  • @Twinky666666 not as much as we want the red of ours

  • i'm Scot-Irish, so i say ERIN NEBRAUGH!!!! i'm a mick and proud of it! :D

  • god bless scotland

  • Mon the scots !!!!!!!!!!

  • Hold on what about the Irish invading Scotland, the Scotti tribe? And helping England and Wales fight Scotland in the wars of Independence?Scotland still won up against them all.The Irish never changed sides, like you see in the film.I love Ireland but they have invaded and colognized to just like the English. And anybody who thinks Scotland is subsidised bye England or the rest off the UK,should read the McCrone report, and the GERS report. And see the truth that you dont.

  • @legandrydirk so incorrrect 80% of the rep of ireland hate the english

  • @JOHNSderry the english or the scottish? or both

  • @JOHNSderry Lets make that 100%

  • Think Imma go hear Amy Macdonald sing it

  • 42 people don't have national pride.

    Epic song.

  • The Scots are always whining about how they were done in by the English. But they were happy to join forces with the English and screw their blood brothers the Irish out of their land particularly in Ulster which has some of the best farmland in Ireland. I still wish them well but nobody in Ireland will forget their betrayal.

  • @rapier0954 Betrayal! lol it has been explained already, ireland played their part in the wars of independance. your country is divided and so is ours. there are unionists and there are nationalists.

  • @campbellgs Yeah you are right. We Celts have never been any good at pulling together which has allowed others to divide us and rule us.

  • Roy Williamson was one of the greatest musicians ever. The Corries are one of my favourite bands. Greetings from Germany.

  • @sinen0mine

    meine auch. Grüße aus Hannover

    DrDeCh's mum (Gaby)

  • it's too fuckin slow, it's for auld wummin rinsing their teeth in a glass o brimmo.

goin tae bed....... bang it up boy's ra ra ra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • English ansestors where are greedy rapists who thought the could take whatever they wanted but where they they wrong ,scotland should become an independent country once again we are better off without that shit heap of a country you call england

  • when will we see your like again? very soon !

  • Couldn't have found a better version

  • 1780 scots (like) and 41 brits (don´t like)?

  • 41 people are ars holes

  • It's funny the english that go out of their way to search for these videos, that scots like myself put on when doing the weights or cleaning the house ;) to try and degrade with their shyte. go be proud of ur own country and stop ur feeble bigotted pish talk because ur jealous ur not scottish urself.

  • @campbellgs If ya look though the comments you will see i asked if this was scotlands national amthem and said it's a nice song then seen your scotish pete being racist fuck towards english actualy so geet your facts right eh

  • @englishforeverr You should know that us Scots are proud though, we are really proud and all the history and crap makes us up in the England's face, its not really that we have anything against English people, just England.. i mean I have loads ae English mates, but in the 6 nations I would support the country playing England.. its just pride, thats all.

  • @englishforeverr What do you really expect though. your obviously looking for it with your ID english forever, so don't try and make everyone else out to be in the wrong you little fanny.

  • @campbellgs So if my name has got english in it im looking for it? aw fuck man ya racist barstad get a grip

  • @englishforeverr i looked at previous comments you made. it's clear ur were plying dumb saying is this scotland's national anthem when u obviously searched for it, and in doing so knew u would get a response cause of ur ID. so i think u need to get a grip. im done wasting my time with u.

  • @campbellgs, I am proud to be English but I'm also proud of my Scottish roots/heritage and I don't see why that's such a problem. My surname is Scrimgeour which is an old Scottish name, the first Scrimgeour recorded was Alexander Scrymgeour (different spellings as in them days no-one really knew how to spell so spelt it like they said it) who was appointed Royal Banner Bearer of Scotland by William Wallace, who wouldn't be proud of that?

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBobbers1, English because I was born here, doesn't stop me from having Scottish blood because I have a Scottish grandad, born in Glasgow, Possil Park

  • @TheMitchy93 Sorry bout the other guy some Scots can be dicks just like any other nationality.

  • @MrDizer10, Not to worry, I understand that wherever you go or whatever you say there's always some arse who has to say something. Thankyou though :)

  • @MrBobbers1, I know, I said I was English.

  • And stood against him(gainst who!!!) proud Edwards army(bastards) and sent him home word(fuck off!!!!!!!)

  • I live in Germany but my dad and the most of my family´s from scotland and i love this land :-)

    This Song is awsome,too

  • Sing it loud and sing it proud!

