  • I did what you did, I was prompted to restart my computer after disabling my drivers and when I launched F3 (from the application in its directory) it didn't even open, just a black screen instantly, so I cant even make it to the menu any more.

  • Use fraps

  • question wont this make this game run with no sound. so in other words whats the point.

  • @hostelowner answer..yeah ur rite..no sound just play wid no hearing :S

  • when i did this it just crashes even before the menu comes up

  • cause i got the steam version

  • after i did this it says cannot run fallout no sound device detected...

  • @rebantus run through fallout.exe in game folder.....

  • doesnt work for game off the year edition

  • this is bullshit get your facts right

  • You are clearly a genious... i keed... this caused my game to crash before the menu even came up for me to select New Game it does what it says.. fixes the crash for the new game.. because it crashes before that.

  • @magicrecorder the same thing happened to me this is getting pretty aggravating just to get this game to work

  • @magicrecorder hey i have a fix for that if you want... not really sure if u have that prob fixed but i know how to fix it if you want :)

  • How does my fallout not working have to do with my fucking sound?

  • @angelofequilibrium u r rite.. this question was also in my mind when i got this problem resolved by this method.. its can b briefed by the developers

  • @angelofequilibrium yeah i had the same problem too but i figured that if i deleted the high definiton real teck audio driver that it would install in success so i went to control panel system and maintence then i went to drivers and deleted the high definiton real teck audio driver then restarted computer, as soon as it was loaded it said installing new driver, so i waited about 2 mins and it succesfuly installed letting me play fallout 3 :D

    Hope this helped

  • Doesn't work. When I tried to run after disabling the sound driver, it said that there was no sound driver detected (imagine that) and that it couldn't run.

  • @DarthKeyrus man man man man man man man man...in the vid i told not to run the game from desktop coz isthat shortcut it not to the fallout.exe...its for the launcher.exe..and whenever started from launcher.exe it says NO sound Driver found...go to installation folder and run fallout.exe

  • @khaqansaleemchanner And I did just that, and it still said that there was no sound driver.

  • still crashes and theres no sound.

  • theres no point in playing a game without hearing anything

  • Oh my bad lol but i still dont have it but will yu plz answer my smg i sent you.

  • I dont have a fallout.exe folder is it because i bought the game of the year edition?

  • @aimbot211 dear its not a folder its a file named fallout3.exe or game.exe in the fallout 3 installation folder

  • @khaqansaleemchanner Thanks for nothin

  • @aimbot211 same i bought game of the year edition and it wont work

  • Doesn't work at all! It didn't even show the screen and crashed

  • @acemaster600 u might b using windows xp or ur version of game is not full instalation type..i.e it has been extrected through some method..but its not the problem.. u have nothing to do with that icon/exe becos its a loader

  • @khaqansaleemchanner no i figured it out i don't have a good enough graphics card :( should of checked before i bought it :)

  • do you need a game disc for this game if you got it off of steam?

  • mine still wont work

  • @OnepieceDubandSub ur error???

  • @khaqansaleemchanner yeah i dont know whats up it lets me still play new vegas but it just wont let me start or load a game on fallout 3

  • @OnepieceDubandSub man many of friends here follow the steps upto Disabling the sound device.. but still they do 1 mistake..they either load the game through desktop game.exe or the use loader.exe which is present in the Start menu games folder... tha one present on the desktop is also shortcut to the loader.exe.. so use the game exe present in your installation folder..

  • @khaqansaleemchanner no i did start it up from inside the fallout 3 folder the error happens when i try to load or make a new save

  • wow this worked but i wanna play with sound =p

  • thanks a lot!!!!! my only mistake was starting the fallout3 from the games folder in windows 7. I can't believe this :)

  • @TheTanasko92 Chill man :P

  • No sound device found, Fallout 3 cannot run.

  • I downloaded mine off of steam will this still work?

  • wait, doesn't that mean there wouldn't be any sound the entire game

  • no sound device dettected, fallout 3 can't run.......wtf

  • @shwagtarded odnt use Fallout 3 loader.exe...use Game.exe in the installed directory.

  • @khaqansaleemchanner what do yo umean, i don't get it, you mean fallout3.exe, i can't find game.exe

  • @shwagtarded yeah that was what i was talking about... fallout3.exe ..people usually use to loader.exe from game directory in start menu(Vista and win 7)..dont use that.

  • @shwagtarded I will try but if it doesn't work ima be pissed at bethesta

  • look dude ive started to give up thats y im geting fallout new vegus pls let me no if new vegus gets this error

  • @megaricardas it works for both windows XP and vista/7 users. make sure that Uve disabled both of the default sound drivers and devices. Dont run the game from the GAMES directory in the start menu (if u r using Windows 7) bu use FALLOUT3.EXE from the game folder were uve installed it. still if u find trouble do tell me.

  • @khaqansaleemchanner nevermind dude i figured it out it was the video card that made this ugly problem for me, ow well

  • @khaqansaleemchanner im getting the prob still i disable my sound device (the only 1 i have) went to my bethesda softworks folder and clicke on fallout 3 no the launcher pls tell me wats up my compter is windows xp

  • @emantharp5 bro can you tell me how you disabled your sound device..by disabling sound device i meant to diable the SOUND DRIVER..you can access sound driver through control panal or simple cliking right on MY computer and then klik the hardware(or similar option like devices/drivers) then when ull acess th drivers u will find your driver and by right kliking disable it..if you still having problem in locating the driver in Xp plz google its path coz im afraid ive forgo it exactly

  • @khaqansaleemchanner it wont let me dis able it says legacy audio driver when i raght click it the only options i get r update, properties , and scan for hardware changes.
