  • 14 years, epic.

  • and today every audience is acting like inbred american scum!

  • @tommy1973able die in pain.

  • @DanRaccoon go fly a plane into a building,bushfucker!

  • @tommy1973able wouldn't I need a pilots license first?

  • This "Bronstein" sketch is pure genius!

  • Comedy on a different level, that is for sure.

  • Loved this show!

& Just so our Brit friends know...

'Archie Bunker' was actually titled "All in the Family" and was sharp social commentary & way ahead of it's time. It was a fantastic show as long as you understood it was not about supporting Archies' views but rather exposing them.

  • Surprised this isn't on DVD,it was a classic of the time.

  • No longer any need to teach English audiences how to behave like prats, it comes naturally to them....

  • I live in the US and used to watch this in the 80s and loved it. I remember one where they were giving sports scores and trying desperately to think of novel ways to express them, besides "so and so beat so and so 3 to nothing". So funny! I don't know another soul who watched this program but never forgot it.

  • Very good stuff for a very funny first edition.

  • c'mon Watford!

  • I loved this show used to watch it without fail every week...Classic british comedy

  • OH man! I used to watch this show on the A&E channel back in the mid 80's! These guys were HILARIOUS!

  • they certainly got american studio audiences downpat. haha

  • Havent Amazon already got a listing for an Alas Smith and Jones DVD? And neo do you have the sketch show they did in the 90's at all that was just called Smith and Jones? That's when I first saw them as a kid. I've only got one single episode on video so itd be great to see the rest, however many they did.

  • I thought this would be the western series staring Pete Duel and Ben Murphy. I never heard of this one before.

  • you just have to love these two :*** (and their red shoes <3)

  • Wow, great Bogart impression.

  • Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!

I have been wanting to see these again since is was 8 years old!! Thanks again!!!!

  • For what it's worth, I gather there is (at last) going to be a DVD coming out - not sure when though.

  • I have contacts at 2entertain where this so called "DVD" has been planned for 4 years! It's claimed that they can't gain rights to the programme, so it looks like I'll be sticking to my old video recordings.

  • Are 2entertain definitely producing it? My understanding is that it is confirmed as going to happen, but nothing as definite as a date as yet.

  • DVD was eventually made by Fremantle (well, I suppose it would be, wouldn't it!) and is coming out on 6 October 08. Theoretically!

  • I've heard about that one, but I still don't think its definate.

  • love this!

  • That's the best Humphrey Bogart impression that I've ever seen. Smith and Jones are comic legends

  • i love griff! :D

  • A nice pair of pins in tights :>

  • Please keep 'em coming Nedo. If you have access, it would be perfect if you can get all the complete episodes ever produced. As most postings are just snippet's. I'm forever grateful for what you've posted.

  • As am I. S&J formed part of my earliest memories and its lack of availability makes me feel like I've lost something.

  • Here's what I do have Series 1: Episodes 1-3, 5 & 6 Episode 4 (edited) Series 2: Episodes 1 & 6 (edited) Series 3: Episodes 2-4 & 6 Series 4 Episode 1 (edited) Episodes 2-4 & 7 The Home Made Christmas Video Alas Sage & Onion The Complete Series 5 Series 7 Episodes 1-5
  • What ever you can feed me. I'm digging all of it. Thanks again.

P.S. what's the "edited" mean? BBC or Granada or what ever edited for time, for adult content? Thanks again.

  • When it was first shown on tv, I forgot to record it. When UK Gold showed it in the mid nineties I started recording. But after a while I noticed that the UK Gold episodes were missing 4 minutes of the show (UK Gold could have a useless advert break!). You may have noticed that Part 2 of this episode starts from a different point from Part 1, this is because when first shown I missed a bit so this part comes from UK Gold, but as there are edits I return to the BBC shown to get the sketches.

  • Oh that's right! To be honest I was so frothing at the mouth seeing them again, to notice the aberrant editorials. I've spent a time or two kicking myself for not recording the series when I had the same opportunity at the same period you mentioned. I still can't get over the difficulty in finding any thing more than just bits and pieces of what I though was a popular show in that time, in the Uk.

  • I remember missing only 1 episode from the first series when it was first transmitted, though I loved it for some weird reason I didn't record anything from the second series at the time. But come to think of it, video tapes were extremely expensive in the 80's and I did find myself constintally re-recording with the tapes.

  • Awesome, I love Mel 'n' Griff :D
