  • I live in Wausau and have toured the transmitter building. The transmitter tower is located on top of Rib Mountain. The antenna is half way up the tower at 446 feet. That puts the antenna at 1,080 feet high above average terrain. The transmitter puts out 81,000 watts of power. This station has a huge footprint.

  • This is why HD radio works on FM...but not on AM.

  • HD Radio DXing is going to get easy as soon as antennas become more available for the hobby. I have not got any HD radio tuners yet, but I am planning on doing it soon when I get more money in my budget. HD Radio for AM is getting easy as well and you can hear WCBS-AM in clearer than regular AM. If HD Radio FM DXing is possible then I will be able to hear the stations in clear from Sporadic E Skip if lucky.

  • I need to get an outside antenna for my HDT-1...

  • Cool FM-DX !
