  • I love this phone! I've had it two years and will not upgrade

  • nokia... connection FAIL..

  • iPhone is just a piece of shit, N900 is the best phone ever made!

  • His hair is cros between Donald Trump and Justin Bieber.

  • what the HELL is at 3:26 ! :O

  • iPhone for the win!

  • MacBook Pro ? hahahahaha so they still rely on Apple :P

  • @anipz90 LOL, it's Nokia 3G Booklet ...

  • I appreciate those that say the N900 is tablet not a phone, but they advertise 1000 hours of battery life, when you get less than 12 without using it as a tablet/computer. That is just an illegal misrepresentation by Nokia. If a computer company advertises their laptop will last ten hours (as ASUS does) and it only lasts 2 hours, I would sue them for misrepresentation as well.

  • i thought t was n9000?

  • What is your battery mAh? The phone comes with a 1320 mAh. It is true that Mugen Power sells an extended 2400 mAh for about 150 USD. But the battery power on mine--which I had professional tested because I may take legal action against Nokia--get less than six hours using the SIM only for about 15 minutes of calls and about a dozen SMS's. If I check my email just three times the battery time drops to an average of 2.5 hours based on ten repeated tests. Nokia cheated its customers with the N900.

  • The Nokia N900 is a fraud. It is not even of merchantable quality because the battery does not even last a day with little or no use. Nokia should be sued by N900 customers for selling them an unusable mobile. If you want to join a lawsuit email me at cdoebbler@international lawyers.org.

  • @cdoebbler Wow. Maybe they upgraded the battery before i bought mine. Maybe you just have problems with yours. Or maybe you even lie about that. I never have had problems with my battery life. Just saying.

  • @cdoebbler I use it. It's my mobile. Well, the thing is, the N900 is a mobile computer, like a tablet, not a phone. Laptops don't last a day, so you have to understand the limitations of the battery.

  • Nokia gave up on the N900 its so sad.

  • "Very Powerful" Indeed

  • It's way better then the iPhone!

Going to buy the N900 next

  • does every new phone have to be compared with iphone

  • LOL

this guy's hair looks like a helmet

  • now this is a guy who loves to say desktop

  • cut the crap!! all N900 owners has being cheated by nokia, how many aplications can i find in OVI for N900, a few and most of'em r shit, what is the point? multitasking between aplications? what aplications?they r on their way? bullshit! .How about flash p 10.1 to watch videos in Facebook, simply you cant. N8? maybe. but this maemo5 crap just makes me sick! RIP N900

  • I have the N900 for quite some time. never had an iPhone or any other smartphone, this is my first from the whole new generation ones. I have to admit it's quite bulky so unless you're really into multimedia and programming I would advise you to think twice. 1 thing for sure, you can watch movies on this phone with no problem and the quality is amazing. not sure other phones can do that. and you gotta love the storage on it built in 32 with expansion option.

  • Why does fucking Mikka Häkinnen not show everyone how "easy" it is to send mms or video call. I've got the N900 for 2 month and I'm truly disappointed. You can't write sms with one hand.

    Fuck Nokia

  • @GermanBBaller

No shit sherlock, what the hell do you think is the keyboard for?

  • @GermanBBaller Look past your nose mate. fMMS and VertSMS have been our for ages. I have been sending/receiving MMS since February.

  • @GermanBBaller

What a dumbsheep! Did you buy this phone now knowing it has a keyboard mate?

It's more like a PC-style mobile where you use 2 hands to type!

You don't use one hand when typing on the computer are you?!?

  • Thumbs up for the way Finns speak English.

  • how does a person with 1 finger use a pinch zoom on an iphone?

  • Is it possible to transfer i-tunes on to N900?

  • That guy has awesome hair

  • wow at the zoom technique, screw the iphone's multitouch!

  • wow grabe ang ganda... sana maging phone kita.. wahahha ^__^

  • The n900 or the samsung galaxy s PLS HELp and why the one is better than the other???PLS HELP!

  • @mistalake N900 I got 1 and Im feeling AWESOME !

