I love, love, LOVE this version...... If I were ever to get married again (highly unlikely given I am a crabby old lady) I would have this played at my wedding....
This was so beautiful it had me in tears! God bless you girls!!!! I'm a fan of the Brideshead Revisited series, and what you did with Geoffrey Burgon's piece adds a depth of spirituality that is very much a part of the novel's main theme: grace. And what greater grace is given to us than our Lord's presence in the Eucharist! Ave Verum Corpus!
Nice song, but not a proffesinal performance of it. Why do they use mic in a church room with good accustic?! When girls sing in that register the vocie will carry any way...
Thanks for posting! I put it in my playlist along with my Brideshead clips! The original miniseries, of course... I think I was 2 when they came out but I saw them for the first time when I was 15. Love Waugh's Brideshead ever since!
This is so beautiful. But then anything written by Geoffrey Burgon is always superb. Would love to get a CD of All Angels. Don't remember this in Brideshead, but was many years ago. The Mozart & William Byrd settings of Ave Verum are also lovely - the Rutter one leaves me cold.
Hi, don't suppose since you've posted this, you have managed to find the sheet music? I would love this to be sung at my wedding! Desperately trying to find the music!
Ave Verum has been used by many composers. They can not be compared.
Each composer has his own idea. All Angels do a great job. Congratulations!

Why wouldn't they just sing the original version by Mozart? Its kind of throwing me off but it is still nice.

@Lois561 if you imagine Mozart wrote the original version of Ave Verum Corpus, you're off by only about three centuries!

Those of us here in the Old Hundred*, who heard this performance for the first time, were completely blown away by its simple exquisite beauty.
