The update destroys any hope of rooting the phone untill a new hack comes out. One annoyance is the battery indicator LIES to you. It will show me 75% on the indicator but you plug it in an dcheck the actual charge and it will be considerably kess like 47 or 55% etc.

The processors are different ZTE Warp runs on 1GB processor n the Prevail's processor only rivals the old 2.2 Android phones although the update changed the look the guts are the same

Old stock FROYO software had benchmarks in the 500's but now with this update its up to 1000 so yes it will be much smoother. I suggest using Opera Mini for browser and not the stock browser.

If you have ROOT like me you cannot update to gingerbread. You will need to unroot and go ahead and search that and use ODIN.

ODIN can also install gingerbread from there.

updated my prevail (boost mobile) i do not like what i see! There is now spyware on my phone! To see what i mean go to: settings - manage applications - all - scroll through the list -- look at the app "DUN", and "sound recorder" you will see the permissions are frighting to say the least. The worst part is there is nothing you can do to change the permissions or to actually use the app (it is for "them" not the phone owner).

Its actually a bit faster alot smoother, also battery life has improved in my case.
