Besides, the term "Space Marine" has been applied to nearly every human soldier in a sci-fi universe (Aliens, Predator, Halo, Starcraft, etc.) so just outright calling them Space Marines just makes it REALLY lame namewise.

Making the Space Marines fight Space Goblins....makes it even lamer.

@Salroah7 Warhammer has been around since the 80s, Blizzard took almost all of it's ideas for Starcraft from the Warhammer Universe, including Space Marines and Thors. In fact, the space marines from warhammer are all categorised with names, like the guys here are the Ultramarines and the red guys are the Blood Ravens but Relic arent going to call them that because people will have no idea what they're talking about if they call it "Ultramarine".

Nah, I (as a HUGE Halo nerd) know for sure Halo was inspired in MANY ways from Aliens. The Pelican came from the Executive Dropship, Sgt Johnson came from the Marine Sergeant who acted exactly the same...heck, the first Elite concept image looked JUST like an extra-spikey Alien. Plus, in Halo:CE, the phrase "I've got a bad feeling about this" was said in the same exact way right before contact with the Flood.
