  • best overclock i ever managed (i haven't tried much) was an old pentium 3 rated at 650 mhz up to 910 mhz. just the OEM heatsink fan. it was a slot 1 type chip. 71.4% - did it with an Asus P3B-F rev. 1.04.

when i first bought it back in like 1999, i just kept it at 866 to be safe, but once the P3 got outdated and i upgraded i used this board as a file server on the LAN and bumped it to 910. it was on for 7 months, and then the power went out.

    but 203.1% thats just ridiculous!!!!

  • Actually u did a 40% OC, add it up again its not 71.4%

  • dude i tryed to do a overclock it worked used my custom made liquid nitro thing its almost like a watercooling system but it is different no plastic tubes or theyde freeze it goes back to the tank then out again and i made it to 16ghz quadcore sry no video it was to big like a hour long and its 2gb heh

but no lie at all it works i use it as a server atm

  • this is the kinda shit you get from 7 or maybe 8 y/o's

Seriously, ur a fucking noob cunt.

  • nothing like frost on your cpu

  • When you put in the liquid nitrogen in I sereously thought you where dead. I have a sugestion though, How about you put cubes of dry ice in the liquid nitrogen?

  • great experiment.of course you could damaged the cpu if you were using the original heatsink.you are the MAN man.you overclocked this ??????? cpu to 3.8 (stable)

  • Wow...! Very nice experiment. Wouldn't have expected liquid nitrogen to work out... E. g., what about phase transitions in silicon single crystals?

  • And the point of this....I always wandered why everyone thought 4Ghz was so cool on the P4s considering they berely increased in performance with a 1ghz OC. They were shit processors made purely to hit high speeds with no true performance. Cool, you hit 4ghz with an old Pentium. Now go benchmark it so everyone can laugh at how slow it still is lol.

  • I have managed to OC a 2.8 Celly up to 3.2 without any voltage adjustments

  • I have OC'ed my E6750 from 2.66 to 3.6 without even touching the Voltage also.

    Purely with air cooling.

I clocked it back to 3.2 since there is no real difference between 3.6 and 3.2.

  • i overclocked my amd from 2.6 to 2.7ghz, it was a pretty tense moment, i thought my pc would crash huge, melt down, burn up who knows? anyways all went well and i added 3 points to my benchmark. well worth the risk!

  • lmfao 100 mHz difrence not gonna make mutch difrence i overclocked my computer from 1.3 to 2.0 gHz i just hade to buy a better headsink and your done

  • dude, he overklocked it with 203.1%. thats nothing u could do by just buying a new headsink.

  • the song is Within Temptation dont know the title though.

Just got the amd 5000 black edition... Hitting 3.3ghz for now, stable and on air

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Ice Queen - Within Temptation

  • Song: Ice Queen

    Album: Mother Earth

    Band: Within Tempation

  • that's insane, lol like a poor gamer's dream. i haven't tried overclocking my cpu yet but so far i managed to get my geforce 6200 up from 285/800 to 325/875 and so far it's good. if i ever get the guts to look into overclocking my celeron though, i think i'll try taking it from 2.4 ghz to somewhere around 3.2

  • Liquid Nitrogen is rather expensive if I recall correctly, and on top of that you would need a constant supply of it, so in the end it would probably be cheaper just to buy a new computer...

  • WOW, you must be special or sumthin right?!?

  • nope it is cheap. a superclocked processor beats a newer one :P do u know what u r talknig about?

  • Liquid Nitrogen or LN2 is not expensive, rather cheap. cheaper than dry ice!

  • Yeh and u use it for 10 minute benchmarks for world record setting not for every day use...

  • im running with an Amd processor with stock cooling and i overclocked it from 2,6 ghz to 2,9 ghz and it's stable this is a dual core :)

i also overclocked my nvidia 7950 gx2 to 570 core clock and 701 memory clock with stock cooling and it's running perfect

  • atlhlon 5200 by any chance? if so mine is also runnin 2.9

  • Where the hell do you people keep getting your hands on liquid nitrogen? I'm sure in the future you can find liquid nitrogen at every corner drug store but here in 2007 its kinda hard to come by.

