I love Morrissey & The Smiths and this is one of my fav. Smiths songs. But Morrissey really seems to be struggling with his vocals in this performance. Way below what i've come to expect of him performance-wise. I'm thinking he may have had a cold. He clenched his throat at one part and his facial expressions also seemed to suggest that he himself was unsatisfied with how the performance was going. Particularly at the beginning.

You only have to see his performance at Reading or V Festival in the UK to see how a crowd should react. He performed HSIN a lot at gigs in 2006, and considering The Smiths never played this live too often back in the day, then these gigs should be cherished

To everyone who's saying that the crowd look uninterested... It might be a cultural difference. I don't really know what Germans are like at concerts, but I'm Belgian and apparently Belgians take a long time to really warm up to a concert, although we might really like it. But once we get going, we're crazy :p! So maybe it's just one of the first songs and they're still warming up... If not, then they're stupid... Morrissey rocks :D! Sorry for the essay.

Timeless classic. This song will still resonate with people twenty years from now just as it did with me when I first heard it in 1985. Morrissey and Marr are arguably one of the best songwriting teams of all time. Great version.
