Good vid but you actually took off more suspension parts than what is necessary to do this job. I left my rotors and calipers mounted. Took bolt out of upper ball joint and bottom shock bolt, then tied upper A arm and shock up out of the way. Makes it go a little quicker.
@MotoXXX7 Appreciate the tip but how would you get the axle out of the diff with the rotor still bolted on? I need a video of that! I did replace the front shocks so they did have to come out. I also did away with the sway bar.
@tj548p@tj548p I removed my sway bar two years ago also. All you do is unbolt the upper balljoints, then pull down on the wheel bearing carrier assembly with the rotor and caliper still on it and the axle will come out of the carrier. Then you can pull the axle out of the diff. I do the rear end the same way, only unbolting the upper A-arm then pulling down on the carrier the axle comes out.
@knom08 Thanks. It's a LOT cheaper to do this stuff yourself. My Polaris dealer wanted $400 to do it. It was only $140 for me to do it plus I didn't have to deal with taking the machine to the service dept, etc. It's faster and cheaper and I now understand what is going on. Better so I can do future repairs.
Thats cool that ya can take apart stuff and replace it like that. cool toys man. i posted a video responce if ya dont mind. BTW finally found editing software thats full screen. HD. doesnt eat the quality. Sony vegas movie studio 11.
@TheFordFseries Yeah, it's nice to work on stuff inside the garage. It's 13 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I'm getting old enough I don't have the will power to do it on the back patio!
@fart1fart1 Parts were $140 and about 4 hours on the R&R. It takes longer when I'm trying to position the camera. As usual, I could do it in half the time the second time around.
