time has change and we have to be political correct and talk about whitney or michael but liz will live on forever yes but monroe die at a very young age and liz have a full life at the time of her death a very sad day for me she was already a very old woman
That's St. Cyril's Church on Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, just up the street from where I grew up. That Christening is John, ... I remember him riding his bicycle around the Libbit house in the early 70s. Also sad to see how nice that part of the Valley was in the 60's; I can see why my parents moved there in '59, from Hollywood. That MG dealership in the background was a Porsche dealership when my friends and I were whipping around St. Cyril's big parking lot on our bicycles.
yes is true is anew major movie about monroe but maybe one day will be one on liz taylor but since she has a full live with children and family it will be more complicate, hollywood want to make a new movie on bardot but she said she will stop the movie
Funny how the baby howls in sync w the music as the clarinets & horns wail. Clark Gables widow shows such a brave lovely face. And yes she showed a lot of class inviting Marilyn. Part of Kay must have been so sad but another part had to get on w it &live for the moment & march on for the child's sake. She seems happily & firmly ensconced in motherhood... something Marilyn never got to experience. I think her numerous failed attempts at getting pregnant wounded her feminine soul & psyche deeply.
No one mentioned the other actors, there were a few... Im sure they didn't just show up just to be seen at the event of the heir of one of Hollywood's royalty. They probably showed up out of respect for Clark Gable. I'm sure. It was nice of them. I was amazed to see Jack Benny & Fred Astaire. There was another greek guy I think. Don't remember his name. A well known actor, name escapes me.
Too bad Clark couldn't be present he passed away in 1960, I actually went to this school but for only one year 1963 to 1964 5th grade St Cyrils it's in Encino i freaked when i first saw this video, spent plenty of time in that church
How crazy! I believe that most of these personalities showed up just to be seen at the event of the heir of one of Hollywood's royalty. I wonder id Loretta Young;s and Clark Gable's adult daughter and her husband showed up.
amazing high quality video, sad that it was the christening of a fatherless child and in some way, Marilyn lost a father twice. For her,Gable was like a father.thank you
@foratti Liz taylor was the biggest hollywood star ever when she die she was in the cover of every news paper in the whole planet, La Taylor was not a good actress but like ava gardner said we were good to look at
@siempremarisol To speak of a great beauty we must meet several things, among the the body and the height. A woman of 5'2'' and with a bad body (Liz Taylor), honestly is not in the same league, in the same level of great beauties like Rita Hayworth for example who has a perfect body and was very beautiful in the whole package, aso Marilyn had a spectacular body (when she was in her right weight) and she was so beautiful and Brigitte Bardot had a spectacular body in her complete film career.
@siempremarisol Liz Taylor may have been the biggest star of her time, but Marilyn has become a myth. Almost 50 years after her death people are still writing about her. Heck, an Oscar caliber movie about her is coming out later this year. Marilyn has transcended legendary status. Her name alone "Marilyn Monroe" has become synonymous with "sex" and "eternal beauty." Not to put Liz down 'cause she was a great woman, especially during the AIDS epidemic, but there's nothing mythic about her.
@musicaltheatergeek79 We dont know yet how liz will fare with time but i know her death was very big plus liz was a living legend and marilyn was a death legend, liz dont die young and she was very famous even whem she die she was not in her prime it was a big event monroe is a tragic figure but liz was a great person and dont have to kill herself to be inmortlal as well as brigitte bardot the most beautiful movie star of all time the most copy woman in the planet still today
@siempremarisol Are you sure ? I guess no. Just notice today was Liz Taylor 80th birthday and they made her a very little and short tribute at the academy awards yesterday Marilyn passes away 50 years ago and she more alive than Liz Taylor who passed away only 11 months ago !
@foratti LIZ TAYLOR die at an old age plus her children are alive and controling everything with time liz will comeback it happened all the time look at audrey hepburn today she is bigger than when she was alive. all over usa at the sofitel hotel is an exibition of brigitte bardot dont miss when reach your city is now in los angeles will be in ny in september
@foratti the movie about marilyn was a major flop and has good review but nobody went to see the movie even with vivien leigh and larry in it i mean someone playing vivien the amazing scarlett
