  • If Rossi has indeed managed to overturn physics, he has not yet convinced any meaningful number of experts, and he has not acted in a very scientific manner. He has refused to replicate his sales demonstrations under controlled conditions; he has claimed to have sold some of his machines but declines to say to whom; and the results of his sales demonstrations have been found to have been rigged, in one case with some wires that he said were accidentally misconnected.

  • @jebesVas - I dont think its a matter of overturning any physical laws - Rossi and others have figured out how to exploit a pretty well understood phenomena called "Low Energy Nuclear Reaction" - Rossi's system uses nickel and hydrogen - there are other systems that use other materials - Rossi's system seems limited to 3x or maybe 4x energy input and may never spin a turbine to produce electricity - other systems might do better - much to learn yet - many working on it

  • @yakyakyak69 True, mr. Rossi in my opinion is very bright person, and im sure he knows one move ahead what will hapen soon on the market. Competition is part of the NORMAL bussines life, and technology is pretty simple to copy (reversengeenered) by Chinese for eg.

  • @fork04 Competion is GOOD!

Let's hope that nobody is stupid enough to get gov't funding for any of this. Once the politicians become involved, competition is killed by political cronyism and innovation is screwed up by unfair political favoritism.

"Cheap energy" genie is still trying to excape the currenty energy "status-quo" bottle of Big Energy & Military-Industrial Complex political crony-socialism.

Now that we are all debt serfs, they can afford to let this technology loose.

  • im waitin too for ecat

  • it will give this technology for the German market?

in the German mainstream is so far silent on this topic

  • Well i just placed my order, so here's hoping!

  • he needs a spokesman... 1:50 could have been 20 minutes.

  • @burtonchalmersnumb1 but whatever, i listen to Joe Rogan talk shit all day for 3 hours.

  • don't think he is very skilled in economics but his heart is in the right place. as soon as competition gets a hold of it, game over.

  • acejtw@gmail.com

  • I cannot blame him for wanting to make a well engineered product that is hard to rip off.

This would be a blessing to humanity if all works.

  • THANK YOU MR. ROSSI !!!!! We are so excited by this technology, it is all I can think about or talk about! PEOPLE THIS IS A GAME-CHANGER that will simply END the elitist-banker-oil-industry-military control we are presently subject to. If single electrical power generators make it out to consumers, then we're FREE. EVERYONE-- stay on top of this story and MAKE SURE THE HOME E-CAT COMES TO MARKET. Use political pressure, FOIA, lawsuits if needed to keep it from getting suppressed!!!

  • thanks for the great video :)

  • Look at those view numbers Gary!!! Holy Smokes. Good for you man! *shake*

  • On another note, a pair of these in parallel (20kw) could be used in conjunction with a small steam turbine to run a self-charging electric car. You'd need a moderate lithium ion battery pack for quick acceleration and e-cat startup power, but the majority of normal cruising power and recharging capabilities could come from the generator. Exciting stuff. :))

  • This is very cool stuff. As to the possibility of using for potable or non-potable water/steam, all you need is a heat exchanger in your water heater as opposed to a heating element or fire in the case of a gas water heater. My take on the hydrogen supply is that he now has a catalyst of sorts to store the hydrogen similar to what Bob Lazar was working on, so there's no high pressure cylinder to deal with. I WANT ONE!!!

  • Great interview and God speed to full production! I will be getting one as soon as they are available. Electricity generation will follow. $500 is the bargain of a life time. God bless Andrea Rossi and the E-Cat!

  • Once the reaction is started, steam control should be a simple "T" with valve controlled via thermostat: (a) steam to heating system, (b) steam to atmosphere plus a safety pressure relief valve. Reactor only needs a shut-down mechanism for loss of water supply, loss of reaction, or steam overpressure.

    Simple is GOOD!

With a cost of $10/180days, who cares if you vent steam to admosphere? It will just be rain later.

  • Questions:

    1) Does the reaction water require pre-treatment to remove disolved minerals, salts, clorine and other chemicals? What is the min. water pressure req'd?

    2) Can the reaction water be easily recycled?

