Oh boy, you need the entire day just to say a few words :) Hold down the home button, which is this one here, right this one here, look at it ... LOOL. Anyone to get here knows what is the home button and where to find it.
@mkoo33 HAHAHAHAHA!! You would be surprised as to how many people do not know what the home button is. They know how the button works, but not the name. It is always better to show people what you are talking about instead of thinking they know what you are talking about.
Any good reviewer / self help video maker know it is always good to "Pete and Repeat" several times to let the info sink in. :-P

ive had my iphone 4 for like one year now and it only happened about 4-5 times. but it happened twice today. does it get worse? im planning on buying a 4s soon
@snowflakelord I only had the issue once. However, I started to have Sim Card issues and ended up replacing mine because the sim errors kept happening. On the way to replace it the phone actually died completely on me.
I suspect you may continue having issues as it could be hardware at this point, but that's just my opinion.
thank you for your video dude, but it did not fix my iphone4s. I booked an appointment with apple store hoping they are able to replace me a intact one. finger crossing.
This method has stopped my iPhone 3GS from continuously restarting! Just one question though ... how long will this last? I just bought a second hand iPhone 3GS and this issue arose pretty quickly ... the company are willing to replace the iPhone with another but if this method has worked already will it last forever or does ANYBODY have experience of this reoccurring and iPhone has began to restart randomly again? I will sub to the first successful helper!
Hi! Im not sure you are still reading this messages but i have same problem but phone works fine without sim card i replays it with new one crap one more time. Do uou thing it will help anyway? Or issue is bigger. Btw if you didnt bought iphone in apple shop they not gonna help you, so maybe there is someone that can talk with them and mayby he not gonna hear REPLACE PHONE thanks for help looking forward for answer
@foxghost04 if the iPhone is crashing when the sim card is installed and you have the same result with a replacement sim card then there is definitely something wrong with the internal components of the phone or how the iOS is attempting to read the card.
I do not believe that running the fix in the video will help.
@foxghost04 Also, I purchased my phone from Apple online and was able to get it replaced without issue when I started having other problems. No questions asked. They should help you even if you did not get it from them. As long as you have a valid warranty they have to honor it. Otherwise they will charge you for their services if outside the warranty period.
@GameSlayerAl42 I assume you have watched the video. If you are still having issues after doing as suggested then I recommend getting the phone replaced.
@MrBladeTeam not sure of you got my message as youtube may have blocked it. The -1 error occurs when one uses the "last ditch" method for preventing baseband updates on the iPhone 4. The baseband does not get updated using this method. Ypu can use TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery mode if the phone is jailbroke.
@Tim3zSquar the DFU mode does not affect your Cellphones bill plan. It only restores the phone to factory settings then allows you to restore the software that you had installed from a backup. You will not be charged money when you do this.
@samartz The Restore option in iTunes does not redowload the phones firmware. It only restores from a previous backup of current settings and installed apps. The DFU is a full factory reset that forces iTunes to download the latest firmware for the phone and install it, then it will ask if you want to load software from a backup (if available).
hi my iphone 3gs radomly restarts like you said. When i do everything on your vid, on itunes when the phone is almost fully restored it crashes and it says error -1. Help me please :(
My phone is iphone3gs on ios5 and it's doing exactly what your explaining but if you reset all these things and it works perfectly or whatevr will the network be the same? Like say if I'm on a network with a plan of bill pay or anything will it still b ok when I do this? I'm just making sure!
@fanandascope Yes. I discuss this from minute 2:37 - to minute 3:15. This process with set the phone to factory defaults which will wipe everything off the phone. Make sure you have a current backup of your phone BEFORE proceeding otherwise it will default back to factory specs and you will not have a restore point to copy your personal data back to the phone.
@SaintBlueC I mention the backup Incase the user doesn't want to loose what they currency have in the phone. Also, I didn't have any 3rd party apps on my phone at the time. Started happening while using the phone out of the box with native apps. I got this info from multiple sites.
!!!ATTENTION IMPORTANT NOTE**********ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PRESS AND HOLD BOTH THE LOCK BUTTON AND HOME BUTTON UNTIL IT SAYS "slide to power off" CONTINUE TO HOLD DOWN BOTH UNTIL IT RESTARTS. You do not have to have it plug it in. You do not have to have a back up because it does not have to reset to factory settings to solve the problem... IN MANY CASES IT IS A BAD APP. DID YOU RECENTLY DOWNLOAD AN APP?? IF SO IT MAY BE THE CAUSE. DELETE AND REINSTALL THE APP AND EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.
@jedanjedini007 if you are unable to get into DFU mode per the video instructions then I suggest replacing the phone as there may be hardware issues related to your particular situation.
@redblur150 Yes the phone will be in a recoveryode that will completely reload the phone to factory defaults. As stated in the video, make sure to have a valid backup of your data BEFORE proceeding.
@israr43014 Yes. I made this video while my iPhone 4 was on iOS 4.3 or lower. This is a function built into all iPhones from the factory.
However, plese note that my iPhone 4 was brand new, pre-ordered unit when the iPhone 4 first came out. I eventually had to replace the unit because of other issues I had.
Hopefully yours will be ok after this first from my video.
@EnriqueL0C0 I only know what is on the forums. I am not an iPhone guru sorry. Tell me what your issue is an I attempt to find a solution for you. Thanks.
@ForestEvilz I suggest getting it replaced then. My phone had lots of issues and it finally died on the way to the store to be replaced. Not sure if you jailbroke it but if you did you may have to pay full price to replace it :(

unhappy98 1 year ago
@unhappy98 I got this from another video on YouTube and have modified it slightly. It may help:
NOTE:Keep iTunes up.
NOTE: Hold the home button through all these steps
1. Unplug the iphone from the PC/Mac
2. Hold the HOME button for 3 seconds, then while holding HOME plug the iPhone back into the PC/Mac
NOTE: Do NOT let go of the HOME button
3. Hold LOCK AND home at the same time for about 35 seconds.
This should correct the problem.
