  • Nice video

  • Hi im an amtuer photography and i loveee hummingbirds. I was wondering if you could give me some tips, you are truly amazing.

  • Lol, they are nice! I love Jamaica!

  • Thank ypu very very very much

  • Gorgeous amazing...thanks for sharing!

  • Well.... they're up. Check them out!

  • Thanks for sharing that. Now I want to go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an artist and have sculpted many long-tailed hummers that look just like that one!

  • It was truly amazing. An artist! Nice. You should put some of your work on your channel. I would to see it. I was studying art for a while.

  • I will post some of my art.... but it will probably not happen today.... I have a very busy day scheduled. But I can probably get the vids made & post them tonight of tomorrow. I'll try. Besides hummers, I use a lot of quetzels. They are so beautiful also!

  • That's Jamaican's National Bird, Long stream-tail Hummingbird, aka Doctor Bird. you can quickly tell the difference between the male and female Hummingbird: Male has the 2 long stream tails and female don't.

  • Thank you for the hummies!

  • You welcome! If I remember correctly, the Doctor (the ones with the long tails) are the Jamaican national bird.

  • OOH boy! Pink little beak and long tail!!

    So trusting, WOW.

Cindy, I am a little envious

Mesmerizing. That made my day :-)

    Big hug to you.

  • Big hug back! :) This was amazing feeling it perch on my finger. It's little feet were so delicate. It was incredible. When we were at my Mom's, I wanted to try the same but we didn't have time. However, these little birds are so hungry, one day, as I was returning the feeder, rather than hanging it right away, I just held it and they started feeding! And Sutra, thanks for subscribing!

  • It's almost hard to sit still when they land on your finger - they're so tiny and so beautiful! I want to go again. Have fun.

    Cindy

  • Thank you for posting this. We are going to Jamaica in about 7 weeks and this is the first place we are going to visit. I've seen the still pictures, but this is the first video I've seen of the birds actually feeding. They are so beautiful! I can't wait to do this myself!

  • This really is a great place, the Doctor birds are awesome. On the down side it's quite a difficult place to find and the guy there, although friendly does try to fleece you of some serious money. I have been there a few times and if you object to his demands you can normally thrash out a more reasonable price.

  • you must love nature / animals. nice video

    :) ruben

  • this is the vid that should have 5,000,000 views...humming birds are so cool and fast...:-D

  • I hope it will have! That's so cool, i want to do it!! And, seeing as no-one else has done it, may I point out to mrobertb that that is what hummingbirds do. Naturally.

  • There's a great book called "Hummingbirds of the Caribbean" by Esther and Robert Tyrrell that has a lot of info about and beautiful photos of the two species here. My sister used to revive Ruby-throated Hummingbirds that had run into windows by warming them in her hands. When they came to, they'd perch on her finger for a few seconds before taking off.

  • BEAUTIFULL AND GREAT!so cute, i've seen this beautiful birds in Colombia (Medellin), so special and delicated, with fluorescent blue colors, but i couldnt see them very near, but

    this is amazing!

  • Great video, very interesting. I hope to go there now some say.

  • Kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic video! I love hummingbirds & the way they hover in one spot. How long did it take for you to train them to do this?

  • That's awesome, we had some humming birds hover in front of us this summer. They are not very shy. Happy you to were able to meet :>)