  • nice back to the future reference

  • I OC'ed my AMD 64 3200 from 2GHz to 2.2GHz on STOCK!!!

  • Not bad, but you should be able to get em to about 2.5-2.6ghz on stock.

  • i took my amd xp 2400+ from 1.6 ghz to 2.1 on stock cooling :D

  • I OC:d my 3000+from 2GHz to 2.5GHz with passive cooling :P

  • I totally suck at any overclocking, as I have never oc'd my P4 2.0GHz although I would like now... but -100 degrees C? That is just SICK, it would freeze the blood in your veins in a few seconds... COOL!!!

  • I think I will replace my MSI K9N4 ultra for a Abit nfoce 590 board

  • the board was modded to support that voltage

  • Yes it was.

  • lol =]

  • you can get 4 Ghz out of a Pentium D and even more on a Core 2 duo

  • Quote:

"How many people are going to say this is not logical or that there are way faster CPUs...

Its a OVERCLOCKING CONTEST, so you get ANY CPU, and the more you can overclock it, e.g. 100Mhz to 1.1Ghz would mean that its a 1000% overclock, clearly beating 200%, but obviously it would still be slower (and probably not possible either!)

So its the higher xxx% of overclock that matters, not the final clockspeed or it actually being ANY use at all."

  • how can you overclock a 100mhz processor to 1.1ghz? I heard once someone overclocked a 486 to 288mhz and it blew up

  • Thats the point it blew up ;)

  • Within Temptation - Ice Queen

  • you should do an dell xps or a alienware alx

  • How many people are going to say this is not logical or that there are way faster CPUs...

  • You are exactly correct.

  • right the pentium 3 made grounds for the pentium M and other processors and they are still being made for embedded applications I have this old pentium 3 system and it runs without a fan because I use AS5 and a socket 462 heatsink where the processor from that was fried

  • wow.. awesome.

    wht's the song's title anyway..?

  • also very nice overclock =]

if you can be bothered :P have a quick look at mine, nothing special. just a p4 2.8 @ 3.6 ghz with air cooling...

i managed to get it at 3.72 after i made the video =[ haha anyway fantastic vid man keep up the good work

  • the song is

    Within Temptation - Ice Queen.

    Nice vid =)

  • hello. what is the title of this song? it's very good... thanks :)

  • windim temptation or something. only know how to say it, not to write ir. just search on youtube for temptation and u find it it think.

  • thats insane :D i got my p4 3.0 @ 4.2 with a normal watercooling system

  • just doesn't seem logical

  • Sweeet

  • they come in Quad and Dual core. I'm gonna get some too when they come out.

  • Yeh I am gonna run two quads in my board, totaling 8 cores :P NICE!

  • Yeah! you're gonna be so cool, all the girls in your nieghborhood are gonna want to check their myspace on your computer.

  • wait till' AMD releases there new Phenom processors, woth their new 10h Achitecture, bout' time they left the aging K8 architecture... AMD's rock!

  • Yeh I know I am getting two as soon as they come out and throwing them in my quadfather.

  • Well, if I'm not mistaking, the 486 was overclocked from 25MHz to 247MHz which is 988% OC... The processor lasted for 2-3minutes and then blew up. At least that's what they said... But it was never recorded so it all might just be crap.

But hey, 203% OC, and recorded, looks amazing :-)

  • Yeh I am not sure about that, I know that older cpu's could be OC'd by changing the crystals which could sometimes give a 200% OC but I doubt any of these where recorded.

  • Celerons have always had quite a bit of headroom, even with stock air cooling. Second-gen Pentium II Celerons were overclockers' favorites back in the day. 366 (66x5.5) Celerons could hit 500 (100x5) without difficulty or instability on stock cooling, and match the "faster" Pentium IIs in theory and in practice.

I notice that the multiplier number never changed. I'd bet that unlocking the multiplier would have allowed more headroom, though I'm not sure how on that Celeron.

  • Awesome Cascade Dude. Sweet O/c. Now use a Quad core

  • it states that this cpu is based off of the Pentium III. Actually, it's based of the Pentium 4. The P III .13um based chip is called the Tualitin.

