I love their oli, the kumu chants first, then the halau, it shows that they have practiced their chanting because like their dance, its FLAWLESS.

it's really dependent on the kumu. i've noticed that many say if the dance is about something happy, then you should smile.

Mahalo to this halau kumu for keeping the artform as traditional as possible. Looks graceful, good feet basics, much less robot looking than hula looked a few years ago. Don't let MM competition change hula kahiko tradition.