  • I'm English and I don't understand two things about this song:

1.why does Scotland measure itself against England in a nearly national anthem? Frankly it's a bit of a bore to be the object of an anti English song. My countrymen would have died at Bannockburn too. We don't sing about other countries Kings or people in our "national" songs.

    2. Scotland is "free" anyhow...as much as any country is....and our British ancestors fought and died together...and oppresssed together

  • @stalbanslad hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! free? free?? ye ok then thats why the money that we get goes down to england and we get.. about 35% back? i dont knw the exact mount. and plus this song is about the scottish dying. its the english fault that anyone had to die.

  • @MrRandomer001 we get less than 10% back cause they wanted to open a carbon capture station in fife it would have cost 1 million to build and remember the Scottish economy pays over 13 million to England and they wont even give us back a million go figure vote for a independent Scotland

  • @stalbanslad you are another example of what English schooling about history does to the English's concept of "Britain" and our ancestors who fought and died against each other, why not read up on it properly then come back.

  • @stalbanslad no, the only reason ANYONE had to die was because the English got greedy and tried to take over Scotland. Scotland is one the proudest countries in the world. Speaking for myself - and I'm guessing many other scots - what our ancestors did for us has allowed us to be the country we are today.Don't be petty, its not against England or English people, it's about the brutal murders and atrocities that happened in the past, that our small country fought through.

  • @dancetotheradio1 true that

  • @dancetotheradio1 Well said mate.

  • @stalbanslad a bore? really?? no listen right if the english left scotland be then there wouldn't have been death. but no they were as power hungry and selfish as they are today. the english don't care about scotland they care for our money. we are not free. we get 10% of the money we give to the english so we are not. if you want to make fun of theSCOTTISH natinal anthem get your facts right

  • I am Polish, but with all my heart I say Scotland be free again!!!!

  • @zdymek And do you shout "Up the IRA" when you hear Irish songs? Perhaps your grandfather was Irish, or a great-grandmother makes you feel Scottish. Whatever.

  • Thanks to years of going to rugby matches I always shout wankers after Proud Edwards army.

  • @PopeWithDaScope "Bastards" and football grounds. I've always preferred "Bastards". I think "Wanker" is a Cockney word.

  • @TheRorySteel Fair enough.

  • @PopeWithDaScope spoken like a true scotsman!

  • the best version of one of the greatest anthems ever !!!!!

    '

  • Can somepony please give me a link to a version in Gaelic? I'm sure it's called fhlùir na h-alba, or something similar to that.

  • This reminds me of Braveheart :-)

  • Scotland must act quickly, Scottish people must act quickly...what really worries the English is what happens to them...when they lose control...Scotland for Scotland

  • @scotlandsdj so true they take 13 million from our economy and wont even give us 1 million to build a carbon capture station or what ever its called I don't know but that shows how much they care about us so vote for independents lets be free once more

  • Happy st andrews day :-)

  • Seit froh dasIhr Stolz sein dürft....

  • j'adore ! ♥ ♥ Quelle différence avec le nôtre !

  • Yep were the kilt wearing, bagpipe playing, haggis eaters, and I couldn't be more proud.

  • right im off te the pub tay sing this

  • 39 people have no souls.

  • Scotland is independent because if it wasnt for the SCOTS it would be another part of England but it is called SCOTLAND not England. we are apart of GB because it's easier for the politicians because they then can keep more money so STOP the arguements seriously. Scotland is independent to the Scottish and is not independant to the English. JUST GET OVER IT!!

  • @looiish "Scotland is independent to the Scottish"

Wake up. Scotland is NOT independent, not to England, not the rest of the world, and not to the Scots themselves. Until Scotland has its own embassies around the world, it's not independent. Until it has a seat in the UN, it's not independent. Until there's a Scottish Olympic team, a Scottish Foreign Minister, a Scottish Defence Minister, a Scottish rep at NATO, a Scottish nuclear policy, it's not independent. Not even pretend.

  • @PatchesRips Listen mate... If you havnt noticed. Our country is called Scotland not England. so that counts as independant. We choose what we do with our country not the English. and just because we dnt have an embasy or a seat in the un or any of that other crap. Does NOT mean we are not independant. We are called SCOTS not english. which is independant. We are in charge of what we do = independant. and its the scots that make up scotland. And we are NOT owned by the english.

  • @looiish "Our country is called Scotland"

Might be, one day. Right now it's called The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. See if you can find the word "Scotland" on your passport. If Scotland is a country, why are people sweating the fact that technically speaking, Holyrood doesn't have the right to hold a referendum, and it can only take place on the basis that the prime minister doesn't actually disallow it?

