  • Ian and Billy were the coolest front pair ever . Axel and Slash could not lick their boots

  • Wotever - I was there - good times.......

  • "Electric" put these guys on the map here in the U.S.. Bad Marketing here proved these guys should have been exposed a little more in the late 80's!

  • i absolutely love the Cult, but it sounds like Ian had an off night on this one

  • " Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery " Jim Morrison

  • I wonder why the Cult never went with a dual guitar lineup? They always have some guy off in the dark playing rhythm. When I saw them in 1987 the dude playing rhythm wasn't even on the stage. You could here him, but he was back stage playing. Weird.

  • fuck off, that is too cool!!!

  • Back when rock stars looked like rock stars...LOVE this shit!!!

  • cool i was at this show!

  • @spangbr Lucky you!!!

  • That looks like the same stage where Love Removal Machine original video was filmed

  • wtf hes struggling to sing???

  • pure rockin sex....

    CFFC

  • Summer of 87 Guns n Roses was opening up for the cult on their electric tour in north america/canada, the best show ive seen ever at the time, Can you imagine GnR opening up for the cult. They got booed off the stage at the CNE in Toronto , Who knew............??

  • @TheWildheartedson haha, yeah that's almost like when Bon Jovi opened for Ratt in like 85 or so :P

  • you said LAST LEG OF ELECTRIC TOUR , clEarLy untrue / not the case

Re Gard Less of the country.

  • That is 2:45 of ROCK

  • I was there! This was the home coming gig. The last leg of the electric tour. Brilliant!

  • I would have loved to see them on this tour. I didn't get to see them until they were in Phoenix, Arizona in the early '90s. Of course they were great!!! I have been to many concerts and only two were the whole crowd, moved. The Cult, everyone was swaying back and forth and at Korn everyone was jumping up and down. I guess both front men had a lot of power over the crowd. (I 'll take Ian any day over Jonathan, but both great front men)

  • i saw them in american on this tour and that was Summer of 1987 so this is hardly the last leg of the tour ever hear of anybands putting out a new release in 1987 and quitting touring behind it in March? come on use your head. In USA Summer 1987 the opened for billy idol.

  • Ooooh picky eh. Who said anything about America. The band did a british tour before they went anywhere near the states. The last gig was Brixton Academy in March. Infact I saw them at the end of 86 and they were already plugging songs from electric.

  • The Cult in their Prime!!! Love this album!!!

  • Never heard anyone that sounded more like Morrison than Astbury

  • atsbury is atsbury!!!!!!

  • Right on...

  • Billy Duffy playing a Burst is so friggin COOL!

  • ...there was a time when Billy Duffy was churning out quality guitar riffs to rival Keith Richard at his peak.....

  • I too am glad Ian kicked his demons and has straightened out!

In this video he just seems unable to focus on singing with tempo, yet tries so hard at the same time which distorts his voice!

  • He is totally clean. The only coke he takes now is COLA ( soft drink) . LOL. Great talent, he is. He is too intelligent to have gone down a dead-end path- so he stopped early.

  • Forget what Ian was doing, what the f*** was Duffy on that compelled him to sport that overstuffed turkey he called a haristyle?

  • Not sure how old you are but it was the 80s dude! Teased hair and mullet haircuts. That's how it was back then.. haha.

  • totaly hot!!

  • Duuuuude, Ian is totaly hi on this one:-D

  • This is so awesome! Ian's voice is really great. Pure fucking Rock & Roll right here!!

  • I got dragged along to the academy to see them in 1986.

The support band were Zodiac Mindwarp and the love reaction.

To be honest I liked the support band better.

    I always found the Cult a bit.......plastic

  • well, doesn't that put you in the minority

  • @orriblebob plastic? THey always reinvented themselves and were ahead of the curve. Electric and Sonic eTemple were their commerical exploits, but otherwsie these guys were trailblazers

  • I was actually at this gig ,ive seen the Cult many times over the years and ive posted this comment before and i stand by it,Astbury is one of my top ten singers of all time, saw them recently and he still has the power, obviously we are all older ,he may have lost some of his range,so has Plant,Dickinson and Gillan. What people seem to forget is that live performances are very rarely authentic to the studio recording,if you are halfway through a world tour singing every night, you might not hit it

  • Good point, GrantStoke. And I agree about his being one of the best front men. Also one of the few who is a baritone.

