  • RIP Ian Curtis, fuck he kicked so much ass.

  • That's good work whoever put it together. Thanks for doing it.

  • R.I.P. Ian

I knew he loved this movie

  • I'm not trying to start an argument or disrespect the dead, but I personally dislike his voice, and it seems like it lacks emotion

  • @bazoombomb Without love there is no emotion - check other JD songs and (Digital, Dead Souls, Autosuggestion etc) you'll hear emotion. However, you are entitled to your opinion - that is what makes humans and music unique. All the best.

  • everything was cool except for that infinite delay at the end of the song.. that's martin hannett's trick, which he uses at the end of isolation ..

  • Best video that I've seen with this song. Thank you :-)

  • TH:A)NKS

  • one of the best song´s ever!!!

  • Es una muy buena canción. La edición me gustó mucho. It is a very good song. I liked the edition much.

  • Curios thing about that:

Love will tear us apart is a very sad song and it makes you feel this way, but if you compare it, it is the happiest song from Joy Division ;D

  • what else could the poor man do , he could have tried laughing perhaps !

    Joke

  • @MsHarrythedirtydog

    Party People

  • Fucking Pressure who needs it he should have told them all to get fucked !

  • joy division use to move papers n trash to one side of the room where they were jamming, and light it on fire in order to keep warm .. that's real dedication in a band, and if anyone has been in a band before they wold know that it isn't easy to stick together..fuck i miss these guys!!! plus martin hannet..

  • i like it .... IAN FOREVER !!

  • Awesome video!

Is this the same version from the compilation album, 'The Best of Joy Division?'

The vocals in this version sound clearer and deeper, and the guitar sounds louder... all of which I like.

  • wow

  • bad ass

  • Good video man—well filmed and I liked how you worked in the personal stuff Ian Curtis was dealing with before his untimely suicide. Kudos.

  • I looovvee this song reminds me of high school, he has an unmistakable voice

  • I've been checking out joy division recently and I listened to transmission and didn't like it, but I really like this one. (and I'm only 15!)

  • There's something about british music....

keep it up Britain and cheers from Germany

  • This is absolutely beautiful. Both the song and the way you cut the video.

  • Very nice!

    Back to 80's!

  • I have to give credit to Lara, this video is amazing!! and the fact that you used the permanent version of the song makes it that much powerful!!! May Ian live forever threw this song!!!

  • Creamatorium smoke always makes me happy! Another artist dies. Yawn....

  • the lyrics are terrible, and the way he sings. But the instrumental is legendary.

  • GREAT

  • Both the actor and ian curtis are freakin gorgeous and awesome. So sad abt Ian =(

  • The Greatest Video Of This Song! Thanks LaRa!!!

  • +¡THANKS!+

    kisses,

    Rachel (Rak edits)

  • @LARAKELAcom

Ian lives in his songs. wish you're still here in this time Ian. Great job Lara

  • @dj2sher Thanks ;)))

    Kisses,

    Rachel.

  • nice job. the fuckers at wma won' t let US users see the original video version. don't they know you can't fuck with Joy Division fans. If we are JD fans that means we have bought everything was published by Joy Division. I have no fucking clue what they are trying to prove!!! Personally I have purchased anything Joy Division I can get my hands on. I own the entire catalogue, the two movies, the reissues, etc.

  • Who made the different guitar sound in the outro to this version? Love it! a perfect song if there ever was one. R.I.P Ian.

  • Well done!

  • @popear thanks!!

  • when you are too sensitive you can write like this, but depression is always near... ian forever.

  • anik...fckng bitch...!

  • Great video & song....

  • what the fuck is the ending segment its trippy but loved it

  • I repeat 2 seconds of the song a few times.

  • *cries*

  • the video does your eyes inn,

  • @LARAKELAcom

I was 16 when Ian Curtis commited suicide. I was a young "closeted queer" boy

who harbored a ridiculous crush on Curtis! His vocals and lyrics just spoke to the

angst of adolescence that many young people identified with!