    (cont'd)

  • @looiish (cont'd) How explain to me how you can be "independent" if someone from another country has the legal right to prevent you from even having a referendum to become... INDEPENDENT (and why would you have to have one if you already are?)? Canadian provinces and US and Australian states are more independent than Scotland--their national governments do NOT have the right to suspend or abolish THEIR legislatures. Scotland doesn't even have THAT yet.

  • @looiish "And we are NOT owned by the english."

Sorry, but while they have the right to abolish Scotland's government, YOU ARE. That's WHY you need to hold that vote.

  • @PatchesRips WE bow down to the english when we want to and guess what WE AINT sayin so so go back to ure wee hole in the groon ya turncoat

  • @PatchesRips That's why we've been battling for years to be independant! Alba gu brath!

  • @ShRiNkInGMuShRoOmS Exactly. Now please tell looiish!

  • As an English person my National anthem come to me before this one, but with my greatest love being from Scotland this is a close second and inspires the same sense of patriotism. Great Britain forever

  • Scotland is an independent country. we are just still part of Great Britain.

  • @littlemsstrangeness "Scotland is an independent country."

Not yet it isn't. IRELAND is. You guys still have a ways to go.

  • @PatchesRips Do you mean southern Ireland is independent? Because Northern Ireland is part of the UK still.

  • @Peaceformen "Do you mean southern Ireland is independent? Because Northern Ireland is part of the UK still."

True enough. Like Scotland, that can only change by a vote of the people.

Mind you, the Northern Irish are going to look rather ridiculous if Scotland, physically attached to England, leaves the union, and they continue to cling. I think Scotland's secession from the UK would help Northern Ireland grow up and finally sort out its place in the world.

  • @PatchesRips Well said and I must say i'd agree with you on that topic. :) Thats democracy the will of the people and i think the Scots and Irish would be better without the english, we have a habit of fucking other people's countries up :P

  • @Peaceformen Well, you take the bad with the good. For all the harm the Empire caused in the world, it also spread the English language, the rule of law, the idea that people living in a country ought to have some say in its governance (ironically), and the evolution of some pretty decent places to live, like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and, to be fair, the United States. At least we're at the point now where no one's going to march into Scotland and force it to stay.

  • hrm Im young and thats why im shy

  • May the Auld Alliance last forever and always!

    Hail from France !

  • Eeery! I LIKE IT! Flower of Scotland sounds just like American folk music of the 60's...like something from Bob Dylan or Peter, Paul and Mary.

  • Its a great anthem by the way

  • @thewalls111 Yeah it's good, but I dont think it's the national anthem.

  • @Djmadman12 Its not the official anthem, god save the queen is the british anthem however it has the highest percentage of votes by far to BE the scottish anthem and if your ever at any event in scotland i'd like to see you make them sing god save the queen instead of flower of scotland :L so its pretty much considered the anthem, i think the term for an unofficial anthem like this is a defacto or something similar?

  • I'm English but thanks to my Scottish grandad I knew the words to Flower Of Scotland off by heart before I knew the words to God Save the Queen.

  • @TheMitchy93 that sumhin to be proud of nowin the scottish national anthem before ur own

  • @TheMitchy93 Fuck off your english

  • @MrBobbers1 at least he has scotish blood

  • Please excuse my ignorance. I can remeber years ago someone on black and white tv singing this all the time. I think it was somone called Andy.

  • I always thought the scotch national anthem was Donald wheres yer troosers.

  • @oldpangloss "Scotch" is racist for a start. "Scotch" is a brand of whiskey. "Scot" or "Scottish" mate.

  • @Dwemerkin *whisky

  • look it this way u add aw scotlands islands an were bigger wance the oils done a bet scotland will get independince as aw the english do is rape a country ae it resources then leaves scottish an proud :D

  • FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 37 people are in edwards army...;-)

  • unlucky the night boys still scoland till i die ;;

  • I'm not scottish, but i love scotland:) and the scottish people.

  • When the English sing their national anthem it sounds like a funeral derge. When the Scots sing this it sounds like a recognition of proud Scottish resistance against their agressors. Great Anthem. Unfortunately I'm an English unrealistic republican.

  • gives me shivers

  • Best song ever written hands doon!

  • no its 2/3 scotland and the rest ireland and wales and then england dead last

  • @creamtt go fuck ursell

  • kingdom itself hence it is not represented on the flag. I think it was only in the 1960s or so that it was reaffirmed in Wesminster that Wales was seperate from England!

