Sure, LBJ needed Republican votes to pass it, but MORE Democrats than Republicans voted FOR the Civil Rights Act (in BOTH the House AND the Senate). Look it up anywhere.

1. Apparently Reid has forgotten that it was the Republicans that abolished slavery. In fact, in the presidential election of 1864, former Union General George B. McClellan ran against Lincoln and vowed to end the war if elected. 2. Reid should acknowledge that there is too much crap in this bill. It's 2,000 pages long!
