A GPS receiver computes your position by measuring the radio signal propagation delay (the time the signal takes to travel from the satellite to your receiver) and by myltiply it by c (299792458) to calculate the distance between the satelites and the receiver's antenna.
The satellites send, for that, an extremely precise time signal and also transmit their keplerian data, so the receiver can predict the satellite's position in space and therefore your position on the Earth.
Today's GPS system uniquely relies on atomic precision CLOCKS to compute your position.