    3) Can a small water tank be used to provide reaction water with a small 2K "pre-heat" generator to use Ecat in mobile environments like heating RVs, Boats, Campers etc.?

    4) Can Ecat provide it's own electricity for it's instrumentation for totally off-grid operation?

  • @yakyakyak69 - I am not qualified to answer these questions for you and I cannot offer any assurance that anyone really qualified will reply to such a query in this venue - you might check the "related article" link in the video description and make your query as a comment there - it may take a while, but its possible you might get answers to your questions

  • @yakyakyak69 You forgot the MOST important questions! Assuming this is legit - my guess is it is but either way question number 1 then is ...Exactly how will THEY suppress him, my guess it will be legal.

  • @yakyakyak69 1)there is no reaction water this is not a fission this is fussion, water is only used to cool radiators mounted on reactor

    2)see ad 1

    3) what ?

    4) not now. u must wait 1-2 years for that

  • Well SSC over 4,000 views in less than 2 days. This will be one of the great stories of the year to see how this unfolds. If this is the real deal, this is the one to watch to see if any of those rumors are true about the energy lords, along with a few other organizations.

  • @Tahtechlabs - yeah, its a little scary - the guy who scheduled to show his hamster powered LED lighting system pulled out of his commitment saying he was not going follow this one - oh well

  • @Tahtechlabs Interesting sure is, but as for waiting for proof of "energy lords" well there has been more than enough of that for anyone whos been paying attention - its a fkiing epidemic. My prediction is that nothing will come of this - hope i'm wrong.

  • Right off, I don't understand how he is going to produce 1MW units by this fall if it's going to take 2 years to work out a way to make it produce electricity.

  • @joewilder - 1mw thermal energy plant already delivered and paid for - others on order - plan for end of this year is to produce 10kw "home" size units for heating applications - long term plan is to mate the device with a generator to produce electricity - hope that clarifies

  • @joewilder MW is used as a measurement of thermal energy not electricity. Ecat's current max steam temp produced in a stable reaction is 400-deg c (752-deg F). There are several ways to turn generate electricity based on steam volume & pressure. It takes time to choose the best method, have it certified by the gov't central planners (who are in bed with the status-quo), tool up to mfg, & produce in consumer scale.

Ecat Steam-heating only needs slight retrofit to existing systems.

  • :) Don't mean to discourage you in any way bud. Whittling things down when appropo keeps you sharp and on the cutting edge...

  • Mr. Rossi seems very credible to me. He doesn't seem to be hiding anything. He answered the questions willingly and openly. When asked about putting the device into "open source", his reasons for not doing so made a great deal of sense to me. When a man works as hard and as long on an idea, he deserves to receive the "fruits" of his efforts. Mr. Rossi, I wish you success! Thanks, Gary for your efforts in bringing us this timely information. Thanks, Sterling, for your part in the interview

  • @fathershand - a lot of my optimism about this project has to do with the Oct 2011 tests run by hired help paid for by the customer for that 1mw plant - if the customer's paid experts liked what they saw and advised "buy it" and the customer then wrote a BIG check and took delivery, its pretty hard to dismiss this device as wishful thinking - that to me says, it works and makes economic sense - now to get the small ones on the shelf at Home Depot

  • @fathershand if you think Rossi is "very credible" I have a bridge for sale. lol. If you do some research into the whole Rossi saga you will see that it's obviously a hoax/scam. His own demonstrations don't work. He refuses to have the E-Cat tested by an independent 3rd party. He continually lies, saying his 1MW plant was delivered to the customer then saying months later that it stayed in his lab for improvements.

  • Thank you very much folks. I have followed Mr. Rossi with great interest over the past year. But I have always said, this needs not be dismissed by the political scientific/academic community. I have indicated that true skepticism needs enough optimism to be decided one way or the other. All the best wishes for this technology to come into it's own.

  • Brilliant to remove the need of pressurized hydrogen. Head-slap!

  • Regarding heat response: Having lived in a house heated by hot water, the key to be delivered quickly, it will use a pre-heated volume (tank) from which the pumps circulate..