P/S: Samsung and LG may be good looking but they're really SUCK over time. Trust me !

  • @mistalake The Galaxy S: 4inch instead of the N900's 3.5inch AMOLED screen so much brighter and truer and almost impossible to break. capacitive touch so its super sensitive to fingers 1000Mhz vs N900 600mhz (same cpu type) Faster clocked GPU than N900 (again same family so directly comparable) The cons: Quite a bit more than the N900 as of now. No flash or Led No keyboard Android is good, but you will never use any of that GPU power used in natively Andriod app.

  • Apple and opera fight against adobe, they want their device to support flash platform, nokia is on adobe side, instead apple will use HTML5 flash for their 4G..

  • I have this phone, HOW DO YOU EDIT THE MUSIC (on my phone)!!!!???? OR what music management program do you sync it with (tried OVI Music, does not work)?? please help! :(

My wifi is not connecting too, no help on nokia website!!

I have to pay $25 per month 2 years contract :(((((

  • people get it right, n900 isnt a phone to compare with the iphone. its a mini computer with phone capabilities. n900 is a HORRIBLE PHONE, its a mini computer.

  • Jesus, just bought one of these and i was so excited, but it turns out NOKIA doesn't even support the phone. Ovi suite doesn't know what it is, and PC suite is practically useless too. Dropping and dragging files in windows works, but WTF nothing else.

I can't get any SIM services either, because Vodafone doesn't even know what it is.

How about giving it some software that makes it WORK, Nokia, we're all waiting.

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, get a symbian :( this phone was stillborn from get-go

  • @BrEnNo1023 uhhh i think you got a n900 fake, cuz n900 is backed by nokia all the way.

  • @hiimaline well perhaps i was a little heated in that post... but the n900 really isn't compatible with the current version of Ovi suite, it says so in the nokia website, it's only (semi) compatible with PC suite, and they acknowledge this.

it is an awesome device, but still, it's not as comfy with nokia's and other companies' software as my old 5800 was...at least not yet. Nokia keeps saying they'll update, but until then, I feel the mighty N900 is weighed down by its own creator's laziness..

  • apparently this phone's resistive screen is AS sensitive as the capacitive ones like on Samsung phones and of course the iPhail. If that's true, then that's awesome. Responsiveness is a must! Nobody wants to put their thumb through the screen just trying to open a menu.

Two things this phone sounds like it definitely needs though: OLED screen and a BETTER battery rather than the 1320mAh thing it has :( oh well, didn't stop me from buying it. looking forward to keeping this phone for a long time.

  • i getting this 4 my bday, hell yeah and its only my second phone

  • the best phone ever!!!!

i sold my iphone for nokia n900 and i can tell the huge difference. n900 is far better than the iphone.

  • Compare to iPhone, what about its weight? I think the N900 is much heavier isn't it?

  • @amam511 much heavier indeed ^.^ and that's probably because it's a slider and has a keyboard, and has 2 speakers, and has a decent camera...and better earpiece....and....oh so many things that add weight.

And I'd forgive it for being even heavier than it is, if it was because the battery was a slightly bigger one that lasted much looooonger :(

  • @BrEnNo1023 Thanks for the answer. Are you happy with the N900 or would you recommend on another device? Is there a next generation for the N900? by the way the battery life is also a problem with other Nokia device even much smaller.

  • @amam511 as far as I know there's only one generation of N900, with nokia they don't give phones generations, they just make new ones under different names, all their products are different...which gives you abundant choice in regards to features, functions and prices.

I'm happy with the n900, but my old 5800 worked much better with service providers' SIM services and nokia's own synchronising programs. I wouldn't swap back just because of that though. Dunno about any other brands though.

  • Portrait Mode SMS Now Available

Check My Page For The Review

  • I just ordered this phone. Now I can throw my iphone out the window!!