  • ELECTRIC is probably the best rock record of the eighties . EVERY song great. ac dc influence and all. GREAT. early stuff great.

  • and LOVE is the best dark album of the eighties... The Cult... what else?

  • you are turkeys, idiots.

the cult one of the best bands of all times is pure rock & roll is pure cult besides cabrias them while they were in their big moments of success they were on drugs and alcohol if you dont know Geyser especially ian spent a difficult time do you know that alcohol destroys the vocal cords?, yes it destroys. he has lucky cause he keeps his voice. but that's rock & roll. all people all the people who criticize are retarded.

will listen to their bands medicres.

  • fuck you bitch.

this band fucking pwns your one inch pecker.

  • No shit man... what the hell are you doing watching it if you don't like it???? Sounds like you're the moron to me! You're just jealous of sexy Ian!

  • why you all gotta be like that, stevey?

  • You're jealous!

  • Billy the ball slapper

  • you are a bitch,..,this is fucking Rock'n'Roll!

  • Well if he's a cunt then I'll lick him!!!!

  • "Billy the original master of cool"???

    "underrated"???

Are you people for real? Where do you come from?

  • you are an absolute fuckball,..,this is fucking rock'n'roll and The Cult is godlike! say whatever you want

  • you have absolutely no clue,..bitch xD nevertheless.,.,I won't talk to you anymore, it's just useless

    THE CULT rules. ,.,.,nuff said

  • Who the hell wants to talk to you? Don't waste my time, & grow up!

  • SFIGATOOOOOOOO TU E CHI TI ASCOLTA

  • ahhhhhhhhhh IANNNNNNNNNNNNN so HOT

  • ian is on coke - screaming the fuck out of his throth - not a great vocal performance here - but the way he looks .. godlike. greetings

  • i don't no if it's true, but the cult allways said they are not a drug band, they drink thousands of botle of alcohol but not drugs.....

  • It's not very hard to tell which vids he was coked-out on. He's got it whipped now.

  • I didn't know he did coke on the regular. I had heard he did H, and of course he had a drinking problem. I have seen vids were he looks like he is on some sort of downer. Do you think he is coke-up in this vid? I hope he is free of excesses now.

  • The only video I can really tell he was high is Big Neon 1986 Germany Munich. He looks like he's coked up out of his mind. I think he may enjoy a glass of wine now and then these days but that would be the extent of it.

  • Moon8woman - I think your right about the coke during the Big Neon 1986 Munich clip. He has the tell-tale eyes and that weird "holding" of the mouth/nose that is unique to someone really high on coke. Much different than the vids when he is on a downer. Glad he kicked his demons. Too talented to be lost to drugs.

  • Yeah, I'm glad he quit that shit too, he looks good now too even older because he started taking care of his self early on.

  • And the Spiritwalker vid that was the same concert, I guess he was flying that night.... gave him a different energy, much better without the hard drugs. I think M. J. is ok though.

  • Billy the original master of cool

  • @nghttrain Billy n Ian own the copyright on cool

  • I was at this gig! What a great band, lost it a bit when they went to live in LA. Still, thanks for this.

  • the shows are short and Ian sings/yells/rags out about 50% of the lyrics---??? where other bands reproduce near 80-90% in concert. Why--I do not know.

  • UNDERATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was one of the last times i saw them, came out of there like a ball of sweat.

  • CFFC

    nuff said

  • im going tosee them in april.

  • Ian is the shaman-poet warrior whilst Billy is the master six-string samurai here. CFFC!

  • I was at this gig. Late March 1987. Top band, top gig and with Kid Chaos on bass. Sublime!

    I was very, very drunk.

  • Rock n roll - the cult at their best!!! Love the hair style!

  • I was listening to "The Electric" album during a bus tour throughout Europe, and all the australians on the tour loved the guys, back in 1987.

  • MORE!!!!! i'd pay top dollar to see this whole concert on DVD... PRIME cult. cheers.

  • i like 'em but IAN sings only 1/2 the lyrics live and in whatever musical notation he chooses. and he always sang like that post ELECTRIC.

  • i can see why ian blew his vocals out from this performance

  • the cult is the most great band of the world!!!!!
