Its only unfair if you have been promised by your team that WINNING is part of what you get for your ticket price. When you purchase a ticket to a ballgame, you're only promised that ball game. You're promised at least 5 innings of baseball for your money. You're not promised winning and you're not promised the attempt to win. I dont know why fans assume that they're entitled to win with the purchase of an entertainment ticket.
well its not exactly that you expect to win, when you got a players you can't afford to buy (who suprisingly some of whom also juice up) you almost don't even stand a fair shot, its almost like pitting a smart person against a retard in a spelling bee...
The "no cap" rule is killing MLB in popularity. And These east coast goons refuse to see it... They are digging thier heads in the sand while the sport dies around them,.... If you are a TRUE fan of the game of baseball... then look past your team loyalty just this once and support a cap.... dont you care that the game is starting to die!?.... make it more competeive like the NFL!
@Mortskcab Its killing it? Last year when the Yankees visited Minnesota, the place was jam packed. Why? Why didn't fans from Minnesota boycott those games and make a statement to the MLB that we're not going to attend until the cap is installed. Stop going to the games if you want something to be done.
@juicelesscaptain@juicelesscaptain Typical East coast goon. Dont you know that teams are having the lowest attendance records? 10,000 or even less for a attendance in cities like Kansas City, Celevland, Toronto, Houston, and 6 other cities.... AND YOU STILL THINK THE MLB IS OKAY!? Jeez your a typical east coaster, You stick your head in the sand and still refuse to see the popularity of the game dying. The last time I checked the MLB had 28 teams besides ny and boston.
@Mortskcab MLB thinks their game is as strong as ever. If they thought they were 'dying' they would do something about it. The reason there are 10,000 people or less in some of these other places is the exact reason why these teams DONT win, they cant afford players because their fans won't go to the games and spend money.
@juicelesscaptain There's a name for that, it's called a vicious cycle. Losing team=no attendance=no money=losing team. To reverse the cycle you have to make a change. MLB can't force fans to come to games, but they can even the playing field which would help small-market teams win which would get more fans to come.
Baseball used to be BY FAR the most popular sport in the country, now it's about #3. The reason MLB doesn't do anything is because they're terrified of another player strike.
you do have a point, especially when it comes to the Yankees, MLB LOVES when the Yankees do well, just look at their schedule each year they always have the easiest schedule of any team
i agree.the money that is spent on a few players is ridiculous.on a whole baseball is looked at as just something to watch in the summer.thats it. yes there are loyal fans and they are in boston, new york new york..... a salary cap would invigorate the whole league. so what if they go on strike again..... if you can afford a team then you can afford a season with out them. look what unions did to detroit. i am a 20 something and i could careless about baseball becouse i am like most of gen x
