  • The forests take care of themselves just fine. While it's unfortunate to lose so many mature pines we need to look at the forest floor to understand why this isn't a problem

Young pines are getting a huge boost from getting more light and are quickly replacing the dead trees which are quickly becoming part of the topsoil.

Nature is what happens when you leave something alone and clear cutting is not leaving it alone. It's just politicians and loggers idea of a "healthy" forest.

  • nice vid... thank you for raising awarness!!!

  • This problem is also hitting Montana pretty hard. I've uploaded a video I shot in early July and it shows some of the red forests in Lewis & Clark County.

  • "Risley Equipment has developed an innovative method to control further spread of pine beetle populations with a product that chips the infected tree as a means to increase mortality rates and decrease the further reproduction of the beetle in the next season.

For more information see video " Risley Rolly Chipper" on YouTube"

  • This video was great. So sad, but great.

  • Thanks- it's the first clear explanation I've found after lots of searching. Is there a longer white paper (pdf) I can find on a website?

  • I am sorry, what are you asking of the white paper?

  • Great Job Juice & Company!!
