It doesn't matter what team you support, you could be a Jazz fan, a Laker fan, and Knicks fan etc, but at one point in our lives we've all been Bulls fans. We've all rooted for Mike and we've all watched his highlights and teared up. No player will ever have that kind of impact on our lives again. Growing up in 1990's was a blessing as far as I'm concerned because I got to grow up watching the Bulls dynasty. #MJbest2Everplay
@JTEchicago LeBron no, but Kobe, mabye. Kobe's a legend, not as big as Jordan nor better. But Kobe deserves a applaud when he retires, hes one of the best ever
God it kills me to say this....... Michael jordan is the brett favre of baseketball. That hurt my soul typeing that but with his 3 retirements thats the only thing to compare it to.
@Cokedlr Yeah but when he came back he didn't try to go to the Knicks to beat the Bulls like Farve went the Vikes to try and beat the Pack. Plus MJ went to training camp.
All 3 times that MJ retired, was after away games and not in Chicago.
-1st time was after a winning game (and championship win) vs Suns on their home court (game 6 of NBA Finals) back in 1993.
-2nd time was after again a winning game (and championship win) vs Utah
on their home court (again game 6 of NBA Finals) back in 1998
-3rd and last time, playing for Washington at Phily vs 76ers on their home court during a season game (not playoffs or Finals) which was a loss for the Wizards. MJ GOAT.
@petrucci15 good sign of respect for what he achieved, but alot of players get cheered on the road, lebron when he was a cav, blake griffin Drose quite often duncan used to, im not a kobe fan but i expect him to receive the same on his last game.
perhaps micheals most amazing moment in his life....when he won the game in space jam...jordans biggest clutch moment ever....the shot was almost not real.
There is always someone every so often that inspires people to play a sport, pick up a instrument, drive a car, paint etc. I didn't like him much, but he was that guy for a long time from the late 80's through the 90's for the sport of basketball. There will be another, just don't say Kobe because he never came close to that kind of fame.
And everyone else is still saying that Philly fans are the worst. Take a look at this video, then look at the Best Dad video, then look at Mike Scott's opening pitch video(watch?v=d4PvT2U1dLA).
Too all of the outsiders that'll eat up anything that the national media puts on their tables, open your eyes for once in your lives, and accept the fact that we are the best. And if you really want to see who the most classless fans in the US really are, go to Boston. Real class acts right there.
Still have the Wizards jersey. Jordan my favorite basketball player of all time. Call me a bandwagoner for jumping to the Nets after Jordan left the Bulls, but it was such an empty feeling that he retired that there was just nothing left to look forward to that is until Derrick Rose came to the Bulls but he's no Jordan.
Awesome, in every place where he played the people showed to him their support, love and respect. Ofcourse... He is "His Royal Airness". What a wonderful nick name... Just for the best of all times.
@egghead268 and that wasn't my comment you dumbass. Thanks for the Jerry Rice info though I'll put that in the back of my brain along side of how long my turd was this morning. You are a fuckin' retard, eat shit peckerwood.
No prob mang. I'm sure your turd was as important as your goals in life so don't forget about those. Next time I will be sure to remember to look up peckerwood, cuz I do read it very often O_o;;;
Well, MJ basically taught us all how to perform every sport better. There is a certain level of confidence that every pro player has. He showed us how to use it. Guys were working harder at work. We were all trying a little harder at everything we do. NO child in America could resist the magic of the GATORADE commercials. All athetes around the world would want a commercial that repesents our abilities and doing it in song. And to have children magically look at you wishing they were you.
@kr3w445 I agree. As much as it pains me to say this (as a Celtics fan), nobody meant more to the game than Michael Jordan. Not Bird in the clutch or Russells' 11 rings in 13 years.
Let me also add Chumpster1981 that Jordan had two great years with the Wizards! Look up his stats! As far as Favre, in 2009...statistically he had the BEST year of his career! 33 TD'S and just 7 INT's in his first year with the Vikings. At age 39! He should have been MVP that year not Manning! If not Favre then maybe Brees.
Sucks .. He should of just been done with it after the Bulls , and like Brett should of been done with it after the Packers. It's kinda rediculous actually.

Kobe might have led that trash team of lakers to a championship, but hell he had some support, as for jordan we all know he wouldnt have been able to win all 6 championships on his own. What those two great players have in common is to perform at top of their game every single time. One great thing about jordan, he made the players around him play at their highest level. Kobe, i dont think so otherwise why would he be credited to have one a championship on his own? Thats why MJ is the greatest.
@buckda54 That's the worst argument imagineable. Cuz kobe had shaq.. really? MJ didn't have Pippen? Magic didn't have Kareem? Kobe has 2 rings without Shaq and is chasing a 2nd 3-peat. is that cuz of shaq too?
@atm8705 No MJ credited PIPPEN in all those 6 wins, Pippen was the one who needed help, not MJ, not taking anything away from Pippen but MJ simply won it for the bulls all 6 times....meanwhile Shaq credited Kobe in the three peat let alone remind you who won MVP at those times..yeah I admit Kobe tookover in the 08-09 finals but it was only one time and in the last championship the Lakers won, it was flatout TEAMWORK
i agree with u that all those great players had help when they won championships. and kobe now has two rings without shaq but now he has gasol to help him
It doesn't matter what team you support, you could be a Jazz fan, a Laker fan, and Knicks fan etc, but at one point in our lives we've all been Bulls fans. We've all rooted for Mike and we've all watched his highlights and teared up. No player will ever have that kind of impact on our lives again.
