  • Shiri was one of the first Korean DVD's that I rented and watched and I was very impressed. The characters, human interest, plot, action and romance all blended together to create a masterpiece of cinematography. Well done to all who made this film possible.

  • well im confused... i was under the impression that this movie was about a woman.

  • I have no idea what this movie is about. The trailer was nothing but shooting in it. Is it even interesting. Still, from the comments I read, I'd still watch it.

  • Hollywood recipe and style, not too much interesting today, but extremely emotional, acting and characters are superb, true respect to south-korean actors.

  • One of the best thriller movies I ever saw. Korean cinema rules.

  • where i can download this movie ????

  • What a great movie. well written, well directed, and well acted. I have watched this movie for at least 10 times, but I never got tired of watching it.

  • @ 2:11 , o dae-su of Oldby ! :P

  • i started to like korean movies after watching this movie..

  • I pick this than mainstream Korean dramas anytime. :)

Why can't the Philippines try making this kind of movie for once! :(

  • @2POWERFUL Because it's just like an American movie but set in South Korea with Koreans

  • I have a mancrush on Kang ho Song

  • @HeroOfCanton99

What's the other character's real name? I think he is hot.

  • @petiteasiahoney Suk Kyu Han I think

  • Do they have this movie with english subtitles looks really interesting :D

  • choi min sik <3 Love him, such a goo actor!!!

  • Yea american movies are really shit at the moment , ive actually start lookin for foreign movies.

  • this movie is the best that I have ever seen. it is about love, war, and lie. also, it reminds me to Hercules mother that she had succesfully convinced Zeus with her tricks and beauty.... Congratulation to Korea.. Really love it.... Ta

  • The only thing that I hated about this movie was how badly unrealistic the shootouts were....Like how the flying fuck does ONE guy not get killed by like TEN dudes with MP5's and he's only armed with a 9mm pistol? They literally shower bullets at his direction and yet....not a scratch.

  • @Huhmasta Mp5 uzi p90

  • @aaron654lo uhh okk

  • @Huhmasta i mean they are smg

  • @aaron654lo that had nothing to do with what I said earlier....

  • I just bought it!!!!!!

    is it good?!?!

what about Phone and Crows Zero?!?!?!

r they good??? cause i just bought them

  • Are the soldiers wearing red berets North Koreans?

  • @Gramra yeah, they killed a couple of south korean guards and took their shit as disguises. Although I dont think anyone wears a red beret in the ROK military, but maybe I'm wrong.

  • what a great classic korean action...i dont give a fuck about sad endings...what i want is some die hard style action n this delivers it big time :D

  • this is a great movie

  • Holly Shit, I must to see this soon!!

  • the 3 men were in great movies, OLDBOY, SCARLET LETTER, and THE HOST...

  • i thought i recognised them from oldboy...

  • anyone know the name of the song in this trailer? or have a link to the soundtrack?

  • its the first time i ever recognize an actor in asian movies !

    :D thanks to OLDBOY!

  • i re-watched this again today. the ending's really dramatic. i don't know if i could do that to the person i loved, no matter her background. plus she was carrying his child. his face was really pale whe he learned of this.

the ost at the end is awesome.

  • I don't doubt that it's a good movie, but the trailer is bad. Doesn't explain at all what it is about.

  • HEY! did you know that the actress who plays female villian character who uses the secret agent is actually the actress who plays sun in LOST!!??!?

  • Yes.. shes the same :)

  • Bigo~ YoonJin Kim

  • Holy hell, Choi Min Sik and Song ho(sorry if I misspelled names there) are in this? It looks fantastic. I'll have to check this out.

  • Song Kang Ho ... I miffed that one ...

  • that's what I thought too! first time I saw those actors was in the movie oldboy. if you haven't seen oldboy I highly recommend watching it!!

  • saw this movie about 9 years ago. nice one. i liked the musical scoring. and choice of theme song 'when i dream' by carol kidd. they got it right.

  • man i remember watching this a whileee back.. dont remember a thing except it was a great movie! how/where can i download this??

  • someone uploaded in utube. try that

  • This is a great movie I hope theyll make another one. The story is very good, the writer is a very good one. Very impressive

  • this movie was awesome the north korean assassins special forces or whatever were badass

  • the first korean movie i've watched (in year 2001) & one of the korean greatest movies..salute

  • This is one of the best action movies i've watched. The Koreans really know their thing..

  • THe movie was awesome

  • Shiri are a type of fish found in the streams of Korea who swim up and down the streams of the DMZ without ever knowing which side of Korea their on.

  • is it weird that i like han suk-kyu a bit 2 much? lol

  • A great cloak and dagger film with a perfect blend of action, mystery, and even humor. I wish movie makers understood ballistics, though.

  • A landmark picture in Korean filmaking! Even Surpassed Titanic's records there. Just goes to show they can make a impressive movie with a budget of 5 million. Hollywood on the other hand needs at least 120 million to create a disaster called Miami Vice.

  • @666Nukes In fact, the American A-List actors demand obscene amounts of money and the distribution companies pour untold amount of money on marketing and anciliary products. That is how a blockbuster movie today costs at least 100M$ to make. Thanks to fat-cat actor' agents. The other reason is that the MGMs of this world actually agree to these numbers in a PFD agreement.

  • @2OQP What's a PFD agreement?

  • @ar4216 Production, Financing and Distribution. These are actually used more today in the frame of Independent movie productions and can still be striken with companies like Miramax, to distribute your independent movie, but understand that a lot of say will come from them in the production. This is when you loose your 'independence'. I'd say, that if you don't know the ropes of mid-size budget movie makeing(1-5M$)...learn the mechanics of making a film with small productions, shorts mainly.

  • @2OQP Thanks. Are you involved with the entertainment industry in Korea? I've seen a number of good films come out of there. What I don't get is that there are so few original films that get a theatrical release. Seems like everything is a remake or a sequel. It's bullshit. I saw this horror film Trick R' Treat that was great, a really well done horror film, and it didn't get a theatrical release. Just crazy.

  • @ar4216 Not at all. But if I could push a button and that would happen and be succesful at it, I'd push it in an heartbeat. From what I know, (I have been mingling with Koreans in Montreal), this is the country to be in, in this decade, bar none. I plan to go anyway in 2012 and spend 2-3 weeks just to get my feet wet. To go back on the subject though, you see making films is not a risky business, financing the making of a film is a risky business. One doesn't want to loose what is acquired.

  • @666Nukes hollywoods allways cleaning money with theyr movies. its obvious, sadly not to all. (no offense)

  • This is a great movie.Really good story with super action plus people you care about. Subtitles were no problem. I dont know Korean so I would not know the actual translation. Also checkout a movie called Tube and another called Friends.

  • it's 1998-1999 actually.

  • And you might want to learn some Korean if you want to watch this movie. The English subtitles are poorly translated.

  • It's not 1999; 2003 actually. I would say this movie is better than most Hollywood movies. Hollywood movies nowadays are dumbed down for kids to watch... Shooting movie? It's more of a mix of extreme shooting, romance, and some war elements.

It's about several North Korean 8th Special Forces sent to South Korean to start a war. A new type of bomb is made, one of the Special Forces, sniper trained, falls in love with a special agent in South Korean.

  • Actually, this movie was from 1999. I believe it was distributed to America in 2003 or so.

  • what a crap trailer? no one talks? whats the point? i hate shooting movie.

  • watch also taegugki it´s fom the same producer awesome

  • Isnt it like 1999 though??

  • I still wanna see it, awesome! thx for the post.

  • But its so sad...

  • My favourite Movie...
