original patent, on the same machinery, coil winders, magnetizers etc. as both men own some of the original equipment from when Bill left the company, I doubt there is a difference in sound and both are around $60, personally I went with the Bill and Becky.

  • @9evilnine9

The Bill Lawrence USA L500XL gives a punchy clean over driven sound

(Think Slayer's "EMG81's" but passive with dynamics you can never get from active pickups) It cleans up great with soft picking and vol roll offs.

The (Bill & Becky) Bill Lawrence L500XL gives you that famous DIME Crunch Overdrive,

how clean or dirty it overdrives depends on how hard you pick...it also cleans up great with soft picking and vol roll offs, but breaks up more with harder picking.

  • @kagunmmm Right on!

  • i messed up by buying the sh13. now i have to find an l500xl

  • Isnt the Dimebucker a hot rodded version of the L500XL?

  • @TheJawProject not at all really, the Dimebucker is something that Dimebag endorsed with Seymour Duncan and started using towards the end of his career (RIP Dime). For most of his career he used the L500XL. Another note, there is a lot of confusion about what COMPANY he used....if you want the same pickup that Dime used, go with a "Bill and Becky/Wilde" version of the L500XL....NOT BILL LAWRENCE USA, they are a replica company, NOT the original.

  • @p3dsman Bill Lawrence USA pickups are not replicas, they are made by Jzchak Wajcman Bill's former partner and co-founder of Bill Lawrence USA who was awarded rights to the name company name when Bill left in 1984. Both the BL USA and Wilde pickups are made to the exact specs of the original patent, from the same materials on the same machinery, coil winders, magnetizers etc. as both men own some of the original equipment from when Bill left the company. Myself, I bought the Bill and Becky.

  • @9evilnine9 Thanks for your help, really appreciate it! I was going to go with the B&B already, and your comment really helps confirm that. Seems like the B&B sound is a bit sweeter and what most are after with the L500XL pups. Thanks again! :)

  • @9evilnine9 I'm not trippin or anything but the wajcman pups don't appear to have the sheilded surround as the bill and becky ones do, that's just my observation based on the look of them. Also on bill's website he shows his patent for the pickup, I would be supprised if wajcman's pickups were the same without some kind of legal battle considering this. I agree with you though bill and becky all the way ftw

  • What kind of wood is the guitar made of ? I must know please.

  • @odnick

the guitar is mahogany body with maple neck and ebony fretboard.

    thanks

  • Man, i´m impressed with your sound.. is just better than everything that exists here on youtube.. can you PLEASE share with me your equipment? What drive is? rack probably? did you record with mic or in output of amp/rack? I have a Jackson jdr 1994 with a L500 L in the bridge... cheers from Brazil!

  • @danielhanger

thx a lot bro.. i'm just using Fractal Axe FX. the output is digital SPDIF that i run to my SPDIF input in my Digidesign MBox 2 Pro. that's it. i also have a guitar with L500l, one of my favorite pickups. btw i wan to go to Brazil if i had money, to come to Gracie. :). do you learn BJJ?

    thanks

  • are the setting actually the same? cos you actually changed t shirt so chances are knobs have been knocked

  • @StormOfAshes1

yes the setting are pretty the same, i use the same preset, and i have mark the knob position. so the difference (if exist) will be very little

  • @aryo666 thanks man, the bill kicks arse then cos its way louder than dimebucker, i have dimebucker in 2 guitars, one sounds shite the other is astounding! crazy things guitars, both the same shape too

  • @StormOfAshes1

i have the same experience with Dimebucker and SD Invader, they are good for some guitars but bad for other guitars. i have put the SH13 and Sh8 in my kramr, they are wonderful, but i put invader in my PRS it sounds Muddy and i tried SH13 on my friend's guitar it sounds so sharp. but believe me i tried Bill Lawrence 'wilde' l500l and l500xl in many guitars they are all sounds great, eve in cheap guitar.

    cheers

  • dimebucker sounded better in my opinion...

  • They have Exactly the Same Sound , because the dimebucker was Designed for dimebag darrell , and dimebag Usedom to Play the Bill Lawrence in His CfH Guitar .... Sorry for my Bad english

  • @MetalT95 similar, but l500xl is half the price. saving money sounds great.

  • @MetalT95 No they do not, This pick up is designed after the BL 500 BUT dime had changed amps from solid state to tube ( Krank ) and SH13 has more mids and the bass is a little looser. I own both in 2 diifferent guitars. Same wood, same electronics, different model Ibby. They sound different. Sh-13 has more up front power for the front end of the amp.

  • this is the video that a was waiting for , thanks dude

  • it seems like during recording of L500XL the amps volume was higher . Yesterday I have ordered one B&B L500XL :)..will see..

Also If you are running the guitars through that fractal axefx most probably it would not matter what pickup you use. It will get any sound from any pickup. Thanks for the video it is the only dimebucker vs L500XL comparison in youtube.

  • Yang main gitarnya gak nampak, kurang seru ah..

  • @arienich kalo yang main gitarnya nampak, mamti disangkanya gitaris cuma modal tampang... maen ga bener tapi punya wajah menawan.. wkwkwkwk

  • @arienich kalo mukanya keliatan, nanti disangka gitaris cuma modal tampang doang. :)

  • bill lawrence win LOL :p

  • @sididelv LOL
