She was a superb stage Norma in the mid-late 80s/early 90s, noble and majestic on stage, with a beautifully trained, powerful voice. It was a dramatic soprano, like a dark, rich red Chateauneuf wine, with considerable flexibility in coloratura passages. Good piano singing and an excellent trill, too! My only peeve was her short top. She labored for her high Bs and Cs. Still, Rosalind Plowright was arguably the last really good stage Norma we have seen. Gruberova, Eaglen et al? NOT a chance!

Quite a wonderful production starting with the beautiful orchestration leading into the aria. The setting is choreographed beautifully as well...in all quite a lovely sight to see...Then the aria begins and I tend to like it quite a lot. This lady is new to me, but I really like how she sings IN TUNE! BRAVA! She's quite lovely, and I would like to hear more of her because in this, she seems to do quite a polished,tender rendition...BRAVA!

Fantastic ! What a great staging for a concert, this concert was a special affair showing quite what British singers can do.
