The 2-stroke is most likely going to tire you out faster, theres more clutch work to come up with the torque when you need it, & you don't hook up like you do with a 4-stroke. But the 25 yr old 250r is still capable of winning a pro national race. Power doesn't make you win races at the track, handling/suspension and being plain fast does.

ohtsu 501's are nice...any of the newer radials on yamaha quads hook better than anything else i have tried...they are 20in though...really all depends on type of surface you run on

I wouldn't get to cocky about beating the banshees. stock vs stock, a raptor will take them. If the banshee owner drops a little bit of money into his quad, watch out. A modded two stroke, especially the banshee, because it is a twin cylinder, is not to be fucked with. Also, I'm not trying to bash 4 strokes, I would never own anything but a 4 stroke due to the reliability, and less maintenance, but a built two stroke is a mean quad.
You are right Ariel. A more refined idea is a two stroke bike. Since it weighs less, more compact, and better balance makes it the ideal candidate for jumps and/or stunts.
I own the 07' Raptor 700R SE and the 08' YFZ 450 SE, and they are dead even in stock form. And I have had no problem walking on stock banshees. I want to race a Quadzilla in both 1/4 mile and racetrack to find out who wins.
i am a banshee person and a banshee will out run a raptor but the 450 take them every time its all because of the new four stroke engine its made to run like a 2 stroke use to you bought a 2 stroke if you wanted great acceleration but now the new 450s are the way to go they are the quickest now raptor guys just have to deal with it sorry
um...i agree the 450 motors are fast. but they are fairly even with the big bore guys. the raptor is a very solid quad and stock for stock they should be even. equal mods the 450 mite pull it out. but it should always be close.

Ferraris are some of the most high-performance engines on the planet. I'd say as a company, they have the highest avg performance of any car manufacturer on the planet. So they are raw power (most are even normally aspirated as well)
yamaha is a more edvanced engine builder then ktm easily, if its cube for cube and both engines r built for the same rpm range, yamaha will rule the numbers. ktm puts more into there engines cuz theyre a smaller company. fact is, if they both designed a engine on the same budget, yamaha would when.

craptors suck! Banshee will have more power anyday. Some people just dont know how to ride them. BANSHEEZY i do agree with you. I have a Warrior 350 and a Banshee. The Warrior has more problems than the Shee. Some times after a ride if you shut it off it wont start again. I have a wire on the bars that I take off and touch the celonoid and it will start then. Banshee is pretty much flawless. 2strokes rule handsdown!

ALLRIGHT, i wana explain something here damnit.. u people have slandered a 2stroke as being "unreliable" uhh, so ur saying that swinging 5 valves, a timing chain, electric start AND twice the wires vs all motor and a simple generator is more reliable?They dont require anymore service then your 4stroke quad? airfilter? chain? grease? thats it!? ive goten 5 years out of a she and my buddy got 3 months out of his yfz,bent valves threw a rod, cost him a BOATLOAD, my topend will run what, 200? jesus

I wouldn't get to cocky about beating the banshees. stock vs stock, a raptor will take them. If the banshee owner drops a little bit of money into his quad, watch out. A modded two stroke, especially the banshee, because it is a twin cylinder, is not to be fucked with. Also, I'm not trying to bash 4 strokes, I would never own anything but a 4 stroke due to the reliability, and less maintenance, but a built two stroke is a mean quad.

You are right Ariel. A more refined idea is a two stroke bike. Since it weighs less, more compact, and better balance makes it the ideal candidate for jumps and/or stunts.

I own the 07' Raptor 700R SE and the 08' YFZ 450 SE, and they are dead even in stock form. And I have had no problem walking on stock banshees. I want to race a Quadzilla in both 1/4 mile and racetrack to find out who wins.

i am a banshee person and a banshee will out run a raptor but the 450 take them every time its all because of the new four stroke engine its made to run like a 2 stroke use to you bought a 2 stroke if you wanted great acceleration but now the new 450s are the way to go they are the quickest now raptor guys just have to deal with it sorry

um...i agree the 450 motors are fast. but they are fairly even with the big bore guys. the raptor is a very solid quad and stock for stock they should be even. equal mods the 450 mite pull it out. but it should always be close.

yeah even a two stroke 250 should handle these quads and a 450 bike kills the 250s these days. and yeah this was only nicks 2nd or 3rd day from buying this bike. hes totally new to bikes. he wheelied over a bunch.

Ferraris are some of the most high-performance engines on the planet. I'd say as a company, they have the highest avg performance of any car manufacturer on the planet. So they are raw power (most are even normally aspirated as well)

yamaha is a more edvanced engine builder then ktm easily, if its cube for cube and both engines r built for the same rpm range, yamaha will rule the numbers. ktm puts more into there engines cuz theyre a smaller company. fact is, if they both designed a engine on the same budget, yamaha would when.

unless it is modded a banshee will not keep up with a raptor... and im pretty sure it says RAPTOR 700 EFI on the side of my bike buddy... i don't hate any bikes at all and banshees can be nice when they are modded... but sorry cause stock for stock they dont keep up anymore

On a straight line, acceleration and speed: bike owns quad. DUH. Bikes have generally speaking more horsepower and less weight. In the corners, it's a whole different case ofcourse :)
