I beat you. I'm 26 and I still want to but not only that I'm from the USA and your Grand Prix was a hell of a lot better than ours because it used actual go carts. the catchy music makes up for no commentary from Pat during the stunts and the Fun House.

I love going karting, but yea id love to see the american version now just to compare them never realised it started in america, what a great one ours was though very proud of it myself haha, but the house for the american one was more like an actual house, rather than a fun house at a fun fair, I also love those at fair grounds their loads of fun haha, got those sort of rolling wheels you go through or something down to an art form, can keep walking in the oposite direction for ages!

There were some people on ebay who did sell them. But they have since gone out of business.

Four differences in the race between the US and UK versions:

1) Only 4 each of 10 and 25 point tokens. The US version had 6 each.

2) No Token Bank, which contained 200 points worth of tokens. This was added to the US version in 1989.

3) The races on the US version had a different theme. Not so in the UK.

4) There were only two laps in the US as opposed to three.

But other than that, very faithful to the US version.

I live by the motto "never meet your childhood heros" which includes never watch your favourite tv show when you was a kid as an adult, because it'll never be as a good as you remembered it. However, I think this one is the exception to that rule; great show! :)

Another thing worth mentioning, when the show was cancelled those karts were given away as a prize in the Beano. Man I wanted to win that competition.

One point to mention is that the American version weren't allowed to use proper carts. They were pushed around the track, we got proper ones with a motor.

me and my bro used to watch this and choose right from the start which team we wanted to win..then when it got to this part and we could judge who was pickin up the most tokens, we'd slowly change our minds and want the winning team to win..the reds always won it seemed and i felt sorry for the yellows
