Russians were not new to arm wrestling at the time. In an interview I saw with Alexey Voevoda he mentioned his ancestors arm wrestled to pick the best soldiers for the military. But Russia didn't compete internationally until around this time in the 90's.
LOL u guys just look at youtube videos and make judgments. the georgian guy was bending his wrist as a defensive move not because his wrists were weak.
Dude lol having your wrist being bent backwards IS NOT a defensive move... its the beginning of the end. IF you lose your wrist the match is about always yours
i don't if you realized but u contradicted yourself. do u mean the wrist is really important or is it not important. what is said is confusing. being in local arm wrestling events i know what i am talking about. beding ur wrist backwards is actually a defensive move because i've seen many people use it even against myself. underside of your triceps play a HUGE role in arm wrestling. wrist doesn't matter that much all of you guys think it does
well idk how u get that happening but as i had said its a defensive move to bend ur wrist backwards as it spreads the exertion of force to the wrist joint as well as ur under elbow muscles which helps with defense and not offense.
not its neither defense or offense its called getting top rolled and it is no way an advantage. When your wrist is back like that your in trouble and clearly on your way to losing the match.
what are you talking he is georgian guy.zaur tskadadze is from georgia.FUCK RUSSIA. 1990 was soviet union.its broke in 1992 in this moment zaur was presented soviet union.but after 4 year when georgian restored independence zaur was presented georgia.understood?
I think it's very clear that Brzenk was playing with his opponent. Sometimes, instead of a quick win, you can play around for awhile before the final take down, and have fun. Brzenk is awsome here, period.
Yes indeed. John makes a reference to this match in his Ask John Brzenk page, and he says that he could have pinned Zaur in a second, but he chose to play with him.
I guess John can permit himself to do such things once in a while!
At some point, I am going to post two more matches John had with Zaur four years later in the same tournament. This time he went for the kill early on.
I have to agree with you. I don't understand why from the start the opponent gives Brzenk the advantage by bending his wrist forward. Then he starts moving his fingers around to regain control, but all to no avail since John has gained control.
Then John takes his time, as if he were playing with his opponent, and then smashes him in a split second.
just want to cut taurs wrist off...the man annoys me