  • I think the price is so low because the device is very simple in it's construction

  • @epsombristol - I assume that when Rossi says $500 he means the cost to manufacture a bare unit - I also assume that the HVAC guy I hire to install it so I can get useful work out of it will have to make a living - but I think a price point like what Rossi talks about certainly puts it strongly into the game

  • Man you could cut off the first 5.34 minutes of babble.

  • @OAbrey - actually, in the edited version I will rebroadcast as the feature presentation on my show scheduled for Jan 19th, I managed to cut about 11 minutes - its still a long interview but you are correct that the unedited file here has some fluff

but no apologies - I post my shows here exactly as produced with all the blemishes and as few edits as I can get away with - what you see here is exactly what the live audience saw

  • "It will be open sourced but not from Andrea Rossi" I am not so worried about this so long as he has provided a means to ensure dissemination of the technology should he be "removed from the equation".

  • @ZeroFossilFuel - I think that at this point, the ecat is pretty much out of the bag so to speak - Rossi has a pretty short windows of opportunity to recoup his investment as competitors are already starting to appear - I think we are seeing the early stages of a revolution in energy technology taking place - in any case, I certainly hope so

  • @SmartScarecrow Ya i love his ignorance of market exploitation, but in reality it won't matter in the future. Now that the technology is there and the understanding that there is a new science, with more research it will evolve.

  • Scarecrow pulled out all the stops on this show, really great.

  • Big Thank You for providing this interview ,,,wish it was a on the shelf so to speak ,,red tape Blues !!

  • @wizardangel - I think a more proper translation of Rossi's comment on the US patent issue is that he has not yet figured out who the hell he has to bribe to get it through the system - if he was Monsanto, am sure his patent on the latest bioengineered killer crop would fly through the system in days

  • Again thank you SSC for your efforts. I fear that at 500 a unit and 10 US dollars for a refill cartridge at every 180 days (4320 hours of use) or about .06 cents a day with competing aftermarket reducing it even more will never make it to market. Will this become another Tesla, Edison, Westinghouse and Moray story? If so, I hope Rossi would open source it so to prevent this to occur once again or sell developers/experimenter kits to gain his time and money back.

  • @Tahtechlabs - keep in mind that Rossi was talking about the raw cost to manufacture - I would expect that once the device makes it through normal distribution channels it may actually be twice the he mentions - but even at 4x the price he mentions, as a long term solution it could provide tremendous advantages

  • @Tahtechlabs I completely agree with you. Unfortunately unless Rossi releases this technology open source it will never see the light of day.

  • @Tahtechlabs - without the incentive provided by potential returns, future investment and innovation could be stopped cold - on the idea of "open source" I have to agree with Rossi on this one - I hope to see many manufacturers producing similar device and making them available at competitive prices - this will only happen with careful protection of the intellectual property rights

  • @SmartScarecrow - I do understand the path Rossi has chosen I just hope that he has made all precautions for this technology to remain visible or become visible if an event raises that would require this. If this is truly validated on all counts it is a game changer and many don’t want a new game. I would like to see many players in this game as well, but I believe it may be who wins the coin toss.

  • Will be interesting to see how NASA’s involvement affects this if any.

  • @Tahtechlabs - that question was put to Rossi but he indicated he was not going to discuss the products and projects of what he considers competitors - so on this issue, I guess we are left to our own best guess

  • Great interview! Good job with running the show! Rossi seems honest enough, and I guess that we all have a better knowledge of what his intentions are in moving forward with production.

  • Total bullshit.

Rossi is a convicted criminal and notorious con artist.

    Nothing but a Ponzi scam.

It is the time honoured "green widget" invention.

Nearly ready, just send a little more money to commercialise it.

Get in quick, you will double your money.

    You just can't lose?

  • @whataloadofobollocks - you are entitled to your opinion - I for one, disagree - but I am attempting to get a well known person to come on my show 2 weeks from now and provide the opposing opinion - I hope his opinion will be expressed with more diplomacy

  • @whataloadofobollocks I'll purchase an e-cat if it's silent & diminutive, heck I'd even but a portable nuclear power station if one was available under 30 lbs, require no staff, for use in the camper & generated no radioactive waste.

If it works as specified ~ I will buy ~ if it doesn't, then I walk back home empty handed.

