  • and its only focused on him.like the dog let us come in to the house except for that one particular guy, and then one asked if that person has eaten a dog meat and he said yes. and then added "thats why". im not really sure but i think dogs have really strong sense of smell.

  • i dont eat dog! though i know it was basically the Filipinos being condemned of eating dogs first. its said that if you actually eat a dog dish, the dogs will actually bear brunt on you i mean after u eat it.like when you pass by a house with a dog, they can actually smell it on you no matter how long youve eaten a dog since.even if its already decades.and theyll bark on you like they want to kill you.im not sure yet but when our group visit a house the dog really barked at 1 of my friend....

  • HOW ABOUT SISIG

  • Well..My Favorite Pinoy Food Would Be Balut...It's Not Disgusting..and actually the first thing i would bite is it's duckling or embryo or watever...and i also Love dinuguan..!X3..taste Yummy!...

  • The more exotic, the better.. so here we, Ant Egg Soup, Grasshopper (Duron), Philippine Beetle (Abal Abal). Monitor Lizard... and more... My wife is Ilocana, and she had tried every exotic food I knew in our place. We actually don't consider Balut as exotic food. You should try it, it tastes good with vinegar and salt.

  • Balut is a fertilized DUCK egg with embryo.. Healthy:))

  • @diqruz not that healthy actually. Too much cholesterol

  • i eat balut except the lilttle sisiw(chick),

  • balot taste's delicious

  • Sometimes filipino food is gross

  • @iTechNetwork then you havent tasted the fillipino food yet :-)

  • @multiplymelollipop1 i said sometimes

  • @iTechNetwork and.....??

  • Balut (usually pronounce as Balot in Manilenyo Tagalog) is an Asian delicacy in the Philippines. It can also be found in other Asian countries such as Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos where they have there own version of Balut.

  • my best filipino food is Pinakbet, Dinakdakan, Papaitan, Sinigang, Adobo, Kare-kare, Sisig, Laing, Bagnet, Litson, Ginataang kuhol, Balut, Ginataang Alimasag

  • @jmtolosa33 ginutom mo ako. haha

  • My favorite Filipino food is Tuyo and Gabi this what I eat if I have nothing to eat in the house

  • if you haven't tried balut yet (duck embryo and all), your being Filipino is incomplete :DDD

  • dinuguan is one of my favorite with puto yum yum.

  • Try the "kinilaw" or "raw fish" its like sushi but swimming in vinegar and sili (hot chili) which is also kinda-like "fish paksiw" only served cold and not as sour and no chilies.

  • the "gross" Filipino foods are actually cooked (balut and dinuguan) unlike other places where you put basically, raw things in your mouth. The only raw thing the pinoy`s have is the "kinilaw" or "raw fish" its like sushi but swimming in vinegar and sili (hot chili) which is also like "fish paksiw" only served cold and not as sour and no chilies.

  • Filipino Beef steak on a sizzling hot plate or Bistek as they call it here, is one of my favorite!!! Pork Sinigang is at the top of the list along side sweet and sour Lapu Lapu fish is just awesome... the great thing about filipino food is that recipes can be altered a little bit and food still tastes the same

  • DEENAHGOOAHN. NOT DING GUAN. LOL haha awesome man. Still pretty close. Also, SeeneeGAHNG, PAHNcit, BaLUHt, Balut is basically, a very salty chewy, unfertilized, unborn, duck.

  • You got a problem with filipino food? Cuz I'm going to slap you across the face with lechon and lumpia.

  • i have tried balut while i was in the Philippines getting married, i can say one thing i did not finished my wife loves them., my mother-in law dose not (smart women).

  • Adobo is also a mexican food, right?

I saw it in wikipedia.. XD

  • @PEACEnum1 NO!!

  • @philippines1998

haha search wikipedia. Mexico and Philippines.

  • @PEACEnum1 probably theres a ADOBO in mexico but its completely different to the filipino adobo version 게이 소년

  • @philippines1998

    Yup another version.

