Black Metal is also one of the most controversial styles of metal, and music all together, and that's what I like about it. I could give a fuck about the satanic nature of some bands, but I don't. To me, it's just about the music, everything else aside. You take away certain elements that make you who you are, and have reached the pinnacle of what you create in the genre, people almost idolize you, and are in awe. DB accomplished it with ISD and a couple other albums, but they're lacking now..

No. Black Metal will always be what it is, even if Dimmu Borgir went mainstream, and fired Vortex and Mustis. I think Dimmu Borgir really needs to sit back, and re-think what they've been doing ever since In Sorte Diaboli. Abrahadabra is good, but lacks in comparison to their older albums, and even if Silenoz composes their music, I still think Mustis and Vortex executed their parts better than anyone who could ever replace them, that's why they need them back, no fucking matter what.

They are the ones who put black metal where it is now. Without them noone would even know what black metal is. Bathory gorgoroth and venom definately pioneered it but Dimmu pretty much led the breakthrough.