  • Wrong

    l

    l

    v

  • •UI only works in landscape mode (for now)

    •No smart and voice dialing

    •Outdated camera interface and features

    •No preinstalled voice-guided SatNav application

•No voice recorder, no MMS, and no handwriting recognition

•No FM radio application (despite that the hardware's there)

    •Limited third-party software availabilty

•Limited 3G support in the US (no AT&T)

WTF is this !!? the latest nokia didn't have this function ??

  • @tzezai I guess you have an iPhone then.

  • @tzezai woah!!!!! then thats seriously messed up. my brother uses the crap outta his n97 and still complains about the touch screen and speed. and some other bugs. n900s supposed to be flawless.

  • @tzezai WTF... the Maemo is still updating... and Nokia is full aware of that and always update the software of their phones in time basis...

So those flaws you list here is just because Maemo is a freshman... but you can update it as soon as Nokia finished the programming.

There's no reason for me not to buy n900 because its so amazing... especially the n900's power of multi tasking... its way better than n97 because of the linux-based MAEMO.

  • Display Type TFT resistive touchscreen, 65K colors??? wtf???

  • @dummyoffice

    It's actually 16 million colors.

  • Funny, because this is half the price of the iPhone, yet the Nokia has much more potential.

  • What kind of accent does that guy have?

  • @swordchucks4life Finnish

  • Mac vs PC : mac no viruses bla bla bla just crap.N900 vs iphone : n900 A MONSTER iphone a kid toy=Mama: look what mama bought you look its an iphone Baby: ASDASgasfdasdasdasd - Its crap trow it away .

  • Nice very nice, when it comes to Brazil? I'm brazilian and enjoyed this new "pocket computer" (:

  • i want a maemo teeshirt.............anybody in nokia got a few spare ones lying about in the office????

  • ur voice makes me sleepyy......Zzzzzzzzz

  • WOW. "TRANSITIONS TO SAW THAT CLOSES WHEN AN APPLICATION AND RETURN TO HOME is like the iPhone ???... The N900 is very good (of course, is another that looks like the Iphone) .. jijiji

  • wow i think this is the first nokia i've ever seen that looks the goods. Although the interface looks a little on the slow side, maybe the phone needs more ram

  • It only has 256 MB ram which is much less than most phones that have been out for a while. The HTC HD2 has 448MB but the iPhone only has 256 also...

  • @3Z3K13L08 the Blackberry Bold9000 is the only phone I've seen which has fook all RAM which still seems to work well and handle all of its applications and net browsing features. This phone is using Linux and it looks like it's struggling at times with the lack of RAM. I think for win7, linux, and Android, the phones will need to have at least 1GB...

  • But they won't have 1GB, they just won't :-(.

I don't like the iPhone but I was pointing out that a smart phone can run smooth on sub 300mb RAM. As much as I dislike it, it is still a great piece of hardware/software. It is also a very popular phone so I was making a comparison that most people could understand.

I can't imagine why you would need 1GB of RAM. Unless you're going to open every app on the phone at once, or load 20 YouTube videos at the same time, there is no use for such a space.

  • @3Z3K13L08 the iphone runs smoothly because it can't do anything and is restricted from doing anything. That's why apple is meant to 'just work' no multi tasking, and copy and paste took them an entire firmware update. most people are idiots, thats why iphone does so well. if you try and open 20 youtube vids at the same time with 1GB of RAM; you'll be struggling. 1GB should be enough to use skype, msn, email, take a call, simple word processing, and browse the net at the same time

  • @3Z3K13L08 ...500MB as an absolute bare minimum. But 1GB should allow them to function to their full potential. RAM is something that phone manufacturers have been very poor at implementing. as for the iphone, I wouldn't touch that piece of shit with your d1ck...I don't see any point in comparing the iphone to anything else on the market unless the company is trying to clone the iphone. it's like comparing the new McClarren MP4 supercar to a Toyota Prius because everyones got one

  • it has 250mb of ram! :| how much more do u want? xp can run on 250mb of ram! haha

  • @MOBMakaveli 1GB minimum

  • nokia n95 8gb was good in its time.

