I want to learn how to play latin piano but I can't work out the patterns and notes at the end - do you sell a DVD or anything that explains it more slowly and clearly?
@anthonyhealy25 Agreed!! Whatta snow job!! R U Kidding me?? His "explanation" of the basics of Latin Jazz was terrible, if not downright nonexistent. And, if you're playing a piece in G#, then the dominant chord has to be D#, not Eb, as he pointed out. That's basic harmony! Please tell me this guy isn't teaching at a local junior college.
Oh come on! You don't no what latin is like, you don't no what Jazz like and you can't play the piano. You are not able to play in time. So this is my advice: Stop playing the piano and go on with breakdancing. Especially: stop making this videos! they are horrible!
I cannot make up my mind as to how many ways I could bash this idiots head in. Especially that its "less radio listener friendly"??? WTF is this freak of nature talking about???
You need to tune your piano. Then you need to sell it and give the proceeds to "Expert" Village so that they can afford to hire people who know what the fuck they're talking about.
Bio: Austin McBride has been doing Break Dancing for 4 years, featuring himself in about 6 clubs. He says break dancing is great for exercise and to impress friends.
You want to hear some great latin jazz piano, Rubin Gonzales from Cuba...outstanding. This is a joke, holy shit, mon, Listen to the Lake Beauavista Social Club...and the great Rubin G.
@banjoman2375 I hope he's joking! But I've actually met guys like this who introduce themselves to me at my gigs and want to sit in and they are just like this cat and they are dead serious thinking they can play. It's pretty scary sometimes.
with all due respect.. but this is a total missinformation on the subject. Austin Mcbride says that this latin jazz is "less radio friendly in the states and it's a little bit harder to come by" WOW WRONG FACTS, this music is available everywhere and it plays in the radio everywhere too, SECOND this Austin does not know how to play this style, his syncopation, timming and the use of chords is totally wrong... EXPERTVILLAGE PLEASE GET SOME REAL EXPERTS ON THIS SUBJECT. ** NO DISRESPECT MEANT**
Estoy buscando algo interesante y me aparece esta poronga de videos. Quienes carajo son lo boludos que suben estas pabadas haciendose los profesores????????
guys... let expertvillage share his knowledge there always be someone who like me who has no idea how to play . After two years maybe I'll be in the same level as all of you.
Man, you are more out of tune than your piano! Stay well away from music and leave teaching it to the real experts. You possibly have a future as a B list comedian though.
ouch, im by no means an accomplished player of piano, but only be an "expert" if you can play the chords right! he had the right idea for a few seconds though....

Latin Jazz?????????????
I. You should be using more of a jazzy chord progression like a ii V I
II. The chord progression you use was i iv V which in turn is the chord progression to the son montuno.
III. So if you where trying to play Latin jazz that was not acurate at all, and if you where trying to play Son Montuno, you are way out of rhythm.
The only difference from jazz and Latin Jazz is that the rhythm follows the calve, and play some mambo on your right and jazz chords on the left.