  • Comment removed

  • @LARAKELAcom

    Though I was underage,

friends were prepared to sneak me into the I-Beam, a club on Haight street in San

Francisco, where Joy Division had scheduled an appearence for their US tour! Then

the news came over the wires as it were. Our hero and icon was dead!

    Thank you for uploading this!

    Great Memories!

    Blaine

  • Thank you, that vid is fuckin great! Gives a special note to a very special song!

  • Growing up in the late 90's/early 2000's in the Bronx, NY, and primarily listening to Hip-Hop throughout my entire youth, I had never heard of a band called Joy Division.

It wasn't until recently, by chance, (staying up late and watching a movie entitled "Control') that I had discovered the band, and was completely blown away!

Thanks to that film my life has been changed forever ;)

  • @scarface82us

I cannot help but being thrilled at your discovery. I truly love hearing that the music

from my youth resonates with younger people! Even more exciting is that there is

so much more for you to discover, and it's all archived right here on YT!

Bauhaus, The Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Sisters of Mercy, Jesus and Mary

Chain, have at it my friend!

    Cheers!

    Blaine

  • gorgeous video

  • i love this song ¡¡¡ I remember in this song that was the love in my life¡¡¡

    i miss U rommY...

  • it's a great song amongst Joy Divisions other 5 or 6 good ones, but how BORING is it that everyone is still romanticising this loser? I prefer the ones that stay alive against all odds, and turn out the sound the sky makes, not having a bit of a whine because life is "Oh! SO hard!" and then quitting. makes me sick

  • Time less lyrics by a genuis brought down by love, rock an roll, and sadly mental illness. RIP Ian curtis

  • This song was poignant the first time I heard it actually i heard a cover of it by hawksley workman wihc i have never found since. This was eight years ago. Being Privy to the circumstances of Ian Curtis's life as far as the film and the documentary are acurate makes the song all the more remarkable. A very aticulate, literate and gifted songwriter.

  • My heart hurts.

    So much emotion.

This song, with this video, had me in tears.

  • Beautiful, I LOVE it! Which version is this?

  • Fal out boy did this song so much justice

  • @ink09 papedypoepie papedepoepie

  • Wow. Good video concept ! It works pretty well... By the way, I made a Control music video too ! Just let me know what you think about it ;)

  • THANKS!! I like your vid too ;)

  • Where can i get the jacket that he wears at 1:04??

  • Comment removed

  • @nzoneaffe its known a Donkey jacket, it was the 70's equivalent to the florescent vest as it was worn by labourers in the UK

  • Love and pain are two sides of the same coin.

Thank you, I like your video. Did you make it?

  • Nice video. I saw the movie a few months ago is sad when she finds ian in the kitchen :(

  • how can anyone even try and protray Ian

  • Even though this band split a long time ago and Ian has been gone a long time as well, still the music and him continue to inspire people around this vast planet. We all miss you Ian. ROCK ON!!!

  • @sawaszek ja również, pozdr

  • best band .. best song .. best biography movie .. LEGEND .. thank you for making this tunes for our hearts .. RIP IAN ;; peace ..

  • Really great video! I was 16 when Ian comitted suicide...I remember listening to this song and Atmosphere over and over again the Spring of 1980.

For two years I cried everytime I heard Ian Curtis's voice.

I wish he had got some help and I still wonder till this day why this gifted and talented man saw suicide as his only option.

    RIP IAN CURTIS!

  • @MARKSVIGIL

Ian curtis despite being very talented was a very unhappy and complicated young man. He was epileptic, he hated his married life as well as his life in macclesfield and just wanted to be free. Aside from that he was a jerkass according to his widow, he cheated on her and neglected his daughter. But regardless his music will live on in the eyes of fans of his work.

  • @pixargod

His behaviour can be explained by Bipolar disorder, epilepsy and epilepsy drugs.

  • @MARKSVIGIL Have you read the book Touching from a Distance by Debbra Curtis? If not you should check it out. Its incredable but very sad. He didn't want to go on any longer, just with the sezires and problems he had. Remember at that time we did have good meds like we do now. I miss Ian Curtis very much wish he was alive today....
