DON'T use white spirit - it will make the vinyl brittle and horrid. It's old enough already! Use good old washing up liquid (avoiding the label) if you can't afford the Real thing - am Record Cleaner.....oh! and a couple of hundred pounds on a decent record player. Great tune.
I don’t think even software like Audacity could even start to remove background noise from this old 45 recording. Love the ending REJECTED. Bring back the old automated turntables
@tigersandsharks101 Thank goodness for digital. As Kenny Everett said about CDs in October 1985, "No crackles, no plops, just music." At the time of this single's release, digital music was on its way. Indeed, the first digital recording studios started up in 1981, so the other mass media changes were inevitable. PS. try spraying the disk with water, which seems to work quite well.
@tigersandsharks101 PPS This track was made available on 'The Electric 80s' CD compilation, and also on BBC TV's soundtrack album 'Ashes-to-Ashes', series one.
Please send that record to me and I will clean it on my machine! Sacrilege!!!!!!
