Bill, Your mother was one of the grandest people on the face of the earth. She was, indeed, my favorite teacher of all time. She had an uncanny knack for making one feel very special when all-the-while she was the special one! I shall always hold her in high regard as do both my parents who also taught with her. It was a dark day when we lost her, but her light shall always shine within each of the students whose lives she touched. She was truly a remarkable lady!
I want to thank you so much for bringing back so many good memories. I never had Mother Holmes but she spread such joy over the whole school. Vicki Class of 81
Even though I never had her for a teacher, Mrs. Holmes was always upbeat, encouraging to everyone, and jolly. Val certainly takes after her. Thanks for making me feel even older! Great memories!
Thanks for posting this. Betty Jo Holmes was my dad's first cousin, his name was Thomas L. Dickison. This is Scott Dickison formally from South Shore, Kentucky. I have video I took somewhere when I was in high school of Mrs. Holmes playing Santa as well.
Your mom was a super lady, thanks you for sharing this.

I do not believe Greenup County High School existed in 1972. Must've been McKell High
School. Darin Floyd here.