  • @gusem 8GB of storage, not RAM

  • i never said RAM, i there was a nokia n95, and then there was a nokia n95 8gb, they were actually 2 different phones.

  • i loooove finland

  • love that hes sitting there with a macbook.. wheres his nokia netbook? hahahaha.. at least they know one of their products is a piece of shit.

  • @AdamKaoru i love you!

  • LMAO thanks.

My favourite thing about Nokia is that they release something thinking its the best thing ever, and 6 months later they abandon it and everyone who bought it feels stupid. N97 much? Nokia SUCKS.

  • totally iphone killer !!

  • This guy forgot to say you can also zoom using the volume buttons on top of the screen! :-)

  • cres

o que bill gates es una ladron un cobarde y steve junto a wosh geniso traiconad¡os cno comprenwindonws mas plisssssssssss

  • here all the iPhone lovers just won't open up their eyes and admit that both Nexus One and N900 beat the crap out of iPhone.

  • THANK YOU! A few people i know really done my head in banging on about their iphone commercial monster crap! I love this phone cant wait til march when i upgrade!

  • @jamesmoocn hahaha ur right even sony ericsson satio beats the iPhone!

  • @jamesmoocn True, thats probably because the touchflow of most other phones hasnt been developed upto the extent of the iphone's.

  • I bought this phone (this was the vid that convinced me months Ago that i must).and it's amazing blows everything else out of the water.

The screen is smooth and responsive, no problems at all.

  • @ 0:24 someone should make some widgets that look like midgets.

  • Даааа! Ахуенный аГреГаТ! +++

  • Why is everyone saying GNU/Linux instead of Linux?

  • @MacintoshMan

they think it makes them look smart...

  • Because Linux as you know it is a sum of the linux kernel and the GNU tools: bash, lilo, grub, etc.

    search the net for gnu.

  • Because Linux is the core or kernel, but according to wikipedia the OS would be named GNU/Linux correctly

  • Sony Vaio P series fits in pocket! So don't tell a lie!

  • My car would fit in a pocket - depending on the size of the pocket...

  • Have you even seen the size of P series!? Just like psp...

  • I love this phone! I bought it and I'm totally happy with it!!! I'm in the LA area.

  • how dose this compare with the nexus one?

  • @Trainn360Guy n900 is wat better than nexus one...

  • what's wrong with his hair?

  • they are way too long too look good! This is what happens when hairdresser does not care... He needs a short style really easy to manage. Go to a good barber man!

  • He sprinkled it with Disco Dust.

  • Circling isnt as easy as pinch. When will mobile companies actually use it?

  • double tap instead.

  • 900,100th view

  • 0:31 is this the icon for Transmission? What is it doing on a Nokia smartphone?

  • Yes that is the transmission icon.

    What it's doing there, i don't know

  • this runs a full GNU/Linux operating system! Just like in a desktop computer, so you can definitly run transmission and download torrents on this mobile computer, and make phone calls too!

  • runs a full GNU/Linux operating system! Its not a phone, its a computer that can do phone calls!

  • I'm not sure what your talkng about.

dashboard, time, alarm Mobile network reception, Battery, Internet connection (3g), Available connected im status, Bluetooth and GPS are the symbols from left to right at 31 seconds.

  • Realy cool phone, but only 1000 of them for russia :(

  • Comment removed

  • 1000th rating ;)

  • i wonder what it look like the next iphone this june 2010 hehehe

  • As this is linux can I install any linux apps, and do something like fire up terminal and use ssh and sftp? and be able to programm, compile in c and python

  • It's beased off debian linux i think so with minimal tinkering things can be ported.

xterminal sshing etc are all easy if they're your thing.

  • If you like using your small Nokia phone then just shut up and be happy with it. There's no need to watch a video about a better phone and then crib.

  • "but a pocket PC"?

it is the pocket PC, finally!

  • err...me?

  • is a IE browser available on this. Or I can download one and install it.

I need a site which can be accessed only via IE and not via Firefox.

  • That makes no sense.

This is the best "phone" for surfing the web available.

