@myxbox117 Talk is cheap son. Not only that, but the fact that you have a faster truck (If, in fact, you do) doesn't make this truck "slow." It's one of the fastest factory trucks EVER MADE. Don't give me this horse shit bwoh. These trucks are sweet right out of the box and they're quite reliable compared with an equally fast truck you had to modify to be as fast as the SRT. That's the major advantage of buying a vehicle engineered and equipped from the factory to handle 500hp+.
@myxbox117 You can pretty much always go faster if that is what you want. But the fact stands that when it comes to trucks of this type the SRT-10 remains a solid option right out of the box. Most people don't want to own a vehicle which is heavily modified and for most people this vehicle is plenty fast. Plus, the Ram SRT-10 is in a class with very little competition, unlike the Corvette, Viper, GT-R and 911. Seriously, who cares if you can build a faster truck?
@myxbox117 I also don't think people buy this truck because their ultimate goal is maximum performance. If that were the case they'd buy a Viper instead because it's far faster and gets better fuel economy with the exact same engine. A "sports truck" will always fall well behind a sports car of the same horsepower due to more weight and worse aerodynamics, but it's still cool. The allure of an SRT-10 is that it represents the American way. It's excessive, fun and really fucking cool.
@myxbox117 In light of all of this, it seems to me that the average SRT-10 buyer wants a unique vehicle more than ultimate speed. They like the idea of a vehicle which performs like a reasonably competent sports car while still having the capabilities of a truck. You might have a truck which can beat this SRT-10, but it doesn't make it "slow" by any reasonable standard. I'd also like to point out that the soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission, that V-10 sounds gorgeous.
@myxbox117 I've dusted lightings on the track every time I've gone out. The lighting is a fast truck the Dodge Ram SRT-10 is the worlds fastest production truck... period!
Aweseome sounding... I just purchased the magnaflow exhaust and I'm looking at headers now. I haven't decided if I should go with cat-less or hi-flow cats on the mid pipes. Can you tell me more about the exhaust system?
@alqaqish Go with the high flow cats. I've found that they make life easier. It's a real pain to have to have someone lined up to do your emissions inspection year after year.
Sorry it took so long to reply btw. For some reason youtube didn't notify me that people were commenting on this video.
@sean3ist1 I couldn't agree more. The soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission with these trucks. Honestly, this is the only truck I've ever been in that I really want. That exotic sound and the well rounded performance in all areas is just so fucking cool man. The V-10 has one of the best powerbands I've ever experienced. The engine pulls at ANY rpm. It will punch you back into the seat off fucking idle. I remember I knew a guy who had a 1st gen viper. His engine made 350ft.lb. at .....
@sean3ist1 .. the wheels OFF IDLE when he dynoed it. That kind of N/A performance is one of the best attributes of this truck. When we consider the broad powerband and N/A throttle response, as well as the excellent handling and braking performance of the truck, it becomes obvious that it's a very well rounded package. It's actually a vehicle which you want to take out onto twisty roads. The best way I can describe it is like driving a massive touring car.
@sean3ist1 I still can't believe that there's a truck out there that actually makes the driver want to go out into the twistys, and yet here it is! As you power out of a turn in this truck it just feels insane. You're riding the crest of a sheer wave of torque at low to mid rpm and massive horsepower as the rpm rises. The truck grips well and simply rips out of turns. Damn I'm getting worked up talking about this truck!! :)
This thing is a BEAST! I'm thinking about getting one.