  • true, it was the later celeron M's (yonah/merom)that were based on the Pentium III (and off them the Core2 is based)

  • ***** gj!

  • omg!!1!!!11!

that is SICK...after watching this twice it makes me wonder about my system...but iv only gotten my AMD FX 62 2.8 and 3.6 stable...but thats not so bad considering Im air cooling LOL very nice, props boys, props.

  • Well thats not a bad overclock at all for air! Also AMD's dont clock no where near as much as Intels :(

  • As much as I hate to say it, your right. Iv never been a huge fan of intels. I'm just waiting for AMD to get back in the lead ;p

  • Hey mate, I totally agree!

I kinda hate the whole major corporation + government support that intel gets, I prefer the more 'Indie' / Guru that is AMD...

  • amd has a better fsb speed than intel anyway.

  • Did have...

  • i thort they have 2ghz fsbs dont they? i dont know much about them lol i build intel systems, i have been a fan of amd since i got my first k6-2 450mhz haha, i gotta start looking into building some amd systems.

    intel is still at 1333...

also amds released a quad core now :)

    wouldnt mind one of them.

  • I Own a system with Dual, Dual Core AMD FX-72's

It runs 15,000+ 3dmark06, when overclocked

  • farout! that would be awesome.... you should get your hands on one of the new quad cores =P

im looking into buying a nice amd agp board considering i just spent 150 bnucks on a 7300 gt and i got agp instead of pci-e :(

do you have any recomendations for an amd gaming system? like amd processor what you reckon would be minimum about 6000+?

  • I wouldn't go for a AMD at the moment, I would wait till AMD releases its new tri-core systems, mid next year.

As for my next system its going to be in April 08, Dual Intel 3.6Ghz 1800FSB Skull-trails Quad-Cores (total eight cores.) and two Nvidia 9900Ultra's (or whatever they will name them) in SLI on PCI-E-II 32x, with 8GB Corsair DDR3 1800Mhz 8-7-7-24 RAM (4x 2GB) in Dual, Dual channel (because of 2 cpu's u must have two dual channel mem banks.)

    ;)

  • HOLY FUCK

    dual dual channel!

thats like so much bandwith lol....

and what do you mean by tri core? three cpus?

holy shit... technology is moving sooooo fast... i didnt even know fsbs were up to 1800mhz yet

and definatly didnt know ram was up to 1800

last i heard, they were ar 1333, with ddr3 1333.

anways, maybe coz im in australia, technology kinda not up to date here. LOL

  • I am in Aust too lol! From Canberra.

Anyway, yeh the tri-core AMD's will be 3 dies (ie 3 cores) on one waffer.

As for the FSB's at 1800 they aint yet but will be when that cpu I want is released around March.

And yes RAM is already up to 1933Mhz!

Also, my current setup has dual dual channel.

  • Wow im down in melbourne haha.

I cant wait for fsb 1800 to arrive. thats so much bandwith... do you have any idea what the overall core speed will be?

as for ram at 1933mhz that is amazing!

So much for my 533fsb with ddr 333 haha

  • Well it might actually be 2000FSB, around may with 3.8Ghz.

  • Aaah not too bad... it wouold be nice to see intel go past the 4 ghz mark...

amd has a 4.2ghz am i right? or is it like a 3ghz 4200+ lol, sorry i dont know much abotu them :S

  • Nope...

It means the equal performance to a 4.2ghz, but it is done by using 2 cores... AMD's best is actually 6400+

  • wut song is this?

  • It is called "Within Temptation" by "Ice Queen"

  • OMG!!!! AWESOME!!! makes me wanna rip my pc apart and start overclocking!!!

  • Is that a compressor cooling a compressor cooling the CPU in the beginning? If so, where do you get those compressors and what liquids(köldmedier?) do you use in the systems?

  • Its more than just a compressor its a phase change cooling system, a dual tage system is known as a cascade and if you want one some people can make you one up but be willing to pay $1000+ for it ;)

  • thats amazing

  • omg that sick good job guys

  • Please rate guys and give feedback on what you think! :)
