I think the part that kills me is when Mariko reacts to Kurama pulling a gun on her. Just the way she talks and cries after that moment really seem to get to me. I've watched countless Anime and was never once affected by these types of moments and I'm not too emotional in general. I watch this anime and this particular scene and I almost cry.

In the anime, mariko dies just as a cruel girl, but in the manga, something different is happening (yeah, shes dieing to, but you will see if you read...) so really, if you liked the show, read the manga! Many things just aren't involed in the anime's story line.

It really does not have much to do with this anime, but the poem is about an elf who hits his head, and he has some identity confusion, but not like what you're thinking. The town crier (cryer?) calls "Eleven o'clock!" and in German, 'eleven' is 'elfe', which also means 'elf'. Like I said, there isn't really anything in common.

This the saddest moment? Maybe for some. But there are actually even more sad moments in Elfen Lied like Lucy's past at that school where that supposedly bitch friend of hers betrayed her and those fucking bullies killed that dog. What was comforting about that moment was the time when those brats' head felt like doing Apollo 18. FUCKING BRATS!!!! Serve them right!

But don't get me wrong, I consider Elfen Lied as one of my top favourite anime! Hope you people feel the same.

I feel sad from this scene for Mariko and Kurama... but to be honest... I felt soooo horrible for Nana. She's had such a hard life... Kurama was posing as her father and she finds out he's not really her papa... She's experimented on in horrible ways all her life, and now she looses the person she loved most... As many mistakes as Kurama made, though, I still like him, though it might have been less painful if Lucy had killed him at the beginning instead of keeping her promise to kill him last.

Yes, he is still alive after this event. In the end of the manga at the Lighthouse Kurama ended up shooting Kouta. Lucy tried to save Kouta by using her powers to rearrange his cells to seal the wound, but ending up melting from using her powers too much. I don't know how the anime ends.
