  • Love this arrangement My high school men's choir did this piece for the East Allen Honor Choir in Fort Wayne IN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As hard as it is to imagine, I want to hear a mixed chorus arrangement of Dies Irae. With the right mix of women's and men's voices, it could sound amazing.

  • @MisterSpazzy This arrangement by Z. Randall Stroope, the most popular one, is written for a men's choir. We are singing it in the Colorado Men's All State choir.

But if you really want an awesome song. Look up Lamentations of Jeremiah by Stroope. It's incredible.

  • This is a very, very, very "pale" version of the version sung by the 2008 Texas All-State Men's Choir....this sounds like a waltz compared to the other version...

  • I like this song a lot more with a women's choir, they make those high notes in the beginning sound so much more intense.

  • We sang this song for All State Choir! I love it so much.

  • i wanna do this song so badly in our choir. Oh well, I'm going to make All-West and sing it. haha

  • check out st.marys international school in japan mens choir or varsity ensemble. not that they have this song online, but they have a great choir. they sang this song a while back.

this song is awesome though. but i think this group can put out more power with such a large group, or maybe its where the camera is placed or its recording thingymabob is bad.

  • we got half the people in our choir and we sing it like quad F

  • It might be the sound quality of the recording, but its sounds a bit too quiet when the music says to sing at Fortissimo

  • I'm tear-ring up right now...powerful...This is what men should/could be doing with their time and energy...acting as a Team to bring such phenomenal strength and beauty to the planet...TY!

  • @countess16 fucking gay man why u tearing up homo

  • my men's choir just went on a trip today and we did this song and were directed by Dr. Stroope. he was changing stuff during the song because "he had the composer's permission" haha. he was an amazing director.

  • yeah, i was there at rowan today too. it was a great experience with stroope, giving a lot of exposure to true musicality.

  • i was there too.

  • same here!

    hey mike it's hiten

  • i was there also, from Episcopal Academy, this sounded amazing, does anyone know where I can find the audio recordings from that day?

  • i was there on thursday

  • haha i was there too hi dane(its kyle lmfao)

  • i was there - a lot of good stuff except the low bass section sucked (at least the day i went)

  • I LOVE this Dies Irae! I knew I wasn't looking for Verdi's. Now I know - it's by Stroope!

    :D

  • I love the men's arrangement much more than the womens'. It's darker, not quite as sharp and bright.

  • I got the wonderful opportunity to sing this arrangement in a choir with a little more than 200 members. It was incredible.

  • We are singing this same song in my choir, in a much slower tempo mind you.

  • It's supposed to be fast like this.
