  • "War of Aggression" my ass, who attacked Fort Sumter? Who marched towards Washington D.C.? Who were the racists trying to defend slavery? The North wasn't attacking Southern people, the South seceded and started a bloody war with the North. And in today's times, racists try to defend it.

  • @DaBomb7635 Technically Sumter was property taken back by the state of South Carolina so they were more or less trying evict the Federal troops trespassing. I find it funny that it was okay for the 13 colonies to secede from England but when south tried it its horrible. And btw New England almost seceded during the war of 1812...ever heard about that?

  • the first Battle @ Manassas, was a sobering surprise for most involved.. the beginning of the most tragic four years in American history.

I have a lot of love for the re-enactors who go out and uphold living Civil War/WBTS history, now get a tech guy to CGI out those power lines & add some trees in the background /chuckle/. peace

  • DAMNED POWERLINES......

  • Uhhhh...Lee had nothing to do with 1st Manassas

  • @larsjake Lee didnt even have grey hair at that point lol

  • @simcityman81 Not according to movies LOL

  • from off the family farms they came, young men of the south to defend their home's and their family's against the northern invasion of the land

  • @spacetrcuker68 - yea they invaded because the south for some reason thought they lived in countries instead of states !

  • @kos22us Do you realized what a Federal government is? It's States as in nation states comming together in a military and economic alliance. It's a Federation. The States were not and are not provences. England had to make 13 different peace treaties at the end of the war of independence because they were 13 different countries.

  • dont know how hot the 125th was....but this one was HOT!!!!! temps friday and saturday were both around 104-106. with heat indexes at 116-118. sleeping at night was impossible. but the battles themselves were kick ass! some of the hottest and best action i've ever been in. kudos to tony daniels and the rest of the orginizers of this event. they did a steller job. 150 people went to the medical tent for heat related incidents, but nothing major happened. i am with the 71st pa. vols.

  • @cplpun1 Thats about right. 92 after sunset almost felt good to me and I slept like a baby both nights with those red velvant ants!

  • Mr Phillips is "right" about how most Southerners felt but the Northern soldiers felt the same way about ALL of the United States.

I did the 125th Reenactment back in 1986 HOT!!!!!