I think they also have a version of Sinigang. haha

  • in korean restaurants you can order an octupus and its moving!!!!Diniguan is good and its my fave ♥..so korean chinese or jap. foods are grossier i think..

  • lol im a pinoy its not a dick's egg its a duck's egg..ehmm...lol.

  • BALUT♥

  • I love Adobo,Sinigang and Balut....

But i ate a kind of balut that has no chick on it!! it taste very good

with salt and vinegar! and the juice of the balut its so yummy! taste so good!

  • SINIGANG AND ADOBO FTW!!!!!!!

  • OHM NOM NOM NOM. ^O^

I LOVE Sinigang, balut, adobo, lumpia, pandesal, ensaymada, mamon, and siopao (Sho-pow). Best food in the world!

You can get Ensaymada, Mamon, and Siopao (Is that how you spell it?) at Goldilocks in L.A. I heard the Manila Food Bus in Historic Filipino Town is good too.

    I am super hungry now.

  • balut is not chicken embryo... it's a duck embryo... usually they seasoned it with salt or vinegar, or both, for better taste. But I won't eat the embryo. just the yellow egg part. I am filipina but there are some certain filipino foods i won't eat. But they're all good, for sure.

  • Gutum ako!!

  • the dog meats actually banned here in the philippines...i nver tasted that i'm an animal lover

  • @joleemacron Ikr? have you ever tried balut?

  • @EmoCpAngel ...ummm i tried to eat but...i only eat the egg part not the duck embryo...why?

  • hahaha...i can cook for you ^_^ filipino food is the best...

  • adobo and lumpia is soooo good...

  • i'm filipino and i would never eat the hole balut:P i ate the egg part not the bird =_=" the bird scares me

  • isaw should be on the top five!

  • I LOVE FILIPINO FOOD.. Except the filipino exotic foodstuff.

  • I'm from the Philippines & I don't & can't bring myself to eat balut.

I've never heard of or seen a McDonald's chain here that sells balut.

The closest Filipino food to balut that I've eaten, is Kwek-kwek. It's a hard-boiled egg covered by something. I found out that it's is cooked differently between regions, so it really depends how it looks like. My friend is in college at another island and she says their kwek-kwek there are quail eggs, while where I'm at the kwek-kwek are chicken eggs.

  • BALUT is not a chicken egg.. it's a Duck egg

  • @pen02jeter so true.. :D

most of my classmates thought its a chicken egg..

  • @pen02jeter yes but not all the time... The Balut duck egg tasted more raw and nasty than the chicken balut so most of filipino eat chicken balut..

  • actually it's di-ni-gu-an

  • balut was brought by the chinese to the Philippines.

  • @reygood1 where did you get that from? It's an asia-pacific food if I think so it can't come from china... It was once featured on survivor. :))

  • @LuLLipY just visit this website: " heat2 manheat2-man.sulekha.com". But this not the site where I get the information.

  • you're overacting man!

  • mmmm mc spam :D

  • Balut is ok

  • I myself can't eat balut when I was young, but when I grew older and felt the perils of old age, I learned to enjoy balut with beer or gin tonic. the nutritional gratifications is worth mentioning. there are more weired dishes in the philippines like papaitan....from the word PAIT (bitter), its a soup dish with the flavor of slightly digested grass from goat intestine, which explains the bitter taste, and goat organs. wait till you hear what BURO is. tnx and more power!

  • LOL LOL I can't eat Balut. though I am from Philippines.. :D

  • Comment removed

  • my mom eats diniguan all the time at her work. She eats it like a fat guy and his cake. but its not my favorite food. i lovvvvee sinigang and chicken adobo!

  • balut is duck's egg, never chicken!

  • balut = duck eggs (not chicken)

  • One correction... Balut is mainly Duck Eggs. It's a fertilized Duck embryo, i forgot how many days but when you eat it, you can see all the parts of the duck developed enough to be recognizable. But it's good! Though after eating around 3-5 you'll feel like you've drunk around 10 cases of beer (depending on your tolerance). You should try "One day old" Chicks! It's a whole 1 day old chick de-feathered and deep fried. You eat every part of it and no internal parts were removed. xD

  • I've tried all those type of food you just said..back when I went for a trip to the philippines..and its not that bad. just say you ate something..and you later found out it was dog? and it tasted good..what would you feel after..