  • This is an excellent OS paired with excellent hardware. BUT, I gotta ask, why. Why on Earth would they cripple it with a resistive touch screen?

  • @DC200560

Lot of reviews say that the resistive touch screen is much improved and works just fine :)

  • @DC200560 this hole "resistive sucks" thing really annoys me. Both techs have their advantages. It would be really naive to think nokia chose resistive over capacitive with no reason. Capacitive responds a little better (yes, only a little, since resistive has made huge progress, try the N900) to fingers than resistive, but not that much actually. Resistive: stylus, gloves (&everything). Capacitive: second finger for multitouch. That's it.

Oh, and sorry for my english, I'm from switzerland

  • GO FINLAND, N900 Designed in FINLAND.

  • Can I use this on AT&T's wireless network? Like I just buy the phone off of ebay and then just insert the chip in?

  • Yes.

  • Everything seemed awesome about this phone until I saw the keyboard, absolutely hate it. If you're going to have a qwerty keyboard, at least give the buttons some kind of shape like a dome or something for us slightly bigger handed users.

  • they are domed! The keyboard is surprisingly good!

  • Can someone tell me whether can i take a RDP of windows machines(Server 2003 and server 2008) using N900.

I looking for the MSTSC login.

  • maemo 5 seems to be the best OS ever, and as i know, there's the possibility to install windows in macbooks

  • looks good, i hope it does not have windows mobile(since I didnt get what OS he said this phone has)

  • It's running: Meomo ( linux based )

A pretty new but promising new phone OS.

  • Why are Nokia going down? This actually shows a great deal of promise - and i'm far from a buisiness man.. I hate onscreen keyboards, so this suits me fine. Just wish they would release the bloody thing so I can sell my piece of crap Omnia HD.

  • hahaha, i agree with you. on screen keyboards are not suited for us people with larger finger tip diameter. and the buttons have more surface area than those on any sort of blackberry, so i was definitely in love with this phone. not gettin one soon, but soon enough.

  • they say it doesnt support video call or mms!! i mean wtf a 2010 mobile that doesnt have those things!!

  • So how often do you actually use video call or mms? Or more appropriately, why do you need those, when you have the whole wide web at your disposal ? You say they are behind with their technology, I say you're way behind in thinking. Grab a banana and shut your pie hole with it.

  • The problem is not the phone - it's that Linux doesn't support MMS. That will be fixed with an update, and the video call will also.

  • I have a n95. For the n900,I've been thinking it's the best phone, and waiting for it for too long. Several times heard it is delayed again and again.

So even if you keep people buzzed with it, it wont change. Now I will buy a HTC HD2 since nokia is not able to be on time.

  • Ironic!... The guy has a macbook on his desk, yet Nokia have never supported Mr Apple and his computers with there software. Maybe Nokia have seen the light with the N900?

  • not really the guy just happens to use a mac book for his work

  • So?! its a Mobile Company Not an OS Company

  • Comment removed

  • nokia seen the light by using linux

  • cooooooool i think the best of the best IPHONE 3Gs

  • good thing i didn't get the n97, this looks way better

  • With my samsung i8910 I can do now the same things.... And it has the same hardware... for soem parts more powerfull...

  • Samsung may make the ebst LCD HDTV 1080p 120MHz and 240MHz sets - but in the cell-phone world Samsung sucks no matter what they try.

  • I personally think the zoom function-thingy in the browser was pretty cleverly done.

  • how much would the data plan be for this on att? anyone know?

  • this phone won't work with att 3g only tmobile 3g for north america, it probably cost you $15 for unlimited web for at&t family plan is $10

  • *facepalm*

  • the fact that he has a macbook doesnt mean he has an iphone

apple makes a lot better laptops that they do phones

  • it's mine!

  • my future phone haha!

  • Wow... Amazing phone. I'll buy one

  • Another thick/heavy phone...I prefer the HTC HD2

  • Mmm - because the HTC HD2 is soooo small.. and WinMo, weelllll everybody looooves Winmo!
