The biggest let down is that it is not small and mobile so it's not for use everywhere all the time and at the same time you can't use it for a home media device. It really is a BIG Ipod touch and nothing else. Yes you get the screen that's cool but that's it. And it's not cheap either.

I bought it 1 year (!!!!) ago, for about 500 dollars and it offers all that things the iShit does not. USB, camera, 160GB harddrive, 3G (optional), flash ;).. Beside, of course it's a tablet with Touchscreen!

It seems like this would be great for college students, instead of buying each text book, you could download your text books, then they are lighter, and if you are planning to buy enough to take you through a 4 year college, I believe (I have not done the math) you would save money by getting this and downloading the text books.

But I could be wrong.

But it would be lighter than carrying around all those books...

Read up before you speak, it's not the same as a large iPod Touch, here's what it can do in ADDITION to the iPod functions: 1) run Pages (Mac's Word program) ; 2) run Keynote (Mac's better than PowerPoint presentation program) ; 3) hook-up through 3G cell phone service ; 4) surf the web in a size large enough to read it ; 5) allow you to show your photos not only large, but carry them over to your friends, instead of having them come to your computer to see them (like across town!)

Kinda funny that this failure of a product has hardware which is dated to 2003 in it.

It's got little going for it - it's cheaper to buy a Netbook with a touch screen that has better hardware and more user-customisable software (i.e. you're not bound down by the iPhone OS).

What you do with it, is walk somewhere without dragging a laptop that weighs a ton, get there & work like you've got a real computer with you, type on nearly lifesize keyboard, rather than the tiny stuff on the iPod Touch, and when looking at a detailed picture, you see all the details rather than them being so small you can't see them as on the Touch! I can see me using this and taking a picture to her on it to show to her, rather than asking her to come to the computer room to see it!

I will definitely get one, I checked all the specs and it will be fast, awesome, and do most anything an iBook can do, only weigh less, have touch screen, have longer battery life, be much smaller, etc. It will be able to use Pages (Word), Numbers (Excel), and Keynote (better than PowerPoint!).

The surface & the sensory for finger touches under the glass are brand new technology, better than anything else out there. It's a gotta have thing!

It obviously doesn't fit in a pocket, but neither does an iBook, and it does almost as much, weighs less, costs less, and you can bet there are going to be dozens of people making coverings & cases for it to protect it etc. It would also solve the problem I find myself running into at work and at home when I want to show someone the web page or a graphic or photo that I'm looking at on the computer without them having to get up & walk over to see it, I can take it easily to them!

They've worked on it for Years, Apple rarely ever gets anything wrong, so guaranteed minimal if any glitches. It will have Pages available, which is Apple's Word equivalent, and which can both import and export documents as Word documents, but which doesn't force it's formatting on you nearly as much as MicroFascist's Word does.
