  • bastard ;) wp..

  • A Pleasure!... I wish I could play it half that well...

  • Thanks Brucetheb. As I've stated on other videos before the 247 take is the charm :-).

  • Sounds great on this guitar!! Difficult syncopation handled well.

  • great playing mate. where can i find the tab for this?

  • I gave some directions for them in the notes.

  • love love looove this song, its so cute! my friend crystal and i sing it all the time :P

  • cool!

  • Makes me think of Vienna in black and white.

  • I love this song, better on the Zither though. But great playing!

  • That is very cool.

  • I'm glad of the song.

    Thanks.

  • Whoa I tried picking this out on guitar but failed miserably.

    Great job!

  • Thank you for your efforts!

  • Made my Holiday! Happy Easter! Been a fan of this theme since I discovered the radio show from BBC first, before the movie. Both are terrific, as this fellow's adaptation of Anton Karas; I always wondered what it would sound like on an acoustic; now I know. Chops.

  • Happy Easter to you too! Thanks for the comments and glad you liked it. I always loved this theme and was really glad to find Marcel Dadi's version.

  • not bad at all on the guitar.. now try a pedal steel guitar version ;-)

  • haha that is so great! simply wonderful

    love that movie

  • Congratulations!

  • Brilliant! well done. I need to learn this!

  • beautifull

  • Thanks!

  • Nice. but the original is a "little" bit better

    ;-)

  • True both for Karas and Marcel Dadi - but that's why I'm only on YouTube :-)

  • I wouldn't attack You! Sorry!!

I wish I could play the guitar as YOU! But I can't :-((

    Best wishes from Germany

    Sgt. P.

  • No problem at all - I appreciate all comments so thank you. Best wishes, plugh1

  • HIi plugh1!

Thanks for your answer. I was loking in your other guitarclips. Respekt! I like it verry much!!

    Sgt.P.

  • Felicidades

    Congratulations

  • Awesome! I saw the original version by Anton Karas first and couldn't believe my eyes (and ears of course :-)). But play that on guitar - congratulations :-)

  • Many thanks for the comments. The original Zither version is totally amazing.

  • are the notes/tabs available for free or do i need to buy em? cos i really want to learn this one but buying notes isnt really an option :/

  • Bravo! Fantastic.

  • Many thanks.

  • thanks.

  • That is great playing. I'm sure no one could play this tune better on a guitar. I was surprised to see it done so well on a guitar.

  • Thanks! If you like the guitar version you might wnat to check out Marcel Dadis version (this is from the tab of his arrangement). I list the CD details in the notes - he was an excellent guitarist.

  • It is Ok, but to play on zither gives better sound.

  • Hey! Really good. It must be tough to keep the constant bass pattern an an independent top line going at the same time. You must have two brains! Congratulations!

  • Oh really lovely played! Especially the flagoletts (<-- I don't know the English word for it)!

    Lovely.

Oh I wished to have the tabs too :(

  • Awesome!!!!

  • nice 1 !

  • Well - many thanks!

  • my grandfather used to play this song on his zither

  • That is beautiful

  • Thank you!

  • its me again could you please could you please send the cd details so i can order it,the record label and disc number or even where you bought it.searched the net to no avail.regards paul

  • The vol 1&2 shows unavailable but Vol 1 & 2 available seperately Amazon - . Search for Marcel Dadi. I think it's on Vol 2.

  • ASIN is B00000I3QB and it shows on the UK Amazon site too. The 2 volume version has the guitar tab so I have to assume this does as well but could easily be wrong. May have to wait for a while for it to ship though.

  • great music, got the cd but no tableture where can i get it

  • My CD was a 2 CD set by Marcel Dadi and it came with the tabs.

  • Salut cher plugh1! Je suis français et j'admire ton interprétation...je cherche la partition!

Ok, now in english...Hello dear plugh! I'm french and i admire your play! I'm looking for the tabs too.

    Thank you!

  • Thanks for the comments. Your English is a lot better than my French. I got the printed tab with a CD by Marcel Dadi. Details are in the notes with the original video. Hope that helps.

  • brilliant

  • Thanks!

  • love that song.. good cover.

  • Thanks - love that piece too and the Movie.

  • bon morceau sympa quelques erreurs mais bon niveau quand meme merci à toi

  • Merci Bien. Je garderai pratiquer :-) I hope that's the right French for 'I will keep practicing'.

  • q groxo

  • That was great. I enjoyed what you did with it.

  • Beautiful piece.I've appreciated your version of this song.Cheers.

  • Thanks!

  • Very good indeed, great 'Zither' tone on your guitar.

  • Thanks for the kind words.

  • that looks really difficult to play - well done

  • Thanks! Still a bit rough in places though.

  • Haven't heard it for years now (one of those records you lend out - that never returns) but it reminded me straight away of the Chet Atkins version circa mid '60's. Still way beyond my slim talents though.

  • On the liner notes for the Marcel Dadi CDs it's fairly clear he was heavily influenced by Chet Atkins so that makes a lot of sense. Some other Chet Atkins pieces on the CD too.

  • I am looking for an mp3 with this music. I try to download it, but its extremely rare. maybe you can give me a hand? your play is great btw, and the movie is one of the best ever, all the originalities etc.

  • Thanks for your comments.I can't help you with an MP3 but the CD I got this from is available on Amazon. Search for Marcel Dadi - It's Vol 2.

  • Brilliant video. I just had the pleasure of seeing this film for the first time last week in my Film Noir class, and it is absolutely incredible, due in part to the amazing music. It's infectious. Great job!

  • Thanks for the comments! You're absolutely right - the music does add a great quality to the film.

  • This is great. I was surprised to find that someone on youtube had actually done it.

  • Thanks - I always thought I'd like to be able to play this and then came across Dadi's version.

  • nice job. I can almost see Orson smirking in the shadows.

  • :-) Thanks. Love the movie and the music.

  • I like this version. Martin Carthy does a pretty good rendition of it, but it's in CGCDGD tuning. It's worth checking out, though.

  • Thanks - I'll definitely check that out. A different tuning might be worth investigating too since the chords in the version are a little awkward to transition.
