how can i do this effectively when the guy extends both legs (giving him a wider base) leans his weight on you? i encounter this problem coz i basically spar with wrestlers and they dont usually pop one knee out..instead they usually have both legs straight out or kneeling down. thanks in advance.. :)
@WisdomValleser Check out the following two videos for more information on this sweep. The first addresses your issue, and the second is another setup for it.
I've been able to pull this sweep off a few times but i seem to always seem to end up in half guard rather then mount when i pull it off does anybody have an idea as to why?
@dg43088 your getting your leg way into his thigh, just keep it in his knee and when you sweep him off, if he catches... dont let him take all your calf all the way to the knee.. just let him take your ankle.
Certainly... In fact, we show many different ways to use it from guard, half guard, and even during a mount escape in our new series called "The Aggressive Guard" available at our site.

The way I was taught this was if they post one leg up. I didn't know it was possible to do this if they were on their knees... Thanks! :D

so you can still achieve elevator sweeps even if they choose not prop up on one leg?
iNeKsT 2 years ago
Absolutely. There's some great setups for the elevator sweep that don't include him propping one leg.