  • Arf Arf Arf

  • Lol Im Pinoy!!

I just want to say when u said SiniGang my friend think about Singaporeian GangSters!!

BTW Nice Try for trying to pronounce and comment on the food

"Balut" is a filipino delicasy that is also known as the "Love Egg"

  • i eat balut but not the chick inside...

  • @cassey05 yea my parents try and force me to...

I just cant eat that thing..

  • adobo is only cubed porks, crushed, garlic, vinegar, soy sauce and a lot of whole black pepper(according to your taste)... simmer it in a pot and let the pork cook... well that's how easy adobo is made(as of what iv'e learned from my mother)... =)...

  • @arscott2392 my mom loves adobo and she doesnt chop it in cubes

  • bhahahaha..thats funny on blood..."you dont have to say it" lol

  • regarding sinigang the emailer should have mentioned that it is cooked in a tamarind broth. this is what gives it it maasim (sour) flavour.

  • keng kong hahahha!!!!!

  • umm actually balut is made of duck not chicken egg. Anyway no offense :)

  • SISIG!

  • its um sin-E-gang? and i think its pan-seet

  • dude maybe u need to google the words first and listen to them before u say them in public!!!haha!!!

  • AT least his trying very hard ...

  • *kengkong* (the mocie with the giant ape)hehe

  • hahaha

  • @ihyottha

yeah thats my favorite food.. and also your kind..

  • HAHAHHAHAHAHA SINIGANG! PATEEESS/PATISSSSS Lol ang gago mo =P

  • my fav. is adobo., we used to ate it almost everyday., especially when thrs a family gathering., (sorry for my bad english )., btw i'm a filipino

  • we don't actually think that you'll like those food. we just want you to pronounce those dishes and see you wince. LOL

  • Balut is really nice... better when you hear the cracking sound of the small chick toes or beak.. heehehehe

  • that nigga did not make that sound good..lol

  • Balut is best eaten with salt or vinegar

There are two versions to it as well.. one is where the chick is matured and has already taken shape.. yup even I don't eat that one.. the other one is the opposite. It hasn't taken shape the the yolk is the biggest part of the egg.

  • I like chicken adobo

  • Balut is actually duck, not chicken. I didn't like it at first when I was a kid -- meaning: I love it now -- because I was afraid of the feathery-baby-duck parts.

  • yea i think pacific island food is preety bomb

  • thanks for disparaging mention on his english!!! how common, i doubt if you'd even mention such if it were from a chinese or japanese emailer...hooray

  • I love eating those!!

  • diniguan has a lot pig's blood in it..but its not gross cause your dont eat it raw like a..it is cooked and it turns black..hence the name, chocolate meat...

  • i <3 tortang talong! fried eggplant wih egg :D

  • balut tastes amazing with salt and vinegar.

  • hellooo... you never ever use garlic in sinigang! crazy..my way to make sinigang I using union, tomato, tamarin or mama cita sinigang mix..pork liempo is the best to make sinigang.gabi, kangkong, and radish..you can put eggplant, string beans and union leaves too if you like..remember no garlic in sinigang....

  • tol anong union?baka onion.

    o(^_^)o

  • Hot Balut is great coupled with Beer / Alcohol. Another Philippine cuisine that should've been included in the list is the "Pork Sisig" with egg. It's made with Pork Mask, chopped into tiny pieces with onions and other spices. Best served on a sizzling plate.

  • You can also try day-old chick. Day-old chicks that are rejected from the hatchery are killed and fried. It is served with vinegar.

  • Balut is a duck embryo usually at 14-17 days. It is then boiled and served. You can use a little bit of salt and vinegar if you want.

  • Its so nice to taste bizzare food in the Philippines

  • filipino food!!!! SI-Ni-GANG

  • balut is said to make one's knees strong...it is said you eat it before you make love, you could go many rounds with it...
