This is the problem for great musicians/composers. They're forced to depend on the efforts of others to get their work complete. And sometimes the only people they can get aren't up to the task. Of course the drummer and the guitar tech should have been taken out and executed immediately after this show.
Original Garage Punk right there. I think Arthur Lee was Americas first Punk rocker way before the sexpistols, Clash, Ramones, Stooges or anyone. They called it garage punk as far back as 1959 but the ramones got the title in the mid 70s because of some magazine. So the next time someone says "Blacks started Punk" you better believe them. well.. maybe the first punker was an unknown and chinese for all we know but this is the first documented Punk song.
when you do you get to hear someone flow with such slack as some out of tune guitars, and still mow down all the punk groups of that time of this performance. LONG LIVE MR.LEE thanks for posting this gem
@stoker20: Dude this was in INCREDIBLE song for 1966! But this is by far the most LAGGING live version that I've ever heard! That drummer is playing the tempo with such a lousy energy it's bringing the whole song down! Looks like the guy is more comfortable in a cowpunk/punkabilly outfit than playing with Arthur Lee. That's basically the tempo he's taking the song at. It needs to me MUCH MORE frantic than THAT.

I've you post a video that is poor quality but has good audio that's great.
If you post a video of this poor quality and sound to match ...why post it all, it damn sucks!
...and I'm good friends w/ Johnny Echols.

Me dió mucha pena que Arthur Lee muriera. Pero me consuela poder oir su música y disfrutar de ella. Porque su música es eterna.
