I'm thinking of getting this unit but I do not own nor do i plan to get an ipod. Would this voice search feature work if I have just a USB drive with all my music? And what would you say is the failure rate if I just search by title?
@thetruedarknight The DNX9980HD. Sadly I will not be demoing this unit now that I will be upgrading to an iPad install. I will be demoing that however when everything gets completed.
Is there a volume level for the voice prompt on the DNX 9960. As I watch your video it appears that the DNX 9960 talk back to you to some extent. I'm unable to hear any voice prompts but the voice guidance work just fine.
Hey V, when you asked it prompted with letter or line number @ 2:55. Maybe if you'd said "m" you could have then asked for "master of puppets" next. I'm surprised someone else didn't notice. Let me know how it goes, give it a try! I plan on picking this unit up by the end of the week : )

is it possible to sift through iPod directories with the steering wheel up/down - track controls? And if so, can you "select" a particular item from the steering wheel, or is everything screen-driven?
@cpkdude You can skip tracks with the steering wheel controls as long as the adapter is programed to do so. You can not use your controls to select items in the directories.
another question Blue, is that normal when i start the car that i have to eject on the screen en reconnect my iphone on screen everytime? when i start the car while its still playing i can see the time running but the volume mutes? no sound comes out. so i press eject on the screen i wait i sec and click again to connect and its good... iphone issues?
@WESTWOODBEATS Thats an issue where the iPhone auto switches to BT audio when the unit connects to it through BT. You can switch it from the iPhone by selecting the app that is playing and hitting the BT symbol at the bottom right, select DOCK CONNECTOR. Its just something you have to deal with.

@WESTWOODBEATS The iPhone does not support BT SMS notify. Most phones do not support that feature.