  • For the Clans!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want to hear this in Gaelic

  • @walljo05

What nonsense the united kingdom is made up of two kingdoms England 1/4 and Scotland 3/4 Wales is a Principality even the union jack is made up of just the two flags of St Andrew and St George.

  • @TheBobconnelly You missed the northern irish flag and also the fact that wales wasnt considered a country at the time the union was made/updated. Last time i checked countries weren't based on what their flags show, e.g. wales is not inhabited by dragons. Take a history lesson before you rubbish my statement.

  • @TheBobconnelly It also has Ireland's flag.

  • @TheBobconnelly "united kingdom is made up of two kingdoms" Great Britain was a new kingdom in 1707 made up of two former kingdoms (ie Scotland and England) then a further union in 1801 with the Kingdom of Ireland created the UK of GB & Ireland. Now of course only part of the former Irish kingodm is in the UK. There are three crosses in the Union Flag representing Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. When GB was created Wales was legally (though never popularly) part of the English

  • @walljo05 if you were born in england ur english if u where born in scotland ur scottish if you where born in irland ur irish if u where born in wales then ur welsh

u cant say im half englash queter scottish nd a fourth irish it dosnt work like that if you were born in scottland u cant be irish yes u can be british but not irish , i have family all over the world but im scottish

  • @OhItzLauren "if you were born in england ur english etc" I don't think you can dictate what other people are so easily. Cliff Richard was born in India but he isn't Indian. People will identify themselves as they wish and if someone says they are half Scottish half English (as my wife does) becuase she has one Scots parent and one English parent then who's to say differently? On the other hand her brother sees himself as English. It is their choice :-)

  • @gaconnochie uv got a point but id say where you where born is what u r like if someone was born in spain but there parents are from russia or somethin thenn id say they where spanish but people have there opinions

    byeee :D

  • @OhItzLauren "someone was born in spain but there parents are from russia or somethin thenn id say they where spanish but people have there opinions" Someone could be born in Spain from Russian parents and not consider themselves Spanish though. What you'd call them, or what I'd call them, is neither here nor there which is the point I was trying to make. People will define themselves. Place of birth is often just incidental. As I said Cliff Richard was born in India!

  • @gaconnochie i didnt uderstand a word of that anyway i need to stop talking to u ur married nd im only 13 nd im only in my 3rd year off high school

its diffrent if i new u but i dont so bye

p.s not trying to be rude js

  • @walljo05 You seem to ignore that Scotland and Ireland were acquired through aggressive expansion, not by willing annexation. The English were notorious for how oppressive they were to their neighbors; which is why Ireland rebelled and kicked the crowns ass. The UK is not a willing unification but one that was once maintained through oppressive rule up until recently, when the Irish finally said they had enough (The Easter Rising).

  • @Liddlelegrande So was most of France so was most of Germany, Italy and other european countries.

You're gonna hold a 3 century old grievance? Why whats the point? There is no point, and youre forgetting that King James the first A SCOT, brought the union together...funny that isnt it...

  • @walljo05 With the fall of Rome Italy was divided into city states (Venice, Milan, Genoa, Rome and Sicily). These cities were full of wealth aristocrats who were able to afford to raise armies in order to protect their own interests. Italy was divided but regardless it was a country. The same with Germany (although Hanover was more of a family) Dresden, Bavaria, Brandenburg, and Würtenberg. Germany was Germany and there are other countries that are linked with German heritage.

  • @walljo05 I.e. Austria and Switzerland are bother Germanic countries, but Germany does not feel a need to reclaim Vienna. Nor does Germany feel the need to reclaim northern Poland as Prussia was a German state. There is no reason for England to lay claim to Scotland or Norther Ireland other than their own economic interests.

  • @walljo05 I'm half english, quarter irish and in that last quarter is scottish and welsh!!

  • @walljo05 haha agree!

  • @walljo05 What piece of land does Ireland share with anyone else? The horrors we have had to endure under British rule, including the mutilation of our country with partition. I really hope Scotland gets indpendnce. Its obviously a matter for the Scots but they are well able to stand on their own two feet and also it would really make the position of the "rump UK" in Ireland very precarious and hopefully, finally, bring about total freedom and indpendence for Ireland. Best of luck Scotland!!

  • Thumbs up if you want Scotland to become an independent country !

  • @glasgow1234 im scottish but nooooo i dont want us to become an independant country

proud to be scottish and also proud te be british

  • @glasgow1234 did so.

  • Some Scots here want independence, but will be the first to leave Scotland if an independent Scotland failed.

  • Isnt this anthem about hundreds of battles England vs Scotland and they win one and decide to make a song about it?