What's the harm in that though?

  • @whataloadofobollocks I agree, lots of smoke and mirrors. I would like to also add that he got a patent in 2008, but its under his wife name? Why would the patent be in his wife name? I would say that if people waited for the patent first, before investing any money would be a safe bet. He seem like he is hiding something, maybe the hydrogen gas needed to power the system is just one one the secrets. Hydrogen is not cheap, and very unsafe to have around your house.

  • Comment removed

  • @CaveManLabs "Hydrogen is not cheap". Maybe some one needs to explain what a picogram is to you. I'll save you the trouble-One trillionth of a gram.

  • @notaneoliberal What you don't see is the real truth, this guy is scam..He won't show how this really works, and yet he's claiming overunity. He will say anything, and yes even claiming one picogram of hydrogen. If this was the case, then HHO could be used. You must be just blind as a bat, if you believe that! When someone won't show how it works, claiming that he can't get a patent, tellls me how much of a scam it could be. if it looks like majic, then theirs a trick to it.

  • @CaveManLabs I can't prove it's legit, but the fact that chief NASA scientist Dr Dennis Bushnell has witnessed the e cat in operation and believes it's real carries some weight. Rossi doesn't say one picogram, he says picograms, but still it's apparently not a lot.

Youtube won't let me post a link, but if you Google Dennis Bushnell/ecat, you can see what he has to say.

  • @notaneoliberal Wow, that's a small amout of hydrogen. I also had to look it up in the dictionary! If you believe the BS, then he could make hydrogen in a electrolysis. As you can see, he has a bottle of hydrogen instead. So the theory of using one trillionth of a gram of hydrogen is nothing more of a, "BIG FAT LIE!". What gets me is where is your answers to prove this really works, do you know how it works? If so, prove to the world this works. Stop the BS, ask hard question!

  • Congratulations to Andrea of course - but also to you Sterling for your dedication to this rough and tough realm, it shows when such a busy innovator takes time out for you; and likewise to you Gary, for your dedication and alignment... it just goes to show, from top to bottom, it may indeed be possible to change the world of energy without the usual chain of command. This is awesome!

  • $500 even with over priced domestic labor & a $10 refill cartridge with 10 grams of hydrogen every 6 months so $20 yearly on heat or possibly electric. Very interesting indeed. However I don't have the time to wait on bureaucratic red tape & UL certs. I want one today in electric capacity. What is the weight & how portable would this be?

1:04:30 No need for robotics, merely the assiduousness of the Chinese at $5-$10 per day.

Massachusetts hmm I reside on Cape Cod that gives me an idea.

  • @Begbucks - I hope you find what you are looking for - I have not seen it yet but that dont mean it dont exist - still want you on my show to make your offer public but last couple have a tough go for me - maybe you can be on show of the 26th? will do best I can

  • Comment removed

  • @SmartScarecrow Thank you. Neither have I glanced on this coveted Ark but it seems promising. Though I wish you would have conferred about the weight & dimensions some more as well as portability.

I know; things have been frantic lately haven't they; I'll wait & see how my schedule allows when the date draws near though I'd be honored in anycase, keep in touch.

In the interim your audience might like to view the video I created ("RE generator" or the common tags pertaining to the alternatives)

  • Andrea, you need to hire a PR firm to communicate your intentions to the Western world. It is not that expensive and it gives you a better image to the regular public. Big businesses have PR people managing their images.

  • Its really great that he was willing to share with us his intentions, I hope he takes the market and keeps it. I can totally understand his efforts to beat the reverse engineering that will happen immediately after the first unit hits the street. The world needs this technology so badly right now! The paradigm shift must happen now! Thanks for putting this interview up Gary!

  • @sylvanenergy - my pleasure - we do what we can do

  • Wow what a interview that was !! This will probably be the flagship-episode of the year, yea you really put the bar high, well done!! Honestly i wish it was on the Buy-mart shelve.. yesterday!

  • @InventorGadget - yeah, next week when we preset the hamster powered LED lighting system I fear it will be a bit of a let down for many - oh well

  • Thanks! I missed most of the live show, but its great you uploaded it this fast
